Have a good reason
Alpha Eric's POV
Sir, your meeting starts in an hour.'' My secretary announced to me.
“Alright.'' I acknowledged while my eyes were fixed on the screen of my computer.
After working for a few minutes, I stood on my feet and left my office. I found my secretary standing by my office door waiting for me.
He lowered his head and took the files from me and led the Way.
We took my private elevator and left the office.
We got to my private parking lot and met my driver waiting for me.
He lowered his head and opened the back seat of the car for me to get in before driving off.
In a few minutes, we were at the venue of the meeting.
I strolled into the hall and saw that a few people were already seated. I sat in my seat and waited for the meeting to begin.
"Eric.'' I turned and saw Elliott sitting beside me.
“You came early, that's unlike you.'' He spoke as he stared at me curiously,
"I don't have much work on me,'' I answered
“I see”. He replied.
In a few minutes, everyone arrived and the meeting begin.
In less than three hours, we were done and the meeting ended.
“Catch you later at the club”. Elliot spoke up as he stood on his feet.
I turned and gawked at him with disbelief
“When did you start coming to the club this often?''I asked , curiously.
He chuckled and ran his fingers through his hair,
“I'm interested in someone.'' He replied firmly
I raise my eyebrows and gave him a quizzical look.
“You, interested in someone.'' I asked with a chuckle, which made He sneered and nods his head.
“There is something so special about that girl.'' he said those words with a big smile on his face, one I haven't seen on him.
“I see, she must be really lucky.'' I replied and stood on my feet.
“Yeah, but she is a newbie who is playing hard to get.” he murmured
“I see.'' I scoffed and wanted to walk away, but he called me back,
“Let's forget about what happened the other day. I wasn't trying to touch you.'' He spoke calmly.
“It's okay, you know I don't like being touched.''
“I understand,'' He replied.
“So I'll see you in the club then.'' he asked,
“Hopefully.'' I responded and walked away.
“Back to the office?”. My driver asked as I entered the car
“No, back home.'' I replied.
He took a u turn and drove back home.
“Welcome Alpha.'' my housekeeper greeted.
I stared at him and realized something was wrong.
“What's wrong ?”. I asked,
“Your dad is here.'' He replied,
I grumbled and stepped into the sitting room.
I walked pass the downstairs sitting room and took the stairs to the sitting room upstairs.
I got to the living room and met dad having a drink.
“Good day, father.'', I greeted,
He glared at me and looked away.
“How are you?'' I asked
He ignored my question and took a long sip of his drink.
“As you can see, I'm not yet dead.'' he talked furiously, which made me grumbled and sat beside him
“You never told me you were coming.''
“Do I need permission to see my son.'' he asked in an annoyed tone
I rolled my eyes but did not say a word.
We both sat in silence until he spoke up.
“What are your plans? It will be full moon soon. You need to mark your mate and claim her as yours.'' He uttered those words as an order.
I groaned Frustrated and arched my body in the seat
“Can you stop this, father”? I demanded with irritation.
Dad frowned at me and I could see his eyes were filled with anger.
“Stop What if I may ask.''he yelled in rage
“You are an alpha who doesn't want to accept his mate, do you realize what that mean.'' he asked in annoyance.
“If this gets to the ears of your followers, don't you know they will lose their respect for you.'' He muttered those words firmly
“You have no choice Eric, I give you one month, just one month to mark your mate and make her yours or else I will be forced to do the unthinkable.” he voiced those words as a threat
I groaned at his words but did not say a word.
Whenever Dad says words like this, I knew he always meant it.
“I'm ashamed of you, alpha Eric.''he expressed those words like he meant it.
“You should be proud that you have such a beautiful and pure-hearted young woman as your mate, but instead you are rejecting her for no good reason.'' He added.
“I have a good reason for rejecting her!'' I blurted out madly.
“Which is?'' He demanded.
“She is too weak, extremely weak for my liking,'' I spoke furiously.
“Too weak ?”. Dad demanded in anger,
“Yes Dad, I can't let such a lady be my mate. I will have to be there to protect her, and I'm not ready for such task”. I explained in irritation.
Dad howled madly and stared at me with dark eyes. His bright green eyes were getting darker, and I knew I have to count my words.
“I'm ashamed of you, son, really ashamed of you.'' He repeated those words for the second time.
Ever since I became an alpha, dad has never said such words to me, but today because of that girl he looked at me in the face and said such hurtful words to me.
"Your duty is to love and protect your mate regardless of whom he or she is, and here you are blabbering rubbish.'' he spoke in a disappointed tone.
I felt anger boiled in my blood, but my wolf was silent. It seems he was happy with what father was saying.
“One month, Eric, I give you one month”. He muttered out those words as a threat, stood on his feet and left the sitting room.
''Damn it!'' I groaned furiously and threw the glass on the floor with anger.
I stood on my feet and Angrily went to my room.
I got to my room and pulled off my shoes and clothes in anger.
I sat on my bed, and tried to calm my nerve, but my blood was still boiling with anger.
I knew I needed a distraction, but I don't want Sophie. If I have a play with her, I might hurt her and I wanted to avoid hurting her.
I knew only at the club will I be able to get a submissive that could handle my rage.
Tiredly, I stood on my feet, opened my closet and brought out a simple black jean and a black T-shirt.
I put on the clothes and picked up a black mask in my drawer before leaving my room.
