Chapter 10: Saving Dianna and Little Hammington

Ivan's POV
I walked the street of Arcane with the plastic bag containing Harriet's decapitated head
All this madness will end today, I will kill her, I will kill the Guardian just like I killed her mother


I suddenly bumped into a lady walking by my side


"Hey! It's you! The crazy guy that wanted to drink the whole bar shop, Ivan right? Remember me? Of course you do, it's not everytime a pretty bartender attends to you late at night" the lady smiled


"Get out of my way" I said


"Don't tell me you really don't remember me, am Sophie Griffith, I introduced myself that night remember?"


"I said out of my way before I make you!" I yelled and she flinched while the people passing around looked and murmured


"So... sorry" she stuttered and I walked past her


Dianna and her baby's life is in danger, I must save her


Eric's POV
"Why is Dianna sweating so much Eva?" Gia asked looking worried


"The death slumber works by drawing it's victim into a world of her worst nightmare, Dianna is probably going through her worst fears right now and when she finally gives in and die in her dream, she will die in the real world too, along with her baby" Eva explained


"Dianna is strong, she won't give up that easily" I said


"Not when you are facing your worst fears Eric Hammington, worst fears is called worst because that's your weakest point, your Achilles heel, if Ivan doesn't succeed in whatever he's planning on doing, Dianna will die by nightfall, and her baby will die along with her" Eva said


"Then I shouldn't be standing here should I? I should be out there like Ivan, looking for a way to save my sister and my nephew or niece, whichever it turns out to be" I said and Eva placed her palm on Dianna's stomach


"Niece, it's going to be a girl" Eva said and Gia stood up


"She will have to be birthed, she will not die in my sister's tummy along with my sister, I will not allow that" she said


"So what will you do? What exactly will you do to save your sister and your niece?" Eva asked


"We'll find the Guardian, she was the one that casted this spell on her so we'll find her and end her" Eric said


"Do you think Aria is that easy to find?"


"Then what will you have us do?!!!" I yelled


"Ivan is already out hunting for the Guardian and I've heard he's a pretty good hunter that always catches his prey, now you can go on this same quest like your brother, or you can help me extend your sister's time thereby given more time for Ivan to get Aria" Eva said


"How do we do that? How do we extend Dianna's time?" Gia asked


"I told you a victim dies in the real world if she dies in her nightmare right? The only way we can extend her time is by preventing her from dying in her nightmare as long as we can"


"And how do we do that?" I asked


"Though the spell will weaken me but I can try and get one of you into the nightmare she's living right now, you'll need to protect her and let her know that it is not the end" Eva said


"I'll go, take me into her nightmare" Gia said and I held her back


"I thought you hated us and wanted us out of your city quickly, why are you helping us now?" I asked Eva


"I told you I had a vision of Dianna and her baby's death, as much as I want you all to disappear from my city because of the dangers you bring to it, I am the head of the witches and I have a responsibility to protect all witches, the little one growing in Dianna's tummy, she's a witch, a pure one, am here to protect her and only her" Eva said


"What do we need to do?" I asked


"To put Gia into Dianna's nightmare, I'll need a few things so you need to get them for me Eric. I'll need ashwood, mushroot and powdered limestone, you should be able to find all this in the shop down the street"


"I'll be back" I said as I went of to get the needed ingredients


Ivan's POV
I walked into Aria's house at the far end of the bayou, her mother's body was no longer on the floor, meaning she did come here


I looked around the house but it was obviously empty


"Where the hell are you Aria Dixon?!" I said out loud


I suddenly heard some footsteps outside the cottage and I walked outside


"Show yourself, whoever you are" I said


There was a sudden swoosh sound and by the time I opened my eyes, I was surrounded by witches


"I guess you are all Aria's underlings" I said and one made to attack me but I caught her by the throat


"Bad move" I shook my head


The others made to attack me but I caught them all, breaking their arms and legs
I grabbed the last witch by the throat and she gagged


"She.....she wants you to......to meet her.... at the city hall...... before midnight" she stuttered


"Thanks for delivering the message" I said as I ripped out her throat and her blood splashed all over me


Gia's POV
"She's panting, why is she panting so much?!" I asked Eva


"She's probably going through something bad in her nightmare, we have to get you in there fast so you can calm her down" Eva said


The door opened and Eric rushed in with the ingredients


"Here" he said and Eva quickly collected it from him


She drew two large circle with the limestone powder


"Place Dianna on one circle and Gia lay on the other circle" Eva said


"Am going take you to Dianna's nightmare, now there are few things you need to know, one you must not tell her what she's passing through on that world isn't real, if you spoil the legibility of that world then along with Dianna, you all will die in there, in her nightmare world, you will appear to Dianna as a stranger and you must not tell her you are her sister, those are the rules for this spell to work, you are only going in there to offer moral support so she can endure longer and hopefully Ivan will get to Aria by then, anything that happens to your body in the nightmare world happens to you here too, if you get injured there it will reflect on your body here and if you die in there Gia, you will be lost forever" Eva explained


"So much for being immortal" I chuckled


"Are you sure about this Gia?" Eric asked


"Am not a kid Eric, I'll be fine" I said as I laid inside the circle and Eva carried a dagger


"What the hell are you doing?!!" Eric exclaimed as she quickly grabbed Eva's hand


"To go inside Dianna's nightmare I'll have to link you up from the outside so it's either you want me to explain to you in details and waste the time we do not have or you let me do my job and try to save your little niece because honestly, I do not care if Dianna lives or die" Eva said and Eric let her go


Eva made a cut on Dianna's palm and she move closer to me


"This will hurt" she said and I smiled


"I've endured much worse" I said and she nodded


She made the same cut on Dianna's palm and on mine, then she began chanting some spell
At first I felt a burning sensation on the cut on palm, then the sensation grew and soon i could feel the burning sensation all over my body and the cut on my hand lightened up


"Is this supposed to be happening?!" I heard Eric's voice but it sounded so distant and before I knew what was happening, I found myself in a large barren land


"Where the bloody hell am I?!"......
