Epilogue

Isabella's struggle to find her son, who had been kidnapped by her former future mother-in-law, was far from over, and she would spare no effort to achieve it. Her thirst for revenge was etched into every cell of her body. Her vow for vengeance was unwavering.
During one of her visits to Aléssio in prison, she told him everything her mother had done. However, the vengeful woman was visiting him and telling completely different stories. Imprisoned and cut off from the outside world, Aléssio didn’t know who to believe, and he couldn’t trust the prison guards either.
— Darling, Paloma told me all about the scheme your mother set up to imprison you and teach you a lesson, and to remove me from your life.
— My mother might be the worst person in the world, Isabella, but she would never do this to me. — Aléssio grumbled sadly — I’m her only child still here in Brazil; my sister doesn’t even want to see her. Why would she do this to me?
— Well, you’re in prison, so how can you know everything? I’m telling you the truth. If you don’t want to believe it, I’ll move on with my life and find my son. And I swear… Aléssio… I swear I will take revenge on everyone who destroyed my happiness, including your mother.
— OUR SON IS DEAD… — Aléssio shouted for the whole prison to hear. — You’re going crazy. Leave and never come back here.
— Your mother got what she wanted, but sacrificed her freedom to do so.
— GET OUT! — Aléssio shouted again, causing Isabella to quickly stand up and leave the prison, swearing revenge.
Isabella left the prison determined. She bought a ticket on the first flight to Mexico and planned to infiltrate the most dangerous mafias to learn everything she needed for a well-coordinated revenge.
In the mansion:
— Custódio, I need you to make this child disappear. — Griselda handed the baby to one of her henchmen and coldly ordered, — Take him as far away as possible. Throw him in the river, leave him with a priest, but make sure it’s far, far away.
— Yes, ma’am. — The burly henchman, who looked like a pit bull, melted completely as he gazed into the baby's expressive eyes. His eyes filled with tears, but he had to follow orders.
Griselda was a cold woman; she didn’t hesitate to imprison her only son to satisfy her desire to keep him away from Isabella, simply because the young woman was a sex worker and poor.
— As soon as the path is clear and that idiot disappears, pull some strings to get my son out of prison, Harvey. You know what you need to do.
— Do you think your son will forgive you, ma’am?
— Harvey… Are you paid to ask questions or to do your job? — Griselda raised her voice to her lawyer, making him completely submissive.
— I’m sorry, ma’am. I’ll do whatever is possible.
— And the impossible too. You’re well-paid to do more than just the possible.
The imposing, authoritative, and bossy woman was in charge and was confident that the entire cartel would serve her, and Aléssio would only be a son who would need her protection as soon as he got out of prison.
— That woman needs to disappear, and if that doesn’t happen, I’ll do it myself. — Griselda warned, finishing the last sip of whiskey with a cigarette burning between her fingers.
This confrontation was just beginning. Isabella and Griselda were determined to defend their beliefs and fight for their ideals. Only time would reveal who would truly win this battle.
