Chapter 47

Martha walked to me and dropped on my lap while Kimberly went straight to the upholster and jumped on it and Jeremy went to the freezer.
I guess you are having visitors, I should be on my way, David said.
Ok. Remember to be here 7am on the dot. I will take you to my warehouse to fix you where you will work. Anytime later than 7am and you won't find me at home. I'm a busy woman, I said.
Ok ma, David replied.
See you tomorrow, I said.
David nodded, gave a bow to my friends and exited my house.
Who is that guy? Martha asked.
That's David, I met him at the mechanic shop where I went to check my car, I said with a smirk.
He is handsome, Martha observed
Every guy is always handsome in your eyes, I said and gently pushed Martha off my lap and got up.
But no doubt. That guy is cute. my eyes has been on him since I came in here, Jeremy put in and came back into the living room with a packet of biscuit and two soft drinks.
I looked at Jeremy.
I know you have eyes for good things. So tell us, is he your catch? Jeremy asked.
You guys are too lousy. That guy is unemployed and I'm trying to help him, I replied.
That's my baby, always helping people, Kimberly added and blew me a kiss.
That guy is too dope. Why not use the help you are giving him to have him small, Martha said.
As how? I asked.
Stop pretending baby girl, get close to him and if possible use your money and get him. Men can be won with money just like women, Jeremy said.
Imagine you and that David having a baby, oh how cute he/she will be, Martha added and rolled her eyes.
Are you both crazy. You are encouraging Ama to use her money and marry a man. That will make her look desperate, Kimberly screamed.
We are in modern days where population of women is twice that of men. Many of the men that will come for Ama will still be enticed by her money so it is better for her to go for this one that looks like a prince. Beside I see a little spark between them. He might love her but fears she will look down on him and I'm sure he will be better than many guys that will only pretend to love her, Martha said.
If not that you are my friends, I would send  you both out of my house. You want me to reduce myself and date my employee? I asked.
Just what I said. That guy may like Ama but is afraid Ama will look down on him because of his status, Martha said.
That's it. Ama should just make a move. Give him green light and if he plays in, you grab him. Who wouldn't like to marry a woman worth million, Jeremy added.
Are you both possessed? Kimberly asked.

As for the wedding, Ama has more than enough money to organize it, Martha said.
Nobody will know she married him, will they? Jeremy asked.
I wonder oh. Such a handsome guy, Martha gulped and held her chest.
Don't mind them. Listen to me Ama, the same God that blessed you with everything you have will bless you with a good husband. You are only 26years and still young, there is nothing to rush. Don't let them push you into desperation, Kimberly advised.
Gosh, I sighed.
I need to go get a bath, I smirked.
Kimberly be talking like, if she had opportunity to have that guy she will decline, Martha mimicked.
Many are mad, few are naked, Kimberly mocked.
I shook my head and headed up the stairs.
After my friends left, I laid on the sofa thinking about everything they said.
No doubt David is very cute and acts maturely but as Kimberly said, throwing myself on him will make me look desperate, I thought.
Hard as I tried to remove David from my mind, I couldn't. I spent the whole Saturday and Sunday thinking about him.
Monday came and before 7am David arrived. Instead of my warehouse, I drove him to a Chinese restaurant with an excuse that I was too tired to cook at home and wanted to have breakfast at the restaurant and he should join me.
I ordered for two plates of dumplings for myself and David and a bottle of red wine, we ate and drank silently.
You seem very anxious to start work, I said breaking the silence.
Sure I'm anxious. Staying at home all day for three good years hasn't been nice at all, David replied.
I nodded and sighed not knowing how to shoot my shot at David. After racking my brain for a while, I decided to go about it Indirectly.
So what's your female spec? I asked.
I love beautiful fair girls. Tall/average height with curvy shape and are very intelligent and good in bed, David said.

I understand but I think everybody here is minding their business and if anyone choose to listen to us, that's his/her cup of tea, David replied.

