Chapter 9
"Am I allowed to kiss you?" the young man asked his breath dangling on a dangerous thread.
Her eyes widened in shock, this is something that the young lady hadn't seen coming, and she couldn't talk, there is nothing that could even be done now.
Kayden took her silence as a response and as he lowered his head to kiss her, but she suddenly pulled back.
"Please, don't," the young lady called out swiftly.
It was aching how that happened, no matter what goes on, there are several thing that she wouldn't let a man do to her. Kissing her was one of those things. She had her values, she had set her rules, having sex once, might be a mistake that was being corrected by a babe, but now, she is wiser she has limited chances to let a man get into her head, talk less of her heart.
"Hey, that is not fair," he called out as he turned around and started walking back towards the man's car.
Nothing else was said, and during the ride home, she swiftly directed him on where to go and as that was done, he parked in front of her house, making a horning sound to the lady.
"There you go, lady," he said swiftly.
she smiled. It was one of those flashy smiles that got to his ears and that was crazy.
"Thank you for the ride, and also the dinner, I appreciate it," she said walking out of the car.
he was silent to that, and even after the lady had left, he watched with great interest as she pulled over to the bungalow at the road side.
she prayed silently that he should go, but he didn't, his car was behind her, and she could feel his glares shooting behind her back, it is awkward that he wouldn't drive off now.
The lights inside the house is a sign that he is still awake, so she knocked the door once as she stepped on the porch. Good enough for her, he wasn't sleeping so deeply, so he made it to the door quickly.
"Hey, there," he breath out those words catching his breath a little bit.
He stood out of the door opening his arms, walking into it m, she hugged him.
He was a great spectator of that show, he looked with great interest, zooming out the man she was hugging. He discovered it was his colleague, but then, he couldn't read out the line together.
He had moved to the other side after he got a job at the hospital, he was literally transferred from his state's hospital to this small town a while ago, and balancing was enough.
Something very tight knocked the man off, he knew that pang was called jealousy, but he was in no mood to point it out as it is already. There is no point doing so, in fact, he will be a loser to consider such, but then, he needs better ways to cope with all those things, and he knows it so well.
When the one minute hug was over, he led the way to the house and she followed him, they closed the door and that was all.
"Wow!" the young man sighed as he ignited the engine of his car, making it roar at full speed. When that was done, he stated over to the place that was so lonely and he calls home.
"Okay, what was that which just happened out there?" the question pulled out of her mouth as she leaned behind the door.
He smiled, he had acted up like the way he should, so, he doesn't see why she be complaining.
"Hey, what happened, huh? I was simply hugging my lovely cousin, or isn't that what took place?" the question popped out of her mouth, it was insane, despite the fact that it did not occur that way, the favored look on his face brought a lot of tangled emotions in his heart.
"Shut the fuck up, bruh! I mean, you knew He was behind us and was staring at me. You should simply have opened the door and let me walk inside, and not to reveal yourself," she exclaimed throwing her head behind.
It was funny how she was speaking, he was indeed guilty as charged. He had been waiting for his cousin to return home all night, and when he had seen the car stop outside, he recognized the vehicle, and the owner as well..
The truth is, he is madly in love with her, but the lady wouldn't as much as glimpse at him because of him. She is madly in love with him, even when the man will not acknowledge that fact.
"Okay, that is true I must have acted out a little too possessive, but you should stay away from the man, then, I do not think he is such a good influence to you," he said.
If he wasn't going to have him because of her mad obsession over them, then, it us only fair that he plays him those same cards. It can never be any better now.
Rose raised her head and their eyes met, it was warm, she creased her forehead as she wondered what his reasons where.
"Any reasons why you said so? besides, he is my best friend from junior high, we used to be close to one another," she said throwing her head behind.
All he did was roll his eyes, he definitely knew one thing the lady didn't.
Walking away from the center of the room, he walked over to his bar where he picked up an expensive wine bottle and two wine glasses, he brought it to the table. This made her detach her body from the door, she walked all the way to the largely decorated living room and sat on a bean bag.
The design of the house was nice, not rich, but exquisite, the marbled stone floor was cold, it sent sweet chills down her spine and she adored it.
In spring, it is always good to be this way, little things are sometimes precious to acknowledge, but even the weather was good to do fine business.
He did not speak until he had poured her a glass of the red wine and then his own. Placing it to his lips, he sipped it, long and hard.
She is not a fan of alcoholic drinks, but she did not mind, she placed the glass of wine on her lips and it was good.
She was about to ask the question again when he spoke out of his on good will.
"I do not know what you want to hear, then, but he is not a good guy," he said insisting on that fact.
She was dumbfounded, she knew him way longer than herself, although he was three years older than her, he was still nice to her, and he played that big brother baby figure she lacked in her life.
"Can you tell me more, please? besides, there is nothing going on between us, and never will they be," she shot out rolling her eyes.
Her throat was tight, she managed to remove her jacket out of her body, and it is insane how such a thing even happened.
He was embedded in his thoughts, he seems to have a lot of things to say, but sharing it was the matter, she barely looked like some one who will say something, it pissed the hell out of her.
"You don't have to know him to avoid him, huh?" he called out his eyes sweeping through her.
There is something in his voice that has never have been there before, it was so intriguing and for a lady like him, getting to the root of this was her only option.
She rose on her feet and walked over to the couch where he was, she sat down there and wrapped her hands around her slender legs as she brought them up to her chin.
"Tell me, then, did this man change? I know we are no longer teenagers and his rudeness is quite hateful, but you know I will listen to your advice when ever you tell me because I am scared of falling into a out right? now, please tell me because I am so eager to know this, I really want to.
He was a very patient man, he wasn't going to sit there and watch another man take over his cousin, use her and dump her like the other man had done.
"I can't say much, but you will be hurt if your continue seeing him," he said.
She would have laughed if the situation was any better, but damn, it wasn't and despite the fact that she got it this wrong, there isn't much that he could go about dealing with that way.
"Is he a flirt? is that what you mean, then, the love them and leave them guy?" the young lady shot out in an unpleasant tone.
It was crazy the way he said these thing, Her eyes were swirling around the young man's own, nothing even made it more disadvantageous than the look that consumed her.
