Chapter 38

After new year, Jason went back to school, so did Anna. He will be graduating this year and a friend of his father has already promised him to reserve a seat for him in the computer department of his software company and Jason just can't wait to start working. And what's good? It's in LA, his home town, nothing can be more amazing than that. He has already planned out his life, after school, he will work for three months while living in his parents home and after that, he will get an apartment of his own where he will live the rest of his life.
Anna will get married and he will attend her wedding as her brother, she will have kids and he will be their godfather, life will be good. He didn't rule out a time for him to get married because he doubt if he will ever love another woman the way he love his sister, so marriage is out of his dictionary.
Time flew by and his graduation was fast approaching, and so is also a basket game. He had promised Anna that she will come watch it and he is not about to fail his promise, besides its been five months he last saw her and he really can't wait to see her again.
Veronica picked up her phone to find out it was her son that was calling her, she smiled and answered the call "spit it out."
Jason laughed at the other end "spit what out mom?"
"If you called me today on your own accord then it's a must you want to ask for something."
Jason chuckled at that "how can you know me so much mom?"
"Thank goodness you called me mom."
"So I guess I have my answer already?" He sighed "fine then. There is a school match coming up, I promised Anna she will attend and again, it's the last game I will be playing in the school and I really don't want her to miss it. So I'm thinking more like begging if you will let her come over, please?"
Veronica remained silent for some time that Jason thought his heart is going to thump out of his chest before he heard her say "she is in school, you have to call her to know if she has classes."
"Oh but it will be on weekend, she will come on Friday. The game is on Saturday so she will leave on Monday."
"Why not Sunday?"
"I promised to take her sightseeing, and I will do that on Sunday."
Veronica let out a breath "fine, I will book a flight for her."
Jason smiled "thank you mom. You are the best."
"You better keep an eye on her, it's the first time she will be visiting London. Don't let her go running off."
"You have my word mom."
"Fine, you can call her to come home on Thursday, now I have to go. I have something to take care of, bye."
"Sure mom, bye" he hung up and jumped up on his bed, throwing his fists in the air while shouting "yes, yes, yes, yes."
His roommate Douglas looked up from his laptop "someone looks happy."
"Yes I am" Jason answered after calming down.
"Care to let me in?"
"Not really."
"If you are inviting a girl in this house, I'm not going to allow it."
Jason gave him a smug look "then I will know who is going to free up the room for you when one of your girls visit."
"So which means I'm right? A girl is coming" Douglas grinned.
Jason found out he has been played by him and just rolled his eyes "whatever."
"Haha, this literally, is the first time a girl is visiting you. Damn, I almost thought you are a monk, though at first I thought you are gay, but after living with you for four years now, I think otherwise. Good to know you are in the game."
"Shut up" Jason said, she is my sister, he almost added but he didn't, and he don't know why he didn't. He picked up his phone to call Anna but decided to talk to her when it will be night time in LA.

Anna picked up her phone when the screen lit up, seeing Jason was the one calling, her heart immediately exploded in happiness, she fell on her bed and twirl a lock of her hair on her fingers before answering the call "hello."
"How are you?"
"I'm great. You?"
"Cool. I talked to mom today."
"Really, for what?"
"The game I told you about is this week Saturday."
Anna's eyes lit up in happiness "really? So, I'm I still going?"
Jason chuckled "that's what I talked about with mom today."
"So, did she agree?" She asked, she found out that she was really expecting his answer and also wishing already that it will be a yes.
"What do you think?"
"Come on Jason tell me. You know there is how mom act a times, you can't really tell what she will do."
"Not if I'm the one that asked her."
"So she said yes?"
"What do you think?"
"Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes" Anna shouted while rolling on her bed.
"Take it easy, it's late already" Joann her roommate chided her sleepily.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry" Anna apologized and instinctively lowered her voice "I can't believe she agreed" she said to Jason.
"You have woke up your roommate haven't you?"
"Will you blame me? I was just so happy with the news. Damn, this is too good to be true."
"Yep, but it is. So pack up, she asked you to go back home on Thursday against Friday that you will be coming here."
"Yes, when will I be coming back?"
"Monday."
"So soon?" She frowned.
Jason chuckled "easy feisty tigress, you have class and mom won't let you miss any. You are going back on Monday because I told her I promised to take you sightseeing, if not, it would have been on Sunday. "
"Oh, okay then. I guess it's still better than she didn't agree."
"I thought as much. I will pick you up at the airport."
"Where will I stay?"
"I will book a hotel."
"I won't stay alone."
"Of course not. I will be with you."
Anna smiled then "I can't wait to see you on Friday. "
Jason heaved a sigh with a beautiful smile playing on his lips "same here. I can't believe five months it's gone just like that, although it's the most agonizing five months."
"Yea" Anna chuckled "you will be coming home soon won't you?"
"Yep and then it will be work."
"I will move back home."
"No you won't."
"Why not?
"You will distract me."
Anna laughed softly then "mom might get a hint though. No need, I will just be going home every weekend like I always do."
"That's better" he heaved a sigh and so did Anna "I will be waiting for you."
A sweet smile spread on Anna's lips "I'm coming."
"I love you."
"I love you more."
"Nah ah, I love you most."
Anna chuckled lightly "I know."
"We will talk tomorrow."
"Okay, bye."
"Bye" he hung up and Anna hugged her phone to her chest, she really can't wait to see him. Oh how she is dying to see him already. She reminisced on their moments together and smiled herself to sleep.?
