"I can't find her," Sia exclaimed, his voice filled with urgency, as he burst into the queen's lavishly adorned chambers. The grandeur of the room, with its rich tapestries and glistening chandeliers, seemed to pale in comparison to the distress etched across his face. Alarmed by her son's unexpected entrance, Queen Dogara swiftly dismissed the maid who had been attending to her, the servant scurrying away with a bewildered look.

Turning her attention to her agitated son, Dogara's regal countenance remained unruffled, a stark contrast to Sia's evident turmoil. The room, adorned with opulent furnishings and framed by large, ornate windows, seemed to freeze in the tense moment as the queen waited for Sia to elaborate on the cause of his frantic intrusion.

"You can't find whom?" Dogara asked coolly, sipping chamomile tea.

"Don't act dumb with me," Sia sneered. "You know exactly who I'm talking about."

"Enlighten me, because I don't."

"Crinka," he snarled. "I can't find Crinka."

"How is that my problem?" she asked, putting away her empty cup. "She's the one who wanted to leave the palace."

"That was because you wanted her gone!" he yelled, before calming down a bit. “Mother, if I don’t find Crinka, I’ll…”

Dogara cut him off. "You'll what? Kill me? It's truly pathetic that you'd threaten your mother, the queen, over a she-wolf."

He exhaled sharply, attempting to calm himself. "Mother, that silly she wolf is pregnant with my child."

Dogara laughed. “Pregnant? Don’t be silly Nasia. A she wolf like her can’t be pregnant, especially not for an Icelander.”

“She’s pregnant mother. I confirmed it. Izal confirmed it.”

Dogara sat up in her chair. “Well, why didn’t you tell me? Had it been I was informed of her present condition; I wouldn’t have sent her out.”

“Well, you did and she could be in danger, simply because of your unecessary love for reputation.”

Dogara glared at him. “I believe the she wolf can take care of herself so there is no cause for alarm?”

“There truly isn’t. She isn’t missing son. The gates have been shut, so have the caves and underground tunnels. We’ll look for her in the morning.”

“If she’ll be alive till morning.”

Dogara was irritated. “Can you stop being so pessimistic? I don’t even know why you’re so upset by her disappearance. Plus, who cares if she dies. She’s just another she wolf and she can always be replaced.”

“She’s not just another wolf mother! She is the mother of my son!”

Dogara arched a brow. “How can you be so certain that it’s a boy?”

Sia felt like punching something. “Mother, that’s not the point and you know it.”

“Then what is the point?”

He fought to control his anger. "You let me look for her."

"I didn't know you needed permission for a stupid mission."

"Looking for the mother of my son is not a mission! And don’t pretend like father didn’t instruct you to keep us, me especially from looking for her."

“I didn’t know you were the type who let orders limit you.”

“Mother…”

"You will not leave these palace grounds until morning, none of you will!" she declared.

"I can have Eoff manipulate time."

"You can, but you won't, look son, I know you love her but…"

Sia butt in. “I don’t love her!”

“Fine. No need to get all antsy. Like I said earlier, we will look for your little she wolf in the morning. Now, get out of my sight!”

"Mother, if you don't let me look for her, I will..."

"Release the hound?" she asked, chuckling. “Honey, you and I both know that you have no control over the hound. It might live within you but that doesn’t mean you can control it. Plus, you need the help of a witch to find a possible exit out of the palace and the last time I checked, there are no witches living in the palace!”

"Mother, please."

"Get out of my sight."

"Don't you want me to give you a grandchild?"

"What I want is for your brother, the Crown Prince, to give me a grandchild," she retorted. "You have two minutes to get out of my sight, Sia, or I won't let you look for that she-wolf again."

He glared at her, his anger and desperation mixing into a potent cocktail of emotions. "If anything happens to my child, I will..."

Dogara's laughter cut him off. "You won't do anything."

"You're right," he said coldly, his irises changing to a deep violet. "Sia won't do anything, but I will."

Dogara looked up, eyes widening when she realized the change.

”What? How? You’re supposed to be asleep! My husband made sure of that! The witches made sure of that!”

A deep rumble left his chest and Dogara inched further backwards.

“Oh Dogara, did you really think I would be asleep for that long? Beasts like me can’t be kept hidden for too long. Now let me make this clear. I have decided to extend the time I’d exact my revenge, but if anything happens to that child, blood will flow,” he threatened, eyes darkening. “And who knows, maybe yours will too.”

Dogara swallowed hard. “I’ll tell my husband. He’ll make sure you go away for good.”

Sycamore chuckled. “I don’t care if you tell the world. I’m back,” he stated. “For good this time.”

“If you hurt any of my sons, I won’t spare you!”, she threatened.

“Please don’t, because it won’t be fair if you spare me and I don’t spare you. Now listen to me Dogara Lancaster, first and only daughter of Dennis Kew, only wife of Thjis Lancaster, and mother of the twelve princely Icelanders. You will do well to make sure that nothing, absolutely nothing happens to that wolf or her child, for if a single scratch is found on her sweet body; let’s just say that I will feed you to my dogs. My dogs, the ones Sia trained? They’ll feed on your flesh.”

Dogara glared. “You wouldn’t dare. You said you don’t hurt women!”

“I don’t, but if they hurt my woman, that statement would be considered a slip of my tongue.”

“But you don’t slip your tongue,” she argued.

“I don’t, but for her? I will.”
