CHAPTER 14: CARING BESTFRIEND

It was in the afternoon when Kiesha was in her classroom taking a nap while seating on her arm chair. Aivy, her best friend gave her a hot chocolate drink so that she will be lively again.
“Here, take this best. This is a hot chocolate drink which I bought from the canteen. I hope you drink it so that you will be energized again. I did not expect you collapsed this morning.”, said Aivy.
“Oh wow. Thank you so much Aivy. You care for me a lot the whole day. I’m sorry about that. I did not also expect it to happen. I really made you disturbed today.”, replied Kiesha.
“Oh no no no. It’s alright with me best as long as you’re okay. I don’t want your parents to be worried more since your brother was not yet at home.”, replied Aivy.
“Oh well, yeah.. You’re right best. Thank you for the concern. I admired you a lot.”, replied Aivy.
“If it’s for you then, I’ll take the risk. We were best friends when we were in our childhood days. Right? I know everything about you already. So you can’t hide anything from me.”, replied Aivy.
“Well, yeah.”, replied Kiesha.
“Even when you have your first boyfriend. Haha.”, replied Aivy.
“What? Yuck! Hahahaa”. Replied Kiesha.
“No, seriously.”, replied Aivy.
“Alright, alright..”, replied Kiesha.
It was already late in the afternoon when the two best friends made their decision to go home already after class. When Kiesha was about to go to the library, she asked her best friend to go on her way.
“Ahm.. Aivy?”, asked Kiesha.
“What best?”, replied Aivy.
“I want to go to the library. You can go first if you don’t mind. I have to check a book in there.”, replied Kiesha.
“Mmm. I know you. Is it really a book you want to seek there?”, asked Kiesha.
“Of course best.”, replied Kiesha.
Suddenly, Justin came out from his room.
“Hey, Kiesha! What’s up? How are you?”, shouted Justin as he came towards them.
“Just stop calling me.”, replied Kiesha.
“Oooooh.. Something went wrong between these two.”, whispered Kenneth.
Aivy raised her eyebrows as he was staring at Justin.
“What?”, replied Justin.
“Okay. Fine. I’m sorry. Okay?”, replied Justin as he tapped Kiesha’s back.
“I said move away!”, replied Kiesha.
Kiesha then ran so fast and thought what happened as she was embarrassed in front of Kenneth last day.
“Hey Kiesha! Wait! Please be careful!”, shouted Aivy.
“Hey you! Could you please stop following her? Idiot.”, replied Aivy to Justin.
Aivy ran away and followed her best friend.
“Justin. What’s that? I thought you already told her.”, asked Kenneth.
“Told what?”, asked Justin.
“That you like her.”, replied Kenneth.
“I don’t think that Kiesha will surely believe me about that.”, replied Justin.
“So, what’s the point of telling me about it.”, replied Kenneth.
“Come on, let’s have a dinner and talk about it.”, replied Justin.
“But where?”, asked Kenneth.
“At home, of course. My parents were not yet at home. It’s only our maid.”, replied Justin.
“Well, okay bro. I like that.”, replied Kenneth.
The guys went on their way towards Justin’s car. Justin grabbed his key and opened the side of the car.
“Come on.”, said Justin.
“So, I am planning to buy us a meal from a fast food. Where can we buy bro? Or what resto do you like?”, asked Justin.”
“It’s up to you bro.”, replied Kenneth.
Justin and Kenneth headed their way to the street while Justin drove his own car.
Meanwhile, Aivy was searching for Kiesha. In a moment, she found her seated on a bench near a huge tree.
“Hey, at last I found you! Why did you run?”, asked Aivy.
“I just don’t want to see his face.”, replied Kiesha.
“Oh really, ayeeeee.”, replied Aivy.
“Oh just stop it Aivy. I’m serious.”, replied Kiesha.
“Yeah, alright I know. I just want you to be just you know cool down.”, replied Aivy.
“I don’t like him.”, replied Kiesha.
“Did I ask something?”, asked Aivy.
“I must go now Aivy. Bye. See you tomorrow.”, replied Kiesha.
“Wait, just don’t leave me. I am still waiting for my parents. They told me that they will pick me up in school.”, said Aivy.
“Oh, well. Okay. I’ll accompany you best. I’m sorry I just felt uneasy.”, replied Kiesha.
