Journals of Babida and Suzie (D1)
Journal of Babida the lumberjack - after marriage (Day 1)
So today in the afternoon, the young maiden Suzie and I finally got married by the riverside in Okunde.
I must confess that it was the most beautiful moment of my life, something I had lost hope to experience after my past love stories' setbacks.
The young maiden Suzie looked so magnificent with the white roses on her curly hair.
My goodness, during the wedding ceremony we were burning inside to kiss us whereas General Dipi, the circumstantial priest, had not finished celebrating our union yet.
Our witnesses, the henchmen Polo and Baba, were the greatest picks that could ever be. My wife and I will eternally be grateful to them.
We wished we had organized a big party to which everyone in the troop was invited. However, given the chaotic situation after the walking tornado attack, we had no choice but to reduce the size of the ceremony to a strict minimum.
Now my wife Suzie and I are staying in the imperial suite of a private hotel in downtown Okunde. We have no more lodging since the calamity of Edimo, the god of ruin brought down the administrative headquarters where I officiated as the Governor of the region but also had my private apartments.
Thank our ancestors, today Emperor Batang V sent us backup troops from the imperial city Ekule and the western village Okala.
Tomorrow morning, as promised to me by General Dipi, the men of the backup troops under his command along with the soldiers under my authority will start the reconstruction works of the administrative edifice.
For now, I am going to live in this amazingly scented hotel room with the love of my life, Suzie. The manager of the place, an old and nice woman, who although she was surprised by our unexpected visit, hastened to arrange the suite for the newlyweds that my wife and I are.
The old lady threw petals all over the room and sprayed the most exquisite fragrances: a savant mixture of aloe vera, minty, lemon, and woody notes.
I wished I could write a longer report of today but it's time that I drop this parrot feather and enjoy the rest of the night with the most beautiful woman of the Batang empire, my wife Suzie.

Journal of Suzie - after marriage (Day 1)
It's two a.m. in Okunde and I can hear the frogs croaking outside. My husband Babida is deeply snoring so exhausted he is after the highly emotional and energy-consuming events of the past day.
As for me, I have difficulties finding sleep. I can't get my mind off the incredible things that have been happening to me since last afternoon.
I got wed to the greatest hero of the empire and tonight we shared the same bed and built love. It was extremely torrid and my body is trembling right now as I am rethinking it.
The wedding ceremony was filled with intense feelings. I was too excited to lay my lips on those of my then-groom and my now husband Babida, even before the celebration was concluded.
To be honest, at some point I stopped following the speech of General Dipi because I found it a bit too long. Aside from that, he did a great job as an occasional priest.
Anyway, I'm very happy that he did accept the offer of my spouse to officiate the marriage ceremony because given the dramatic circumstances that prevailed, we didn't have time to properly organize the event.
He was a last-minute pick and overall he performed well. The witnesses Polo and Baba wonderfully played their roles as well.
Babida and I being both without any family member alive, the presence of the henchmen made the tie of the knot lively and colorful.
While exchanging the vows with my lover, I had a thought for big Momma and uncle Bibi. Though they weren't physically present, I do not doubt a single instant that they have been there spiritually throughout the wedding ceremony.
Now I'm looking toward the future. I have placed so much hope upon my union with Babida. I have this hidden desire to be a mother of a beautiful daughter and name her after my late mom, Anna.
I haven't spoken about it with my husband yet. However, I'm pretty sure that like most men in the empire, he is thinking about having a son who is going to be his heir and extend his lineage.
Well, we shall see what the ancestors have in store for us. Anyway, having a baby is not the top priority right now. We need first to quickly rebuild our home and get out of this hotel room.
We could simply go back to the imperial city Ekule and live in my grandmother's house but Babida, being the Governor of Okunde, must be here to fulfill his Stateman's duties.
And also I would like to help the village get back on track after being savagely turned upside down by the demonic walking tornado.
I could become a full-time nurse because that's something I have a natural talent for. I want to provide healthcare to wounded and post-traumatized imperial warriors.
I will talk about this plan with Babida so I can be hired as a medic for the imperial army.
