Chapter 25

Thomas looked at him coldly and boredom while Carl came in and brought a medal and placed it in his father's hand.
"It's used and looks lousy I'm sorry but you can consider it a gift from me!" He brought the juice to him to give it to him
"Dear Dad, you can't go out with an empty stomach!"
Thomas went with his son's happiness, and he was eating coldly without care, then he looked at the medal in his hand, and it brought back old memories to him!
"Where did you get this medal, Carl?"
"Ah this... It was a small gift wrapped in my room when I was living with you in the palace, the nanny told me it was a gift for me from one of them, I still don't know who it is?"
"It must be too expensive for you then."
"Nothing is more precious than my happiness with my father!"
Thomas grabbed Carl's hand, put the medal in his palm, and closed his hand.
"Keep it well, Carl."
"But!"
"Don't give it up to anyone"
Carl got serious about his father's tone and nodded in agreement while Thomas softly removed his hand.
Here's what happened that Thomas, Carl and then Rex did not expect...
Thomas turned to pretend he was delusional, but..!
Surprisingly, he sees his child through the mirror looking at him with spontaneous astonishment, and behind him is his servant, similar to Rex..
"Daniel...!" Carl pronounced it amazing!
Daniel gets close when he sees Carl, Rex and a third person he doesn't know! He touched the mirror as he looked at them, and his servant looked down on frustration.
"I was waiting to see you again, are we really twins?"
Carl smiled, too, and put his hand where Daniel puts it.
"Yes, Daniel, you are my twin."
The glass of the flask was scattered, while the mirror didn't even get a single crack.
"Dad what are you doing!" Carl said surprised.
"Is that our father?" Daniel asked excitedly.
Thomas walked up to Carl, pulled him hard from the mirror, and stared at Daniel sharply.
"I'm nobody's parent here, get it! Get off my face and don't show up to Carl again!"
Daniel shivered all over his body, his lips closed silently as his eyes filled with tears.
"Dad why even my twin would want to keep him away from me!" Carl said it wearily and then tried to push Thomas, standing firm, away from the mirror, to no avail.
"Don't listen to him, Daniel! We're brothers and we'll be back under the same roof! My dad is just angry because he broke up with his clumsy wife."
Thomas looked at Carl sternly.
"My mom is alive as well, Daniel, and I've started a separate family!"
"Shut up, Carl!" Thomas uttered it in anger, and he slapped Carl, which made the helpless Daniel lower his head with a lack of trick. He punched the glass from his side, and it shattered and his hand bled, so that his servant came to him to heal him, and the image of Carl and those with him had disappeared because of the smashing of Daniel's mirror..
"Where did you get that mirror!?" Thomas said, ignoring Carl's obvious psychological pain.
He looked at Rex sharply when Carl didn't answer him.
"We received a gift from an unknown person," Rex said.
"And you asshole, why didn't you break it!?" He said admonishing Rex
"Because Arles refused." Rex simply shrugged his shoulders.
"You mean it's going to be longer and more trouble! Are you a clumsy Rex!!? Carl is in your custody and you're neglecting him!"
Rex zeroed while Thomas grabbed him by the collar.
"Father Thomas, I am sorry but I will not disobey Arles." His features turned cold and his right radiated, and one wing appeared on the left, flapping by itself, and a draft of air appeared as he stared coldly at Thomas.
"Even if Arl had ordered me to kill you, I would, and you deserve a blow for your slap!"
He said it, and in an instant Thomas was at the end of the room banging his back against the wall and he fell to the floor, and with a quick movement Rex was across from him.
"Rex stop!!" Carl said nervously, Rex stopped, his current and wings disappeared, his eyes were back to normal, and he fell on his knees looking at Thomas silently.
Carl ran toward Thomas and anxiously grabbed his shoulder.
"Are you okay dad!?"
"Yes," he said, and then flickered Carl's arm and tried to stand against the wall until he straightened.
Carl looked at Rex and then looked down..
"Don't worry Rex, just a slap from a worried dad."
"A worried father! You're kidding, Mr. Carl!"
"I told you I'm fine Rex..."
Rex calmed down and looked the other way.
Thomas walked towards the door getting ready to go out, looking at Carl before he walked out.
"Carl, you'll know later... that your father's choices were right."
Then he left quietly.
Carl and Rex's eyes met meanwhile.
"Dad knows your dad Rex? He said he'll make you follow him?"
"Yeah, they were friends...maybe."
"Probably?"
"I don't know if it was a real friendship, but they knew each other."
Carl was silent and then got up inside "Rex arrange it, I'll be alone for a bit and when you're done we'll go out to visit!"
"is he okay?" Rex mumbled
Carl sat on his bed, his eyes roving about his new room, it was better than his previous house.
He threw himself, his arms wide, looking up, silently placing his hand on his flushed cheek.
"Tra... what is dad thinking? I don't understand," he said in pain.
"What prevents a brother from talking to his brother, and for a son to visit his mother! And to go out with his brother! Damn! Dad you're alone now... Take me with you." He said the last sentence, tears welling up and he put his arm over his eyes.