We continued to gist and before I knew it I had blurted my entire life story to David.
After we left the restaurant, I felt like I have known David for a lifetime.
I dropped David in my warehouse and fixed him in the position of assistant sales representative, before driving to my office.
The whole week turned out really busy and I was more than excited when Friday came and my friends brought up an open party invite. I invited David to join us and  happily, he accepted.
The party turned out really fun, I realized David to be a very good dancer. I wasn't good at dancing and he took time to teach me dance steps. Jeremy and Martha were free around him and even twerked for him which I know was to make me jealous but Kimberly was withdrawn from him, if David danced and went where Kimberly stood, she trickily moved away and avoided every close contact with him. Twice I notice Kimberly steal glances at David like she was trying to convince herself of something about him.
Towards the ending of the party, pop music was replaced with blues. The song was already erotic and David made matters worse by whispering sensual words to me. I was shaking and wriggling all over David when the party was over.
I managed to drop my friends at their houses before driving back to my house.
Please David talk no more, I begged as we got out of the car and walked to my front door.
Immediately I unlocked the door, David began kissing me, I couldn't control myself and kissed back.
One thing lead to another and we had sex in my sitting room.
The next morning I was woken up by smell of coffee and fried egg.
I opened my eyes to David sitting on my bed with a tray containing a glass of warm milk, plate of egg and bread.
Good morning, David greeted with a charming smile.
Morning, how did I get on bed? I asked.
After yesterday drama, you slept off so I carried you to bed, David said.
That's too sweet of you and now this? Oh God, How I miss breakfast on bed. The last time I was served breakfast on bed was like five years ago by my college lover in California. You are a darling, I said and sat up.
David shifted forward and gave me a light kiss.
So which do I start? I asked.
Milk, I replied myself.
I giggled and removed the glass from the tray. Immediately the glass slipped from my hand and broke on the floor spilling the milk inside it on the floor.
Hardly had I lifted the glass out of the tray, it slipped out of my hand and broke on the floor spilling the milk on the floor.
I'm sorry, David apologized.
I will clean this up, I said and tried getting up from bed but David held me back.
I'm at your service today. Eat the bread and egg while I take care of this, David replied sweetly.
I blushed.
Don't bother making another milk, just water from the freezer will do, I whispered.

I laughed and shook my head.
I was enjoying the fried egg and bread when David came back with bottled water and a glass.
I finished eating and went to refresh, David insisted on joining me in the bathroom, I opposed but gave in after an argument.
We had a warm bath and later settled to watch Korean movie, I laughed very hard when David cracked a joke about Most girls loves Korean actors and getting bedded by local men.
In the afternoon, we prepared lunch together and fed each other and played scrabble game. Evening came, we had a stroll holding hands and dinner at an eatery. We went back home to have a cold bath with intense lovemaking.
The next morning, I woke up very early to prepare for service. I dropped David off before going to church.
I came back from church to meet Kimberly.
She didn't care to call me, I said and got down from the car.
I removed my keys and threw it at Kimberly and locked the car.
I knew your gateman will be around that's why I didn't bother calling before coming, Kimberly replied and unlocked the front door.
I followed Kimberly into the house smiling.
As if you don't know that I lock my door and take my key when going out. My gateman responsibility is at the gate and gatehouse not in my apartment, I replied.
Whatever, Kimberly sighed.
Hope I didn't keep you waiting for too long? I asked.
I turned and looked at Kimberly when I didn't get any reply.
You look moody, anything wrong? I asked.
Hmm. I'm fine, Kimberly said and collapsed on the sofa.
Too dull to be fine, I said.
I walked to Kimberly and caressed her cheeks, she hit off my hand.
Guess what? I asked.
I'm not in the mood to guess, Kimberly said absentminded.
David spent Friday night and yesterday here. Infact I even dropped him off this morning before going to church, I whimpered with a grin.
So what happened? Kimberly asked.
Yesterday was so much fun. No dull moment. Even at night, he wasn't dull, I said.
Baby you just met this guy. It is only a week you met him. Don't you think it is too early to bring him to your house and jump into bed with him? Kimberly asked.
What's that supposed to mean? I asked.
It is even because of this guy that I came. Listen to me Ama, give it time. He is good looking I know but control yourself and study him...
I should give it time so you will snatch him, I cut in.
I love my boyfriend. To me my boyfriend is the most handsome guy in the world. I can never leave him for David, Kimberly said.
I saw the way you looked at David at the party, I replied.

