Chapter sixty one

I once heard a story of a Chinese emperor who was lying down with his lover resting on his shoulder. He was so engraved by the way she looked that he couldn't stand to wake her up, but he had business to take care of in court . He cut off his sleeve so that his lover wouldn't get startled awake by his departure. That's exactly how I felt when I woke up next to Maya. I slid my arm from under her so I could slowly take my phone from the nightstand. I wanted to get things ready before she woke up.
"Bueno" the voice on the other side of the phone said .
"Hey vivy, do you think you can bring a platter of strawberries when you get a chance?"
"Sure ,is there anything else."
"A bowl of hot fudge and the best champagne we have . leave it outside the room please."
"Mmm she giggled , you are having fun today ."
"I refuse to comment on that , where are you right now ."
"In the living room , cleaning."
"When you are done , get to the guest house and that would be all for the rest of the day."
"Thank you Mr,Archer , you are a wonderful man "
"No, thank you Vivy."
I hang up the phone, Maya was still sleeping and I didn't feel like going anywhere,so I crawled down into bed until I heard the voice of vivy bringing up the cart. The noise must have woken Maya because she was smiling , I hopped up wrapped a robe around my naked body and pulled the cart into the room. I set it at the foot of the bed . Then I sat on the bed so that I can face Maya with my legs open. I wanted to be first thing she saw when she woke up. She grabbed the base of my leg. Stroking her fingers towards my things .
" You still want more huh?"
Her palm slipped to the shaft.
"Nope." I pulled away and dipped a strawberry in chocolate . She propped herself up and opened her mouth so I could feed it to her . when she bit it drops of rose coloured juice dripped out.
"Oooh , "she sighed .
" That's exactly what I needed."
" There's more, I reached up to get another one but she stopped me.
"What was that for?"
"It's my turn , she said ."
"No it isn't" I darted at the bowl but she was faster , She had the strawberry dripping already.
"Come her " she said .
I opened my mouth obediently and she pressed the strawberry between my lips , I took the sweet tangy juice and relished the sultry taste of the chocolate. She was already going to grab another one , when I opened my mouth . when she reached out to give it to me , I took it from her hand and slipped it in her mouth .
"We should do this every morning, she said and Iaid back against her pillow.
" I highly agree " I laid down next to her and started running my fingers across her tummy, she stopped me .
"I want to see and feel you."
"We should. have a day for us , just the two of us. We need to bond wit each other , closely so that whatever happened doesn't happen again, I don't want to lose you."
"What should we do?"
"Anything and everything."
"Whatever comes to mind ."
"Okay Let me get ready then ."
Maya hopped in the shower as I dialled Mona's number.
"Knock knock" she said as she walked up to the bedroom door covering her eyes .
"Strawberry" I motioned to the cart
"Mmh ," she pretended to think about it,
"If you insist " she pulled a handful and started scarffing them down.
Maya had been doing her makeup in the bathroom, she came out smelling like Vanilla."Hey Mona , I'm so glad you are her " she popped up and licked the chocolate from her upper lip. Then she ran forward and wrapped her arms around Maya.
"You did the right thing , you know this was all your fault though."
"It is , I won't lie , I'm just glad you had the sense to listen ." she turned on to where I was seated on the bed .
"I'm going to head down to my apartment and get some clothes real quick, I'll see you in a few hours ."
"I'll call you a driver."
"That's all right . My car's In the garage ,I won't be long ," she kissed me on the cheek and walked out.
"Let's go downstairs " I said to Mona , I'm making you chocolate chip pancakes.
"Wonderful, she followed me down in the kitchen and hopped up a stool.
" How much do you owe on your house? ," I pulled a bag of pancake mix from the cupboard.
"What?"
"A car?" I grabbed a mixing bowl and set it on the island.
"No, "
"You've had that old thing since the nineties."
"If I wanted a new one I would buy it myself ."
I opened a bag of chocolate chips and sat it down on the counter , just far enough away that she couldn't reach it. She lunged forward to grab it , but I pulled it away .
"Not unless you let me pay You back somehow."
Mona pulled out another bag of the drawer next to her stool.
"No" why not , you doing something amazing . Heck you always doing something amazing .
"I'll give you a loan '
" you'll pay me as much as a doctor, I will die , before I spend all this money."
"You know I have a stock portfolio?"
"I was the one that had the company contact you ."
"They said I was on a phone list ."
She poured the chocolate chips in my mouth .
"I was not going to let her get away with being so helpful and being so kind to Archer without me paying her somehow.
" You are the only reason why I've been able to pull through all this while . she chomped down on the chocolate and swallowed. I just want you to be happy , for an old woman like me that's gratification.l enough. "
I poured the pancake mix in the bowl , then poured some water so I could mix it up . I then added the chocolate chips.
"That and good food."
"That too, but you matter more ."
"Thank you Mona ", I turned to the stove , so that she couldn't see me blush .
All is good now thanks to the wonders of your mouth.
I was mistaken,his face was burning with pure desire, his gaze was piercing and burning that I felt he would gobble me up if care was not taken.
*cough*cough*awkward*
I flung Hus finger away, speedily as if bitten by a poisonous snake when I felt Emily and Edens .heated gaze on me, how could such an Innocent gesture turn ambiguous in the twinkle of an eye.
I didn't bother explaining it so much ,knowing it wouldn't clear the air out about what was happening.
They already have a bias opinion on what happened already,moreover a clear conscience fears no accusations.
"I-I get the first aid " I incomprehensible said and I rushed into my room . I ran into my room as if being chased by the devil and locked the door tight. I located the first aid but stood before my dark brown mirror with built in mirror and became stunned at the view.
My face was scarlet red while my cheek continuedly burned with shame as I recalled the scene moments ago.

I got out of my car and delayed my walk to the back door. Laura was sitting on a crate beside the dumpster with a pile of cigarette butts beside her . she also had a pack of menthos on her lap.
"Are you done?" She asked when I got to the door and I pulled my keys .
I ignored her and unlocked the door so I could grab my apron.
"He saved your life ."
I whipped around to face her .
"I don't care."
"Maya" she stepped closer. I turned around to walk away but she got in front of me.
"Leave me alone." I tried to push past her but she was not letting it happen.
"No."
"Why do you care so much." I asked .
"He didn't hesitate. The second he saw me running into his house crying he was on his feet , ready to come to you and save you. If it wasn't for him you would be dead. Do you get it. She snapped her fingers to my face D-e-a-d." I moved around her.
"You loved him." She said
I stopped halfway to the lobby.
I could feel tears streaming down my cheeks, blurring my vision.I had to keep my back turned , she couldn't see my cry . I had already made a fool of myself countless times over him.
