Chapter 51- Whispers In The Wind
Under the manor of the Carmichaels, Levi was bond by iron chains. He hung helplessly from the low ceiling. His body cold and his muscles were aching from the strain his body was under. Every inch of him was on fire. His skin burned and his head pounded in time with his heart.
He had made a blunder. He was well aware that he would be held accountable for his actions. However, he was expecting something even more terrifying. Seth was not the type of person to take any form of betrayal lightly. He had discovered the truth and had imprisoned him in the manor's cellar. No one else was aware of his presence, which he appreciated. Seth wouldn't have to make a spectacle out of him. As a result, Levi would be willing to accept whatever his father hurled at him. He wouldn't be confined there for long; He was sure of it. Seth would eventually cave in and decide that the penalty was sufficient.
"You, my son, will pay a heavy price for what you have done. "Whether you are my son or not, you'll be dead as soon as the wedding is done," Seth's grim voice barely reached his ears as he slipped into oblivion. "You'll be dead as soon as the wedding is over," Seth warned.

“Hay Crystal,”
“Hugo,” she nodded to knowledge him.
“Here,” he thrust a black sleek object into her hands.
“My phone!” Crystal almost screamed with relief. She had stayed up most of the night trying to figure out a way to contact Levi. Also, how to get out of school, she was a bundle of nerves.
“I found it in the car park. I fixed it too,” he smiled with a wink while pointing in the direction.
“Thank you, Hugo,” she gave him a hug to show him her gratitude and made her way into a quieter spot. She leaned against the wall at the far end of the building and inspected the device. It was as good as new. No damage at all. Crystal dialed Levi’s number. His phone went straight to voicemail. She needed him to answer. That one thought alone made her legs shake. She needed him. Not once had she needed anyone. Now look at her.
She tried again to no avail. The screeching of the bell told her she was out of time, so she left a quick message.
“Hay Levi, give me a call when you get this message,” she hung up and made her way into the building. The students were excited, and their voices reached an all-new level.
Thanksgiving gave them an extended weekend and most of the other teens had already planned and had parties lined up.
Crystal imagined what it would be like to be a typical teen. Crystal pondered this. Then again, she wasn't normal. The hairs on the nape of her neck pricked as she felt someone's gaze on her. Drake's dark eyes caught her eye as she casually looked around. They were the most beautiful pair of eyes she had ever seen. How at one time she wished she could lose herself in them. She now recognized him for who he really was. Evil, pure and simple.
This time she wasn’t going to show her fear. She wasn’t going to run away. Rather hold her head high and fight whatever came her way.
Straightening her back she closed her locker and walked past Drake as if he was just another boy. Her posture never faulted, and her expression stayed neutral. Inside she was a quivering mess but, on the outside, she looked completely calm and collected.
She walked into class and took her seat, pulling out her notebook and pen. She never made any notes. Just made it look like she did.
To Crystal school was unnecessary. By the age of twenty-one witches were married to a chosen match and expected to play wife. Unfortunately for her, Jeanette had chosen to marry her off on her eighteenth birthday which was fast approaching. Christmas Day would be upon her before she knew it and she had still to figure out a way to destroy the vortex. With Drake back and is intensions unknown, destroying the door to Athens had become more challenging. Crystal loved a challenge and vowed she would do everything in her power to succeed.
It didn’t matter how many complications she had to face. How many people she had to go through? She would make sure that portal could never be open again.
The principal’s voice echoed around them a deep voice that was toneless.
“Can all students please report to the assembly hall,” everyone groaned as they grabbed their things and got up to do as they were asked.
“Cry….st…al” her name was whispered over and over again as she followed the throng of students to the hall. She tried to block out the sound of the creepy voice to no avail. The chatter from the other students disappeared until all she heard was her name being whispered. Louder than ever before, each syllable sounded unnatural.
When she entered the hall, she took a seat at the back. Her skin had become clammy, and she felt like she was overheating. The sound of the school slowly came back to life as the voice became a distant hum.
“Today I have called you all here to deliver some bad and disturbing news,” the boring tone of the principal began.
“A body of one of our students was found in the forest last night,” the room erupted in loud and shocked voices and Crystal’s heart sank as the woman’s face flashed before her eyes. The stillness of the young woman’s wide eyes showed terror. Her gaping mouth that looked like she was in mid scream told a story of horror that held no voice. Crystal shivered.
“Quite!” the principal yelled, and the chatter slowly stopped.
“It is with great sadness that I have to bring this news to you all. Jessica James was a bright young girl whose life has been cut short,”
Jessica James. Hearing the name of the girl only brought more guilt to Crystal. She had left her there like she was nothing.
“I now pass you on to P.C Dane and P.C Moore,”
Crystal zoned out after the P.C Dane droned on about the importance of making someone aware of your whereabouts at all times.
“AAARRRRH” A powerful scream kicked her back to reality. When she turned in the direction of the scream, she saw Zara on her feet and shaking as she pointed in Hugo’s direction.
“She is a snake!” she stuttered in a high pitch voice. She looked at Hugo and wondered what he could have done to upset Zara. She was a girl known for saying she saw demons. She had been in and out of clinics.
