Part 44. A surprise!
"Well, what do you need help with?" Gia asked, sitting by her side with her sisters in tow. Fortunately, Dean was awake or made to get up by Lukas breaking all the spells cast around the cottage. He bought the fairies to this side.
Talia turned towards her with a tired sigh, lifting her shirt to expose her very round belly. "Is my baby okay in there? I know it's not a heavy fall, but I still want to be sure that everything is alright."
"I'll check. Stay put" With that, Gia muttered something under her breath before roaming her hands all over Talia's body. What was she doing? Checking for residues of magic casted by Li Changying, maybe. Finally, she halted on the roundness of the moon princess belly. Her hands were cold, unlike Lukas, and Talia immediately flinched.
It made her heartbeat kick up a notch. The glow of Gia's purple magic from her palms rapidly started to change into a rich blue. Talia gasped. What did that mean?
When she felt a possessive hand curl over the small of her back, Talia tried to hide a smile. Lukas was adamant about remaining by her side, just in case, they needed anything.
"Oh." The fairy breathed out, a smile blooming on her face. She felt confusion fill her body.
"What? Is something wrong?" Talia asked, panicking.
"There's nothing wrong. The baby is perfectly healthy. Your distress might have alerted the child, but other than that, it's doing fine in there. However..." The fairy started, eyes averting toward her sisters.
Talia felt the breath in her lungs die out quickly, hands gripping the bedsheets on her sides. Lukas was quick to hold her. Why did Gia trail like that? She felt her brain go numb as the glow from the fairy's hand dimmed and a worried expression cast upon her face.
"But what? What are you not telling me?" She asked frantically, catching the look in her eyes.
"My love, calm down," Lukas whispered in her ear, but she wasn't any bit close to that.
"You may be having a demi child, Talia." The fairy completed, the words ringing in her ears. "We have already told you the possibility of that happening already."
The fairies did tell them in the beginning term of her pregnancy that their baby might be half-demon because of Lukas. Now that Talia's powers from previous birth are back, it's a possibility for the baby to be a Demi child.
Demi children were typical in Olympus. They are like hybrids—the best of both their parents. Demigods could act on either of the power. So it's natural that her baby will be a demi child. Talia's a moon princess, one of the Greek Gods and daughter of Zeus; meanwhile, Lukas is a demon, King of Hell. Their mixed baby would be demi.
The moon princess wondered which path her baby would take. Both the good and bad sides had an equal opportunity to receive both of them, but then there was the thought that they wouldn't join sides at all. She thought that since she would be mated to Lukas and practically lived in Hell, her future children would feel more inclined to join the evil side. Not to mention their father was a renowned King of Hell and would probably not hate the fact that his children were lethal assets to his side.
"Oh," She whooshed a breath, wiping a hand down her face. They scared her. Talia should have expected that already after learning the history of her previous life. "Thanks for informing. I have already thought about it."
"And?"
"It doesn't scare me. I love my baby. I don't care if it's a demi, demon or god."
Her mate sneaked a possessive hand to splay over her stomach while she rubs at the back of his hand. His at his temples to shoo away an impending headache.
"You have to be careful with who you share this information with. I can make a blood oath to swear not to tell anyone." Mia murmured; her eyes narrowed together. Talia thought about her proposal. To perform a blood oath would be painful, and besides, Talia can hold her secrets.
"No, thank you. I can hold my secret."
The fairies nodded their heads, giggles escaping their mouth. It must be an inside joke. "Oh, we know."
"Thank you for coming here." The moon princess smiled at them, sitting up in her bed as the three of them got ready to leave.
"Anytime." Sia smiled. "Don't put too much stress on yourself, Talia. Take care. We will see you soon."

The following two days passed in a blur. Talia was adjusting to people coming and visiting her in the tiny little cottage. Not that she had any problem with the place, it's just cramped up for too many people. That's all.
