Chapter Twenty-Nine
One of the guys from downstairs sat comfortably on my bed. He laid his back onto the headboard with his hands tucked behind his neck. He turned to my direction and smirked as soon as he saw me.
"Miss Ryuk? Miss Ryuk?" I could hear Mr. Nam's faint voice from my phone. But all I could focus on was the asshole that had the audacity to enter my room uninvited and sat on my bed.
I stomped towards the foot of my bed and continued, "You are trespassing my room and you're sitting on my bed without my permission. Are you that big of a dick to do intruding things?"
He slowly stood from my bed and walked towards me. He said, "I should be offended by the way you talk to me. But seeing you angry makes you even more attractive."
My grasp on my phone tightened as he moved closer to me.
He stood close to me and continued, "Since we're already in the same room, how about we do something fun?"
"You want to do something fun?" I snapped. I headed to my door and opened it wide. He turned around to face me and I added, "My sisters are all the fun that you need. Kindly leave my room and never step foot in here during the whole time that you'll be here."
With a smirk, he headed towards me and grabbed the door. He attempted to close it but I tightened my hold on the door knob. I also put my right foot in front of it and stood firmly. I scowled at him as he attempted to close the door.
He sighed. "I never knew that you'd be this stiff. But I think that once you let go of yourself, you'll have fun in life and you'll enjoy it," he replied as he smirked once again.
"No, thanks. I have goals in life and they're much more important than having fun on a path with no direction," I snarled. "If you want to have some fun, you have my sisters downstairs. They'll give you all the fun that you'll need."
"Oh, your sisters are already knocked out. Why do you think I'm here?" he replied.
I froze. If my sisters were already asleep and this dude was here, then… where were the two other guys?
My heart raced as my brain gave me one possible answer: the kids' room.
The guy slowly moved closer towards me and whispered directly into my ear, "Come on, baby. You know you want to relax. I can help you with that." Without warning, he caressed my arm and that just ticked me off even more.
I grabbed him closer by the shoulder and whispered back, "Unfortunately for you, you're barking at the wrong tree." Without warning, I kicked him in the balls.
"AAAHH!" he screamed as he grabbed hold of his balls and landed on my floor.
I grabbed my things and leaned down to his fallen body, "Next time that you try to persuade someone, make sure that they're really interested in what you're offering." Without another word, I rushed to the children's bedroom.
—*---*---*---
When I reached the door, I heard male voices from inside the room. I kicked the door open and to my horror, the two other men were there. Taken by surprise, they stood and turned around towards me. The children were at the very corner of their bunk bed. Yeonseok sat in front of the others. Ahra remained at the back as she held the younger ones back.
I dropped my things at the door and grabbed each man by their jackets. I dragged them back to the door and stood before the children. I snarled, "I don't care if you're friends of my sisters. But when it comes to these kids and to me, you are not welcome in our rooms."
They both chuckled as they shared a quick glance at each other. One of them remarked, "It seems like our friend wasn't able to persuade Miss Uptight here."
The other looked at me and said, "We just wanted to introduce ourselves to the kids. What's wrong with that?"
"I don't know if you're born stupid or simply acting like one, but the chldren are extremely uncomfortable with your presence here," I replied. "These kids don't act this way if they think the people they encounter approach them without malice. And seeing that these kids are highly uncomfortable, it's best that you leave this house before–"
"Before what? You'll call the police?" the other asked sarcastically.
"That won't be necessary," a voice spoke from behind them. They turned around and they revealed Mr. Kim, who was still in his work suit. He continued, "The fun's over, gentlemen. It's time for you to leave."
"Oh, really? And who are you to order us about?" one of them snarled at him. "Just because you wear a fancy suit, that doesn't mean we'll take orders from you."
"Oh, am I not intimidating enough?" Mr. Kim tilted his head to the side. "How about this, then?" he asked as he snapped his fingers. And in no time, police officers quickly appeared from both sides of the door. From the other end of the hall, a faint moaning was heard. In a few seconds, two other officers held their friend as they walked past the room. He was still groaning from what I did to him.
Mr. Kim added, "Is this enough to convince you to leave, gentlemen?"
"Put your hands behind your head," one of the officers spoke.
Left with no choice, the two men followed what the police said. And as they were escorted out of the room and to the living room, they kept quiet and kept their hands where they should be.
Mr. Kim approached me and quickly asked, "Are you alright, Miss Ryuk? Did they hurt you? Did they touch you?"
I shook my head.
He turned to the kids and asked gently, "Are you all okay? Did those bad guys do anything to you? Did they say anything bad towards you?"
I turned around and the kids were still shaken from what just happened. I sat beside them and said, "There's nothing to worry about, little ones. Mr. Kim is a good person. I work with him at the office. He won't do anything bad towards anybody here."
Mr. Kim knelt slowly and asked again, softer this time, "Did they do anything to you?"
The kids shook their heads.
"Did they say anything to you?" he asked again.
The kids gave the same answer.
Yeonseok then replied, "They only offered us gummy bears. They said it was better than the original gummies. But we never accepted any because Aunt Mingyu taught us to never accept anything from strangers, even if they are friends of our parents, grandma or even Aunt Mingyu herself."
Horrified and with my anger amplified, I grabbed hold of the bed sheets. Those assholes literally offered something that could possibly be drugs to mere children?! What kind of people did my sisters even bring to our home?! Didn't they even think about the safety and welfare of their own children?!
Mr. Kim put a hand on my shoulder. I looked at him with furrowed brows and he gave my shoulder a light squeeze. He then said, "Calm down, Miss Ryuk. We'll get to the bottom of everything. What's important now is that the men were caught before anything else happened. At the same time, nothing happened to the children and nothing happened to you."
My nose fumed as I let out a deep sigh. Even though nothing bad happened to the children, I was still not satisfied with what those men did tonight.
Suddenly, another set of footsteps walked towards the door.
