A mess

Hey what's the emer.." I started as I opened the door to the house, only to be shocked at the sight.

Every where was messy with broken glasses at every single angle, pieces of cups and plates and everything else. The chairs were turned over in a disarranging manner and even foam was on the floor.

What the hell went on here ?

" Cheryl... Cheryl " I yelled as I tried to walk around without stepping on anything that would cause a cut it bruise.

" Cheryl " I yelled and climbed the stairs to mum's room.

As I opened the door, my heart beat stopped, my eyes full of unshed tears, my brain wasn't placing what I saw. I pushed through the door and ran inside

" Adam " Cheryl said with a sob as the tears fall from her eyes. On the floor in the middle of the room was mum in a pool of blood, her blood and Cheryl kneeling beside her crying with her hands stained with blood.

" Adam " she called out again with a choking sound. I didn't know what to do. I had feared this. I should have helped earlier. With every once of strength in me I fell to the ground on my knees as the tears I didn't want to shed started falling without my consent.

The only thing on my mind at this moment is death.

" Hi bitch " I rolled my eyes and closed my locker before coming face to face with Alex who I must say looks good today with her blue romper and black high heel boots. I brushed my hair from my face and smiled.

" Good morning " I said

" Good morning too. I want gist " she said hurriedly and then grabbed my hand, pulling me out of the locker room.

" Gist on? " I asked her even though I knew what she was talking about. I thought I made it pretty clear that it wasn't a date but a study test.

We even have to present it today in front of the class.

" On Adam " she whispered and I almost laughed. Alex never whispered but I guess she was trying to be silent.

" I told you it wasn't a date " I said and stopped on my tracks to give her a frown.

" Yeah yeah they all say that. " She said and rolled my eyes again. " You better take meds for your eyes or you'd go blind. " She added and I rolled my eyes again.

Funny right I know

" Give me anything to think of. Any gist . I'm starving " she said stretching her palms out to me.

" Wait for lunch if you are hungry. I'm going to class " I said and walked away with a smile, ignoring the look she was giving me. I only had one thing on my mind.

To make adam my friend back.

As I got to my literature class I put my things away and then sat at the chair in the back beside the window with my earphones in my ear.

" Good morning "

" Morning "

A tap on my shoulder brings me back to the world as I am greeted with Cole's beautiful baby blue eyes. This boy just doesn't give up.

" Good morning " he said and then placed a bottle of water on my table.

" What for " I asked as I stared at the water then at his face again.

" For my favourite person " he said with a grin.

" We are not even friends " I said and frowned

Was that too harsh?.

" That's not what I mean " I added and took the bottle of water. " Thanks " I added and managed to smile.

" I will never understand you Betty. " He said and then stands up. I stare at him wondering what is on his mind.

" See you at lunch and bring your hot friend " he stated and gave me a wink before exiting the class.

I stared at the table water and then at his back before he left the class finally. A smile lingering on my face more than usual.

He thinks Alex is hot

Wait till I tell her and see the look on her pretty face.

It looks like today will be a good day. I just have to sort things with Adam that's all and then I'm good.

" So that's the end of this class. We will see in our next class which is Thursday and mind you there will be test " our calculus teacher started as he cleared his table after second period.

Everyone groaned with sadness and frustration at what he had said. Me, I care less because I am hungry.

Or because you know Adam is absent from this class

" The test will be done in twos and it will carry 75% of your grades this session " he added and smiled.

" Butthole " I muttered under my breathe before packing my bag so I can head to my next class.

" Good day class " he said before he finally left. People get up from their seats and move to their friends with frowns scrowls and murmurings and I'm sure it's because of what mr joshua our calculus teacher just said. Well I'm pissed too but I'm not surprised.

" Hey " I look up to be greeted by Shawn's deep blue eyes and a large smile.

" Hi good morning " I said with a short smile before backing my school bag.

" I haven't seen you around lately " he said, his eyes twinkling. I'm sure he meant to say he hasn't seen me since we went on our date last week or the week before.

" Yeah you too. I have been pretty busy " I said and smiled at him. With him my smiles come so easily, maybe because I'm starting to feel comfortable around him.

" So how about this Friday " he asked

" This Friday? " I asked

" Yeah on another date. " He said and scratched his head.

" Oh " I said and held unto the hand of my bag tighter. But today is just monday and he already wants to hold on to my Friday.

" I don't know. If I don't have plans I will be happy to " I said

" Okay then. " He said

" Got to get to my next class. Don't wanna get detention " I said, laughed and he joined me in laughing before I move to the exit

" Bye Betty " he said and walked away passing the other direction to his next class.