“Oh, did Justin bring his car today? He has a very nice car.”, said Aivy.
Kiesha did not care at all. As if she did not saw Justin and Kenneth headed their way outside the gate.
“Oh, bro is that Kiesha and Aivy? Can we invite them to dinner too?”, asked Kenneth.
“I’d love to but I think I made Kiesha badly hurt.”, replied Justin.
Aivy decided to take Kiesha a treat.
“Come on Kiesha. Sorry. Just don’t mind them. By the way, I want to treat you a snack.”, said Aivy.
“What? Oh no. You already gave me a hot chocolate drink lately. And that’s enough Aivy. I’m sorry I could not treat you.”, replied Kiesha.
“Oh, it’s okay. I understand. And I only do this because you’re my best friend. For better or for worse, we still make each other best of friends right?”, asked Aivy.
“Of course best!”, replied Kiesha.
The two best friends went on their way at the canteen. Aivy bought two burgers and 2 glasses of orange juice. She gave Kiesha the other.
“So, tell me. Is there something between you and Justin huh?”, asked Aivy.
“Oh no way. No. We don’t have any intimacy.”, replied Kiesha.
“You look so defensive. I am just asking haha.”, replied Aivy.
“Thank you for this best.”, said Kiesha.
“You’re welcome best.”, replied Aivy.
As Kiesha slowly opened the wrap of the burger, she decided to tell Aivy about what happened the last day between her and Justin.
“Ahm.. Aivy?”, asked Kiesha.
“Yes. You need something? Do you want more tissue?”, replied Aivy.
“No best. I have something to tell you.”, replied Kiesha.
“About what?”, asked Aivy.
“Between me and Justin.”, replied Kiesha.
‘What’s with that?”, asked Aivy.
“You know what Kiesha, honestly, I have also something to tell you. But I’ll listen from you first. Go on.”, said Aivy.
“Ahm.. You know what? Yesterday, I went to the girl’s comfort room. As I was heading there, no one was in the area. Except me. When I was about to rush to the room, suddenly, someone held my arms and when I turned back, it was him.”, said Kiesha.
“The who?”, asked Aivy.
“Justin. He grabbed me in front of his chest.”, replied Kiesha.
“Oh my gosh. Then what happened next? Did he kiss you right on your lips?”, asked Aivy.
“What? Your mindset is full of dirty thought. Of course not.”, replied Kiesha.
“So, what happened?”, asked Aivy.
“When he looked right in between my eyes, he suddenly pushed me away and told me he doesn’t like me. He doesn’t like poor girls.”, replied Kiesha.
“What? Why did he do that?”, asked Aivy.
“Because Kenneth just came out from the men’s room. I don’t know.”, replied Kiesha.
“He’s insane. You know what? Good for him that I told him those words last week.”, replied Aivy.
“Why? What did you tell him?”, asked Kiesha.
“I told him that my best friend doesn’t like jerks like him. I told him that I know he will just leave my best friend for no reason. I told him that he has a girl friend. Why can’t he focus on that situation?”, replied Aivy.
“Oh, wow. Really. Did you say that to him?”, asked Kiesha as her heart breaks.
“I’m sorry best. This is all my fault.”, replied Aivy.
“Oh no. It’s alright best. You don’t need to say sorry.”, replied Kiesha.
“My intention was that, you know. I care a lot for our friendship. What if he will just dump you huh. I’m not discriminating you because of family status. It’s because I knew that Justin really likes you. I can feel it best. But I am only reminding you that he has a rich girlfriend. Just stay out of it.”, explained Aivy.
“Yeah right. Do you think he likes me? After all what he did to me last time? He made me embarrassed with his classmate. He just pushed me away like a trash. What if rich girls noticed it? I’m sure they will discriminate me again. I don’t think he likes me Aivy. He is just a playboy.”, replied Kiesha.
“Yeah you’re right. If he likes you he will not make you to wait any longer. He will grab the chance to break up with his freaking girl friend and find a way to reach out to you and tells you he loved you. But guess what? Our graduation is coming. Still, he was not able to speak up. You know, I’m your best friend. I am just waiting that Justin would tell me everything about you. But he did not make a first move. I think he doesn’t like you after all. I thought he likes you but I was wrong. You know what, you should not stare at him Kiesha. He will just make you fall for him then, after that, he will just lost. What now?”, said Aivy.
