Book two (ELIJAH)

It angered him just thinking of how nonchalant she was, it was like she was disgusted by his very presence. He wanted to make this work, but she was not helping. His wolf surfaced wanting to prove to her that she was his. Lunging at her, he pinned her to the bed, his hands holding hers above her head with her thighs parted and his legs in between them. He could taste the scent of her on his lips. The wolf in him cried out possessively. He crashed his lips to hers roughly wanting to inflict both pain and pleasure.
She struggled, tasting blood as she bit his lip. Aliyah knew she was not in the mood for a fight both mentally and physically, he moved to her neck, nibbling on her mark, with his free, hand he made his way up her chest, the more she struggled the more she triggered the beast in him. She realized it, she stopped struggling letting him do as he pleased. Soon he caught himself. Elijah fought for control, pulling his beast back, this was not how to go about this. Shame cascaded his face leaving it red.
He got off her moving to the other side of the bed. They sat still for a few minutes before he spoke "I'm sorry I marked you "
“Are you sorry you marked me or sorry it was in public without my consent" she whispered curling herself up.
"I never wanted it to happen that way Aliyah. I was angry, but that's no excuse, I promise this is the last time I lay my hands on you without your consent"
"Good for you”, She whispered. “I am only doing what you wanted Elijah, I'm not perfect, never was I know I hurt you, but I was desperate. The pack was the only connection I had with my father, I felt overwhelmed and now I think about it, I've never truly lived at least not for myself". She gave a small laugh, holding back the tears gathering at the back of her eyes.
“I have been so busy trying to live up to prove I could lead the pack, I have no right to tell you to give us another chance, so I'll let you be, I'm glad you took over the alpha position it was... chocking the life out of me" she whispered the last part, her heart and ego clenching with each word.
Elijah felt his heart squeeze, he had not thought of things from her own point of view, how lonely she must have felt, her anger was just a means to let out her emotions, like a silent cry for help.
He understood what it was like to be in an environment where she was constantly doubted, she felt she had to show no weakness. His Aliyah had been dying inside all this time, her near-death experience only brought her pent-up emotions to the surface.
Looking at her curled up she looked so fragile, broken, she hadn't even had time to mourn her father properly. He would beg if he had to, but he would help her heal those scars. “Look at me Aliyah” he said gently, she refused to move. “Please” he begged, slowly she turned to face him, her body stiff and filled with emotions.
"If you really do not want us to work this out say the word". He knew she could not, despite her words, her eyes said otherwise.
She kept quiet, moving over he raised her to a sitting position. Gently cupping her face in his hand, he looked her in the eyes, wanting to bore into her very soul "reject me, Aliyah". She looked away, but he pulled her back to face him "reject me" he said again. This time softer than before with fear in his heart that she might say those words. "I can't" she muttered. Relief swept through him.
He held her close to his heart “let’s take this one step at a time, give us another chance. We'll wipe our slate clean and start over, all these years I thought I was doing you a favor by leaving, but I was wrong. I need you, Aliyah, I love you not minding your flaws, and you are perfect to me." His voice was barely audible but she heard him. They stayed like that soothing each other's pain.
He loved her, what she had wanted for the longest time since he returned, after all they have been through would it be wise to leave just like that?
She could feel her wolf begging to be with her mate wanting to have a feel of her male, the bond tugged at her heart filling her with relief at the same time uncertainty. She had to make a choice, she recalled how lonely life was without Elijah. If she allowed her fears to take over, another chance may not be granted to them. She would willingly take this free fall. “I love you too Elijah, but I still want to travel...see the world...live a little, you have to promise me that"
Nodding, he smiled, what he had been yearning to hear for years... finally. His wolf stirred suddenly aroused, sniffing the air noting her scent had been altered. He moved back a little to look at her, she stared back curiously as his eyes grew darker
“Wha-" she bit her lip holding back a scream as a bolt of pain hit her lower abdomen Heat, She was in heat, what perfect timing. Elijah made to move away, but she grabbed him pushing him onto the bed.
"I don't think you are ready Aliyah, I wouldn't want to do something you would regret" he hesitantly chipped in, his voice deeper. Elijah knew this was his final protest; his self-control was slipping and fast...
She worked her way up his body, pulling at his lower lip with her teeth a sly smile on her lips "we can’t disobey the call of the moon now, can we?”
A smirk formed on his lips, no further invitation needed as he took her to a world of their own. One that existed only when he looked into her eyes.