As I took my seat in english class during third period, I couldn't help but look around in search for Adam because he wasn't in this class again just like he wasn't in literature or calculus too and yes he has almost all of my classes with me. Thankfully Mr Mike our english language teacher wasn't around yet.

Not that I have gone over my lines, not that I am even prepared for the presentation. Trust me william shakespeare's english is so old and it's not easy to know which is which. And Adam is meant to be here because we are supposed to be going over our lines together like everyone in class was doing now.

Some odd people even went far in the sense that they were dressed like people on the covers of their books. They are just trying to show off.

" Good morning my honourable students. How was the weekend like for you guys " Mr Mike said with a broad smile.

" Oh I see people dressed like shakespeare's " he said and chuckled and we all had a share of our laughter.

I on the other hand had a look of disgust, how dare he smile like that when he made our weekends and lives a miserable pile of dirt.

I know I am exaggerating but it's true.

He also made Adam talk to you

Okay that's the positive part

Well all will be a waste of my time since Mr Adam isn't ready to show up to class and it makes me wonder if he is even in school.

God do I have to do our presentation alone, act like Romeo and then act like Juliet because I'm not looking forward to that.

" So I have good news and good news again class " He continued and then left his table to walk around the class . " But first I'm going to call out your attendance " he added

" Okay " we all said.

" Sally Bishops " he called.

" Here " Sally who was sitting at the front roll raised her hands up

" Good. Elizabeth Walkers " he called

" Here " I said with a polite smile. He nodded his head at me before moving forward again.

" Joshua Bassett " he called again

" Here " Joshua said in a very deep voice.

" Mitchell McCoy " he called.

Silence

I looked around the class for the hundredth time in disappointment because Adam wasn't in class. Am I going to fail my presentation ? That's all I am thinking of .

Also the fact that you are worried that maybe he has been hit by a bus.

But I saw both Cole and Shawn today and they both looked too happy so I'm sure Adam wasn't hit by a bus.

Maybe he is taking a break from school?

" Adam Rivers " Mr Mike called again and looked around the class with a frown

" Anyone seen Adam today? " He passed the question around.

" No " some said and some nodded their heads to say no.

" Okay then he is absent " he said and then cancelled his name off the list.

That's it, we have failed the test

But at least he said he has two good news, that should mean something right?.

That went on till he finished signing the attendance then he went back to his seat.

" So out of our time, twenty minutes is gone already. So out of forty five minutes, that means we only have twenty five minutes left for class but I won't teach you. " He said

Everybody cheered and I rolled my eyes at the lazy people in my class.

" Wait why ? " I didn't know when I asked out loud

" So what are we going to do in those twenty five minutes " Sally asked.

" Meaning no presentation? " Joshua asked too

" Well to answer your questions, we are just going to do something short in the twenty five minutes and we are still doing our presentation guys, it's just not today anymore. Next monday now " he said and everybody started clapping and chatting about it.

" That's good news one. For the second good news, I know how hard the old english must be for you so I have changed some things to spice up the presentation. You all are going to be doing Romeo and Juliet. " He stated

Oh would you look at that. We are all gonna kiss, not a scene I want to see

But on the bright side,

Me and Adam's butt are saved today. Hurray

" And you are all going to pick a scene and then use your own english for that scene. Cheesy and awkward scenes are allowed " he added and that did it all.

Everyone was joyous.

" Okay okay calm down. Just like I said cheesiness is allowed, I don't want you guys to go overboard too. " He added

" Yes sir " we all chorused.

" So are you guys happy with my good news " he asked with a grin

" Yes " we yelled.

" I have one more news. This is personal actually " he said. " I'm getting married " he added with another beautiful grin

Now I know why he is in such a good mood.

" That's so sweet Mr Mike "

" Are we invited "

" Is she pretty "

The class was going crazy

" Okay those are all personal questions and I won't answer all but yes she is pretty " he said and blushed.

I smiled at everyone's expressions

" And yes you are all invited to our wedding " he said

" Cool "

" If ... If I like your presentation " he said and everyone was silent again. " So give it your best. See you in the next class and have a nice week ahead " he said then packed all his books

" You too Mr Mike " we all chorused. As soon as he left I checked the time, we have ten more minutes before the bell rings for lunch, I better catch up on my reading but reading can't possibly be done in this environment with all of these chatty people.

I stood up from my table and then I left the class. I'm thinking library.
