Epilogue Katerina 2
Hayden had officially removed our parents from his life after that day, and I couldn't blame him, seeing as how they had reacted and insulted his relationship with Mark. No matter how much my siblings and I tried to convince our parents that Mark was a good guy, they just wouldn't see reason. It was a complete 180 from how they had been two years ago. It was shocking how they went from loving and caring parents to being resentful and biased.
"What's got you sighing so much?" I blinked my eyes at the sound of Alex's voice to see him standing in front of me with raised brows and worried eyes.
I bit my cheek and decided to tell him about everything that had happened in the past seven years. "I just can't seem to understand why my parents changed. I mean, I get that it must be hard to see all your children growing up, but it just doesn't make any sense to me as to why they would be so biased and closed-minded about Hayden."
"I'm not sure, babe, but what I am sure of is that you need to clear your head from those thoughts and come join the others in the yard to watch our son blow out the candles," he replied, standing to his feet and holding his hand out for me to take. I smiled before taking his hand and standing up. "How are our troublemakers, by the way?" he added, running his hand over my bump, causing the twins to start moving.
"Good. I'm starting to think that these two will give us more headaches than Sage and Savannah," I replied, rubbing my belly, making him chuckle. Yes, you heard that right. We’re expecting twins this time, which was a shocker for us since, much like Sage, they weren’t planned. But we couldn't be happier.
David and Xander got married a year after Sage was born, and within a month, they adopted a beautiful baby girl from China named Alexa. Less than a year later, they adopted twin boys from Ecuador named Santiago and Michael. I couldn't be happier for them. Their relationship was rocky at the beginning, with David being careful not to let Xander in too quickly after their first and only breakup after four years.
Maribel and Adam, sadly, divorced just a year after Levi turned three, after Adam caught my sister cheating with one of her co-stars. To say I was shocked would be a lie because I saw it coming from miles away. They had their share of hardships, but I had hoped they would make it. Maribel ruined that by cheating. I, of course, gave her a piece of my mind, telling her that she royally messed up her marriage by being an idiot. She didn't quite like that, but she knew I was right when she was handed the divorce papers a week later, already signed by Adam.
Jaylen recently started dating an H&M model by the name of Liam Watts, which took us by surprise since we didn't know he was gay. The model is pretty cute, with his blonde shaggy hair, hazel green eyes, and naturally pouty lips. He's about 5'4", which is a big height difference between him and Jaylen, who is 6'3". They apparently met at a party hosted by Liam's modeling agency. They hit it off, and less than two months later, they made their romance official. Jaylen not only got a boyfriend but also retired from the METS and decided to focus on his modeling, singing, and acting careers. He recently got a modeling contract for Gucci and is currently working on a new album and filming a new movie where they'll be co-starring with our dear sister. Now that should be interesting to watch.
Then there's Kyle, who is dating Elle. Yes, you heard that right. My brother is dating Alex's secretary, and they've been going steady for more than two years now, and I'm actually quite happy for them. Kyle and Elle met at the grand opening of Alex's new restaurant in SoHo, and though they are complete opposites, they somehow balance each other out. It didn't take long for the paparazzi to start rumors regarding Elle and how she's only after his fame since Kyle had just released a new album not long before they met. Kyle, being Kyle, was quick to shut those rumors down and practically told them to shove their opinions up their asses.
Lastly, we've got our sweet and lovable Hayden. That boy has gotten the worst end of the stick with our parents. First, they persuaded him to become either a model or a businessman. Then they were against his relationship with his boyfriend, who luckily didn't break up with him after being insulted by our parents. They're still going strong even after six years together. Yes, they've been together even before Sage was born. Mark has been a welcome addition to the family, much like Elle, Xander, and Liam.
If you had told me seven years ago that my life would be this way, I would've laughed in your face and called you insane before calling the police. But here I am, seven years later, married to an incredible and loving man with soon-to-be four children, and I couldn't be happier. Yes, our relationship didn't start off like any normal one, but what relationship starts off that way?
"Kat?" I looked up at my husband, who smiled. "You spaced out again."
"Sorry," I whispered, and he shook his head with a smile before cupping my face in his large hands and leaning down to peck me on the lips, his forehead against mine.
"I love you," he murmured, causing my heart, even after all these years, to skip a beat.
"I love you too."
And to think this all happened because I was having the CEO's baby.
Now, that's a story to tell the kids when they're older and want to know how their parents got together.
