Chapter 73

Everyone watched as Emily's body fell to the ground, almost as though time had stopped. Jason's heart skipped a beat as he watched her eyes closed shut and her skin become more pale.
He instantly shoved back the seat and rushed up to her as she landed on her side, looking almost too lifeless, as though the life that once resided in her had suddenly vanished.
"Emily!" Her mother screamed in horror as she stood up as well, while Jason held onto her head, raising it from the ground as his eyes scanned her entire body, trying to find a reason, a bruise, a cut somewhere that could have forced her unconscious. "what is wrong with her!?"
"I don't know." Jason said worriedly as he reached out and pressed two fingers agaisnt his neck, checking he pulse incase her heart was giving out. A sigh of relief escaped his lips when he noticed she was more than okay. "just call the doctor, she's still okay for now." Jason pointed out hastily as Kelvin stared down at Emily who laid in the comfort of Jason's arms.
Almost as though Jason was just holding a cold corpse.
Kelvin knew what was wrong with her and had told her time and again to stop or else she would end up either killing herself or her unborn baby.
He had noticed she was always having trouble holding down her food whenever she ate and would often rush to the bathroom and dispose of all that she even had in her system. She was becoming fraile and skinny to the point she was a dress size smaller than she was last week.
He knew the only reason would be because she was overly worried and had a nervous stomach. She lost her appetite and most of her happiness as well.
It was almost as though she had become a completely different person and it scares Kelvin a little. Knowing she was going to put herself at risk with her anxiety.
"the doctor is on her way." The maid said as she ran towards them, glancing down at Emily worriedly as sh watched her skin get even more pale.
The doctor, luckily enough rushed into the room within five minutes with a kit already prepared in her hands. She fell onto her knees and fixed her glasses with one push of her finger against the bridge of the glasses. She opened her kit and turned to the patient lying her head on Jason's laps.
The doctor reached out and held onto her wrist, feeling her pulse a bit and began to examine her temperature.
"She's not at death's door just yet. You can be rest assured." The doctor chuckled as she glanced at Jason's worried gaze on Emily. "take her onto a bed for further examination, so that I work well with her." She said as she stood up and closed her bag.
Jason quickly slipped her fingers under Emily's body and instantly lifted her off the ground, almost too easily as she was so fraile.
He walked behind her mother who led the way towards the nearest bedroom, with her hart racing dangerously in he throat as her body wobbled in worry for her daughter wo had seemed perfectly fine a week ago.
She quickly opened a door into a spare room, the first door in the corridor that only led to bedrooms.
She stepped aside and let Jason carefully walk through with Emily, without hitting her head agaisnt the frame of the door. He hurried to the bed and gently laid her down on the bed and stepped aside as the doctor walked past him to attend to Emily.
"if you would step outside for a moment as I work on her. I would rather not have much distractions as I work." The doctor explained as she glanced at the worried family. They all stood dumbfounded for a moment before snapping back into reality and nodding.
"please figure out what's wrong with her. She lost weight as well." Her mother whined as she walked towards the door with everyone. "bring bahe my Emily once more."
"You have my word." The doctor smiled out as she watched the family walk out and close the door behind them.
She sighed with a chuckle as she now turned to Emily, beginning to assess her condition as she touched around her arm.

Jason couldn't help the anxiety at the tip of his fingers as he snapped his fingernails with his teeth while her father, Valentine, paced around in nervousness.
Kelvin stood leaning against the wall and watching as Jason stared at the ground, almost seeming as though he was bound to get a heart attack. A chuckle escaped his lips as he glanced away, feeling the awkwardness of the air, knowing too well he knew why she was being sick when her parents didn't not know why.
She didn't want to tell him because she was just afraid of Kelvin's reply to the situation. He could either tell the truth or lie with her and protect Jason. But knowing Kelvin and his strong reluctance to the decision, she knew he wasn't going to take it easily.
"Kelvin," Emily's mother suddenly called, getting Kelvin to raise his brows in question. "did you and Emily get in a fight of some sort?" she asked and Kelvin shook his head in denial.
"Well… not really a fight but…" he cleared his throat with a nervous chuckle as her eyes widened in shock.
"What was it about!?" she asked in terror, getting him to glance to the floor instead, feeling cornered.
"it's best she explains it herself." He nodded to his own words as he glanced back at her mother. "it's a personal topic she wouldn't want me to explain without her."
"Is it about mating!?" She yelled out, getting Valentine's to chock on air as he stopped on his tracks.
"Darling, he said she will explain it." Valentine sighed out as he pinched the bridge of his nose. "let's just hope For the best for our daughter right now."
"But-,"
"She's perfectly fine." The doctor suddenly opened the door after a long while, startling everyone who then calmed down.
Her mother burst out in tears and rushed into the room, so did everyone. Kelvin stopped at the door with a small smile as he watched her mother wrap her arms around Emily who was very much awake but slightly weak as she smiled weakly.
"what was wrong with her?" Valentine asked as he patted his daughters hair, finally relieved she was okay.
"your daughter is in fact pregnant." The doctor grinned out widely only to have Jason and Kelvin chock out while her parents gasped in shock.