I hissed and headed up the stairs.
As days went by, I found myself falling deep in love with David. After three months with David, I was head and hill in love with him.
I had thought that as months passed Kimberly will get to like him but she remained fussy over him. she even stopped joining outings that David was invited, I had no choice than to keep her out of my affairs with David which didn't bother her at all.
I waited for a year to pass before opening my intentions to get married to David. He was reluctant insisting he didn't have money.
He accepted after I told him to leave the bills to me.
To my shock, Kimberly showed interest and even joined in the joy when I broke the news that David and I were getting married. I lied to my friends that David asked me to marry him.
I didn't waste time putting everything in place for our marriage.
The next month, David introduced me to his parents and I showed David to pastor Charles.
Pastor Charles told me to fast and pray to be sure David is my destined husband. My love for David blinded my eyes, I lied to pastor Charles that I prayed and asked that my marriage should be announced to the church.
The wedding was announced and I got married to David in an elaborate wedding...
I wore a green gown on a black stiletto with a black handbag to match. I thought of applying makeup and decided against it. I'm married and don't need any guy being attracted to me, I thought with a smile as I arranged my hair.

See you in the evening, I said and blew David a kiss.
I arrived at Excon mobile and was told by the security man that the boss had said I should come to his office immediately I arrive.
I gave the security man a bow before rushing to my boss's office.
Come in, my boss commanded in his usual authoritative voice.
I walked majestically into the large office, my stilettos making noise on the tiled floor.
Good morning sir, I greeted with a warm smile.

I grinned.
I was told you sent for me, I said.

Thanks sir, I replied.
It's a rule in the company that when a staff gets married, he/she must be given a one month leave for his/her honeymoon. So I called to inform you that you are given a one month leave to enjoy your honeymoon of which you are to resume work on the 7th of next month...

As one of our most hard-working staff, we decided to add a little offer, my boss added and looked at me.

David was eating breakfast and watching super sport in the sitting room when I got into house.
Baby you are still at home? You haven't gone to check on the warehouse? I asked.
I will check in the afternoon, David replied and continued munching on his breakfast.
No baby it doesn't work like that. Adequate monitoring is very important. I don't trust any of my workers. You may just remove eyes and they get a deal, do the delivery and abscond with the money, I said.
I will check on it later, David repeated.
When? You haven't even taken a bath, I noted and David snubbed me.
I looked at David and sighed.
Anyway I have a surprise, I whispered.

My boss just gave me a one month leave and a trip with my husband to Dubai for our honeymoon. And also a hotel has been arranged there for us, I blurted.

My phone rang cutting me short.
I brought out my iPhone from my handbag and received the call.

Whatever work you are doing in that office, suspend it and come over to Amity guest house. Jeremy is here, Martha is on her way so suspend every work and be on your way, Kimberly said.

I dropped my phone inside my handbag and looked at David.
Please hurry up and go check on the workers. I need to go, I said.

Kimberly just called, she is engaged and wants me to come celebrate with her, I replied.
You go nowhere, David said and dropped the plate on the center table.
How? I asked.
You are now a married woman. Don't you think you should concentrate on your home and stop jumping around partying with friends? David asked.
Partying? No is not like that. It is my friend's engagement and I need to be there to celebrate with her, I replied with a smile.
Can't she do her engagement without you? David asked.

The phone rang and it was Kimberly calling, I shook my head and heaved, the call ended in a minute. Kimberly called again I held my breath and looked at the phone mutely, the call ended. Jeremy called, I tried to carry my phone.
Don't touch that phone, David ordered.
I can't do this, I retorted.