"I will torture you as you tortured me, I promise!" Carl muttered as he imagined his father's sad look on his desk as if he had achieved his goal.
He sat up at once, as if to infer something, and said with astonishment, "My father has always been sad! Why? Why didn't he ever seem happy?"
He stroked his forehead and clenched his teeth...
"The whole time I was only thinking of myself!"
He quickly came out of his room, saw Rex still tidying the place and he walked away and quickly walked towards him and started helping him amid Rex's astonishment, but he didn't comment.
Moments later he grabbed Rex's wrist and the other looked at him in astonishment.
"When we get back we'll finish now I want to get out, I'm almost suffocating here," Carl said seriously, and Rex nodded in agreement.
They got out of it, and the visit only increased Carl's sadness, but he controlled himself, he must continue and confront!
Then he arrived at Louis's house.
"What are we doing here, Arles!"
"I want to meet Eva"
"Eva? Who is this?"
"She's Louis' sister, I want to see her. She might know something about what happened to Louis."
"I know"
Carl turned toward Rex in surprise.
"I met Wei and he told me that a human of your father's age had killed him."
"Firstly he is not dead, secondly why do we have to believe Wai?"
"Since you know we are not human, let me tell you that one of our laws is not to lie," he said simply and with spontaneous confidence.
"You are so naive, as if everyone keeps the laws," he said, bored.
And while they were in this state, they continued to talk near Louis' house, when Louis' father came out..
"You two, can't you get away from the house? It's suspicious that you're standing here."
"Excuse me, uncle, but.. we wanted to know what happened to Louis, so I said maybe Eva knows something," Carl said, hesitatingly, moving his eyes here and there.
"Come on"
Rex and Carl walked in behind Louis' father and began to host them.
"Louis was telling me that he was doing some research on an unknown world, and I didn't really care about his words, but he told me that he was threatened after he learned of its existence and some things related to it."
"By whom?" asked Carl Lake
"You're not surprised!" The father said, surprised that the visitors were not surprised, and then continued his speech, saying "He says that he is one of the inhabitants of that world. Something is really wrong with what Lewis is looking for."
"So, because he was searching, he got what he got," said Carl, deducing, and then added to his bewilderment, "Can I see what he was looking for?"
Well his computer is already at the police station, so they took care of the details.
Carl looked frustrated and Rex was looking at him watching him throughout the conversation between them..
"Dad, do you have a visitor?" Little Eva said as she lowered her head, letting her long brown hair fall to the side.
"Haven't you slept yet, Eva?" Her father said it and then stood asking permission.
"Okay, that's all I have to say."
Eva looked at her father hesitantly and silently, then quickly pointed at Carl, looking into her father's eyes.
"That young man! I have a special message for him from Louis!"
Her father was puzzled as she ran inside and ran to Carl and handed him an envelope.
"When did he give you this message?!" Her father asked in amazement.
"The last time I saw him," she said, then bowed her head sadly, remembering her brother "He told me that no one should ever see her, not even Rex."
"Thank you, Eva," he said, and he and Rex walked out.
As he walks with Rex, Rex stops abruptly, while Carl steps forward.
"Sir Arles," Rex mumbled vaguely as he looked at the ground.
Carl stopped at him in astonishment.
"what?"
Rex sat on his left leg and bent the right, then bowed his head.
"I'm sorry I can't help"
Carl was surprised as he looked at Rex, then smiled abruptly, approached him and then came close to him too.
"You must be diligent to help, don't be a useless servant! You must do everything you can to do your duty as my servant, watchman, and escort here! Understood!?"
Rex nodded in agreement
"Until you know that people are not a commodity to be bought and sold simply to buy me from my father, you idiot, you want me to be what you are now!! No, and you even dare to adopt you to bear the name Smith! No, my dear, you will get no good from all this!? In the future, you'll remind me of that!"
He finally entered his house, remembered his mother and Matthew and stopped for a moment, gave a sad sigh and then walked towards his room, supported her door and opened the letter with some hesitation..
To my friend Carl, here I will tell you my conclusions and the result of my research!"
I'll start clearly, Carl, I don't trust Rex won't catch bad
How can I trust someone who is not really human!
Assuming that vampires are real, would you trust them!?
It's the same with these strange unknown creatures that have no name!
Maybe she's dreader than anyone you know, so you have to be careful...
Well, let me tell you what little information I have...
At first, they do not like to show themselves clearly to humans, so if they appear in the world of humans, they will try to hide their identity from their surroundings..
There is a contract, the type of which I do not know yet, but it arises between a person from their world with a person from our world.
This contract has no conditions for gender or age, just as they can leave the contract with one human being and move to another human being.
This contract lasts for a period of which I do not really know, and it may differ from one person to another. I think that the lengthening of the time of completion or incompleteness of the contract depends on the human being to a greater extent than the non-human.
Each of these had two black wings, mixed with a little of some color to a darker shade, But at first glance you think it's all black.
Each one of them radiates a red color in one of his eyes, which usually appears when they are angry and move their feelings with great force, so they make every effort for psychological stability so that their strength does not come out without reason..