First, her sisters visited her the moment they heard about Ajaxson's death. Also, the rumours about Talia getting her moon princess powers back quickly spread about. The pregnant woman had no idea how to deny him honestly. Defeating Li Changying did take a great effort considering she's a demon who had witchy spells under her sleeve. One thing was for sure; it's not her human form who knew how to wield a sword or fight in that manner. Maybe she did get abilities from her previous life.
Her father was nearly in tears when he visited her. Zeus blamed himself for not completely getting rid of Ajaxson. Like a fool, he believed that his friends son was capable of change. That's the only reason he let him go by stripping him of his title and banishing him from Olympus.
At the moment, Talia was pacing from one corner of the room to another with Dean sitting on the couch.
"How could he have not told me where he was going!? How dare he-" She was in the middle of ranting out for about the hundredth time to a very unfocused Dean when a knock sounded from the front door. The moon princess immediately got up and threw the door open before the guard could stop her.
When she saw Lukas on the other side after hours of not seeing him, she promptly pulled him into her arms for a bone-crushing hug. When Dean told her that Lukas was not in his study had gone to complete some unfinished business, the paranoia of him leaving her and their unborn child came back.
"You're okay", She breathed out in relief. Before the Demon King could reassure her that he was, in fact, fine, she shoved him away with a menacing glare. "Why didn't you tell me anything?! I was worried si-"
Lukas pressed a kiss onto her lips, silencing his worried mate. Her heart exploded in her chest as their mouths met, he teased her tongue out, prodding at the seam of her lips until she gasped. Talia wanted to melt into the kiss like all the times before, but she couldn't bring herself to do it. She pushed at his chest, cheeks flushing as she pulled away.
"Do you have any idea how worried I was?" The moon princess whispered, crossing her arms over her torso and turning away, lips still tingling. Lukas sighed softly, contemplating before he pulled his confused mate by her hand out of the room.
He motioned Dean to follow them.
Huh. What was going on? She glared at his back as they stood in the living room. Before she could ask him any more questions, Lukas produced a portal, snapping his hands in the air and chanting the familiar verse.
He turned towards her. "Come with me."
"Where?"
"You'll find out."
Talia bobbed her head and followed him through the portal, only for it to take them to Hell. Her mouth slacked open as she stared at the sight in front of her. Kira, Lauren, Leo, Hades, his wife, Yama and their Hellhound, Fang, stood in line for their welcome.
"Surprise!" A gasp broke out of her lips.
Tears sprung in her eyes as she took in the familiar walls, couches and decor of the room. She turned to Lukas, struggling to find words. "D-Did you do all this?"
"Yes," He sheepishly smiled. "I have been planning to get them all together for this surprise. I'm sorry if I was away a lot."
Her heart filled with joy. She was so lucky to have someone like him who cared about her more than anyone else. Talia immediately threw herself in his arms, tears drenching the front of his shirt.
"I-I love you so much."
Lukas kissed the top of her head, his lips curving in a smile. "Oh, I love you too. Now let's go meet them."
She sniffled before pulling back, the Demon King thumbing at her tears. He held her hand as they met their friends. The moon princess started with Yama, bowing down to greet him before he smiled back at her. Kira and Lauren couldn't contain their excitement, so they hugged her, careful of the belly.
Hades gave her a hug as well, a grin curving on his lips. "We are related, Talia. How about that?"
The moon princess huffed. "I'm never calling you uncle, though!"
"You better not! I don't want to be called aunt by one of my best friends!" Persephone giggled from his side, taking the chance to pull Talia towards her. They hugged for the longest time. She couldn't believe how much she missed every single one of them. The past few weeks have indeed been a struggle. Not anymore.
Pulling back, she glared at Dean. "Did you know about this surprise?"
"Maybe" He shrugged.
"Oh, come on!" Talia pouted, wrapping arms around herself as everyone around her laughed in delight. It felt like she's back in her home.
