"Why didn't you tell us that our granddaughter was born?" Mother asked and I rolled my eyes raking my fingers through my hair.
"Well, you did tell me that you wanted nothing to do with me, Kat, or the baby when I informed you that I was marrying her. You told me that the day you speak to me again will be when Katerina and I are no longer together but guess what? That's never going to happen. I'm marrying her and I don't care if you're okay with it or not because news fucking flash, not everything revolves around you. I made a mistake 5 years ago in letting you marry me off to a Spanish princess but I'm not going to let you do that again. Now like I said, we have nothing more to talk about in regards to the lot or clients because that's none of my concern but yours. And another thing, don't call my office again or harass my secretary. She has every right to refuse to answer any of your calls or questions" With that I hung up before they could say anything else and sighed.
After the conversation with my parents, I grabbed my briefcase and stood up before leaving my office, "Ella, if my parents ever call or show up, here again, tell them to leave and to stop calling as there's nothing we need to discuss anymore."
"Of course, Mr. Storm" she replied as we made our way down the hall towards the conference room where Vivian was already seated and waiting. The meeting with David at the construction sight went by just as quickly as my meeting with Vivian meant I had the rest of the day free. Once Ella and I had returned to the office, I packed up my things and reminded her to write down any messages for me to check over when I came in on Friday since tomorrow was a Holiday.
"Happy Fourth of July, Mr. Storm. And I'll see you Friday" Ella said with a smile and I nodded walking to the elevator and climbing in.
Once I was in the garage and in my car, I turned the engine on before pulling out of the parking lot and made my way towards the house. The radio was blasting Boy With Luv by Halsey ft BTS through the speakers and I tapped on the steering wheel as I nodded along to the song. This song was pretty catching, Katerina had actually introduced me to BTS a couple of months ago when she was cooking dinner and BTS was playing throughout the house via Bluetooth as her phone was connected to the sound system that I had installed when we first moved in.
"You have to listen to all their songs and I swear you're going to love them" she had promised when I had asked why she was listening to k-pop and she was right. I mean I am not a big fan of her but I still enjoy their music. I smiled when I saw the familiar driveway and parked the car next to Hayden's car. Guess we're having a guest for dinner tonight.
"Babe, I'm home" I called once I walked into the house and smiled as Mad Love by The Script blasted through the speakers and shook my head before making my way further in only to find Katerina and Hayden cooking and singing along to the song. I leaned against the doorway and watched them having a good time. It's been a while since I last saw Katerina and Hayden together like this and it was nice. I know Hayden has been having an extremely difficult time since Katerina moved out so seeing them together was a sight to see. Katrina looked up and smiled giving me a small wave before she continued to sing along with her brother.
"Oh my god" Hayden screamed when he saw me making Katerina burst out laughing as she lowers the volume, "give me a heart attack now why don't you."
"Sorry, it was just nice seeing you enjoying yourself for a bit." I apologized and he sighed rolling his eyes but a smile took over his face, "staying for dinner I'm guessing?"
"Um, actually, about that," Katerina said and I raised a brow before she walked over to me and pulled me away so we were away from hearing distance.
"What's wrong?" I asked and she bit her lip, "Wait where's Savannah?"
"She just fell asleep a few minutes ago." she replied and I nodded, "Would it be okay if Hayden stayed with us?" I furrowed my brows at her question.
"Why? What happened? And you know you don't need to ask this is not just my house, sweetheart." I replied and she smiled.
"Nothing bad happened, he's just having a really hard time getting used to the idea of me not living at home anymore and wanted to know if he could stay here."
"Of course love, he can stay here for as long as he wants. It'll also give me peace of mind knowing you have someone there helping you while I'm at work" I said and she smiled leaning up on her tiptoes and giving me a soft kiss on the lips and I smiled against hers, "Didn't he have like two dogs?"
"He does and they're in the puppy playroom with the others."She replied referring to our four dogs and I nodded.
"Okay then, let him know he stays here for as long as he wants while I go change out of this and check on Savannah before joining you both for dinner," I stated and she nodded before heading back to let her brother know about staying here while I headed upstairs to change and check on Savannah.
