Bonus Chapter - Two ❤️

It sure was nice to be back in an environment that had a dear part in my memories. Even though it was less likely that their field of flowers would still be looking so fresh and good to the eyes, it definitely would be awesome to have a glimpse before our stay in Dom's hometown would be over.

"This place looks so peaceful. Did you say Dad grew up here?" Ruby asked as her head stuck out the window to breathe in the wonderful festive air around.

"Yes. It is beautiful isn't it?" Unlike the last time we were in his hometown, we took a flight from the airport, so we had to get into town by road. That way we got to see a lot of the town. And we did see a lot.

From the heavily decorated beautiful houses to a busy, very lively market place from where we got some hair stuff for Ruby to roadside Christmas shows which I felt was beautiful regardless of how Dominic lamented about them disturbing the environment.

The sights were all just amazing.

Presently, we were making our way to Dom's house and since the route was quieter, it was a good time to just sit back and enjoy the amazing air around.

"Are we going to come here often?" Ruby asked as she turned to face Dom and I.

My eyes went straight to Dominic whose eyes were glued to his iPad. "Dom..." I nudged him.

"What?"

"She asked a question." Gosh sometimes he was just so unnecessarily into his work. Like just drop your goddamn devices for a few minutes, they won't run away while you enjoy taking in some fresh air.

"Uh..." he cleared his throat as he set his iPad apart and faced his daughter. "I am not so sure if that will work out, but we will see, okay?"

I just had to shake my head at his programmed response. Before Ruby could turn to face the front, I said, "We will definitely try to do this more often."

"Definitely? This is a one time thing," Dominic whispered into my ear in disbelief. And I totally ignored him.

He sighed and recahed for his iPad again which I was fast enough to smack out of his hand. Glaring at him, I said, "If you dare, reach for that iPad."

With surrendering hands, Dominic sat back, his eyes staring at me in wonder. "What is going on with you?"

"I should be asking you that question."

His hand went over my shoulder and he drew me closer into his sweet smelling chest... Okay, I am losing focus here. "What do you mean by that?" he asked quietly, his voice tickling my ear.

Okay, now I am really losing focus.

But I was not going to give in easily. I shook my head slightly and said, "Why are you being such a workaholic when it is the holidays? You should be having fun with Ruby and I, not tracking business numbers. You don't see me calling Tiffany every minute, do you?"

"I get you baby. But..."

"Mm- mmm. No buts." I shook my head. "No buts at all. We are all here to have a good time and you are included. I am not going to have another holiday being ruined by something you can always check later."

"What if-"

"If you happen to have an important impromptu meeting, you can be excused. But please, any other thing should be put on hold." I grabbed his thigh and squeezed whatever I could. "Dominic, you need this break."

"Hmm... okay Miss. Sands." His chin played all over my cheek before he rested his on mine.

Putting a finger up, I said with a touch of warning, "I am serious. I will break your iPad if you try any funny business."

"You sound so bossy, I like it." Okay, now I can give in. His low cracking, sexy voice was already making me crave his always electric touch.

I had tilted my body in his direction and had my lips drawing closer to his when a female voice said, "Okay lovebirds, out of the car."

We didn't even notice that we had gotten to our destination. "Janet." My legs flew me out of the car and soon, Janet and I were crushing each other... well she was crushing me, her hold was so tight... in a loving way.

"I am so glad to see you guys after a long while." Janet had hardly changed. Apart from her new braids, she actually looked fit like last time. "And.." she left my hold and walked towards Ruby. "This must be the ever beautiful Ruby, it is so good to finally meet you."

"Hi," Ruby quietly said as she let the woman hug her.

"God, you have grown so much. It is good to see you. Well, it is good you guys will be moving to New York soon, I will be seeing your beautiful face a lot."

Wait a minute.

The huge smile on my face crashed. Did she just say, moving to New York soon?

"Uh... Dominic," he had this 'oops I am in trouble' look on his face. "What does she mean by moving to New York?"

"Oh," Janet disengaged the hug as she faced us. "I- I didn't know you guys had not... Ruby, I want you to meet someone." Janet dragged Ruby away.

"Uh... Grace..."

My brows cocked. "Yeah? Dominic..."

"I- uh..." He cleared his throat. "I was thinking moving to New York soon will be like, okay since we have been living in-"

"Why on earth did you not tell me?"

"I was going to. But..."

"But what? Cat got your tongue everytime?"

"No, okay..." Dominic reached for my arms and he squeezed it gently as I waited for his response. "I am well aware of how difficult it would be for you and Ruby if we moved, that's why I did not say anything yet."

I scoffed unbelivably. "You sound like you have made the decision Dom, what then are you talking about?"

"I have not made any decision. Okay? I..." He took in a deep breath. "Oh God. Listen, I am working on somethings. I just need to finalize them. When I do, we will both sit down and talk about moving to New York."

"That had better happen Dom. I will be pained if you take this decison alone." The ache in my chest was most probably on my face and I hated that. Because then, Dominic would feel sad. But what could I do?

That earlier statement really took me aback and it was hard to process for a while.

"Let's go inside."

"Uh... I need some air. I will join you when I am done."

"Are you sure you are fine?" I nodded and he sighed before he gave me a little kiss on my right cheek and walked into the house.

It was not that moving to New York was a bad idea. It would have just been so sudden because there will be a lot affected. Talk about Ruby or my company, even our lives there.

My phone's ringtone brought me out of my thoughts.

"Hey David." It was exciting to hear from him after a long while.

'Hey you. How's it going?'

"I'm surviving. How are the wedding preparations?" He was getting married to his girlfriend of a year. Stephaine is her name and David always sounds crazy about her.

He sighed. 'Oh please, don't get me started. Anyway I called because I just discovered the craziest thing.'

"What's that?"

'You remember how about two or three years ago I called you and told you that Samantha is alive?'

I frowned. Why was he bringing her issue up? "Yeah?"

'Turns out she has a look alike sister.'

"Huh?"

'That sister is the real... You know what darling, you need to come down to Manhattan and see things yourself. You need to see this crazy stuff yourself.'

"Are you trying to pull my legs David?" What he just said made absolutely no sense. A look alike sister?

'Grace, come down to see things yourself.'

"Hey Grace," Janet's voice called from the entrance. "My dad wants to talk to you."

"I'll be right there. David?" I went back to the call. "I will try to come over maybe after New Year. If what you are saying is true, I have to come down there."

'Good call. Just let me know when you will be arriving. It will be so amazing to see you after such a while.'

"I know right. I can't wait to see you too. Goodbye David." He said his goodbye and I cut the call after, still a bit surprised at his discovery. Well, it was only a matter of time, I would be hearing it all myself.

But first, I have a family to be with.