The best friends continuously ate each other while Kiesha was staring at the wall while eating the burger.
“Hey best, you alright?”, asked Aivy.
“Huh? Yeah. I’m fine. Thank you for this best and thank you also for your advice. I’ll appreciate it very much.”, replied Kiesha.
“I’m sorry Kiesha but I can say that he’s not into you.”, added Kiesha.
“Well, yeah. You’re right. If ever I will choose, much better if Justin will like you than me. You know what? I dreamed of you and Justin would be together rather than Matilda.”, replied Kiesha.
“Oh stop joking Kiesha. Stop it. Not good. I never dreamed of him.”, replied Aivy.
“Who knows? Maybe he will come to me and tell me that he likes you ayeee.”, replied Kiesha.
“Hahaha. Never.”, replied Aivy.
“Oh. They they are. Mom and Dad. Come on, we’ll take you home best. Join us.”, said Aivy.
“What? Oh no. I’m shy. It’s okay. I have with me my bicycle. I can do it by myself now.”, replied Kiesha.
“Are you sure best? I don’t think you can. Just for this day. Please. Join us.”, replied Aivy.
“But..”, replied Kiesha.
Aivy helped Kiesha take her bicycle and placed it at the back of the SUV car.
“Hello mom, dad, this is Kiesha. My childhood friend. Remember when we’re neighbors when I was r years old that time? Me and Aivy always played together every afternoon.”, explained Aivy.
“Oh, Kiesha, hi dear. How are you? How you’ve been? It’s been a long time. Where are your parents? Are they okay? Send my regards to them.”, replied Aivy’s mom.
“Hello Ma’am yes. Of course.”, replied Kiesha.
“Ahm. Mom? Dad? Can we take Kiesha at her place? She has a bicycle but I don’t think she can use it this time because she just collapsed this morning. I don’t want my bestie to just collapse on the street. I hope not. So please, if you don’t mind, can we take her home safely?”, asked Aivy.
“Of course dear.”, replied Aivy’s Dad.
“Thank you so much Aivy for taking care of me the whole day. You’re so kind.”, replied Kiesha.
The family takes Kiesha home.
While the two guys, Justin and Kenneth arrived at Justin’s place.
“Hey bro, I think we need to go for a drive thru. You want?”, asked Justin.
“Ahm. Justin, I think we don’t need for a drive thru now because at the very moment, I am now very hungry. Can we just eat inside bro?”, asked Kenneth.
“Oh sure. Well yeah.”, replied Kenneth.
“Thanks! Come on now.”, replied Kenneth.
“Here, take this bill.”, added him.
“Oh no no. It’s okay. I will be the one who will pay for it bro. Thanks!”, replied Justin.
“Alright. As you say so.”, replied Kenneth.
The two guys choose the meal they want to eat. After, they pay the total amount of bill. They were just waiting for the food to be served on their table.
“So, going back. Tell me exactly in the eye. Do you like Kiesha huh?”, asked Kenneth.
“Yes I do.”, replied Justin.
“What? Wow! I can’t believe you liked..”, replied Kenneth.
“What, poor ones? Watch your words bro.”, replied Justin.
“No I did not say that. It’s you. How about Matilda? What if she finds out?”, asked Kenneth.
“I don’t know what to do and when to start of breaking up with her. I called, messaged and contacted her in so many way. On her phone, on her facebook messenger, twitter, insta, email but guess, she did not even have the time to reply to me. Guess what, her mother thought that Kiesha was in our house.”, replied Justin.
“Really?”, asked Kenneth.
“Yeah.”, replied Justin.
“So, when will you tell the truth? When will you ask Kiesha for her available time? Bro, graduation day is next next week already. Maybe you can have time to tell her bro.”, replied Kenneth.
“Alright I find a way. But I am really nervous because of these two factors. First, I am nervous because of Aivy.”, replied Justin.
“What’s with Aivy? Are you also in love with her?”, asked Kenneth.
“What? Of course not. I mean, she told me last time that she did not want me to be in a relationship with Kiesha her best friend because she thinks I might fool Kiesha, and play with her.”, replied Justin.
“Then, what’s the second part?”, asked Kenneth.
“Second thing is that, do you remember the time I pushed Kiesha away in front of you?”, asked Justin.
“Yeah, yeah I know. Because you think that I will discriminate you if ever I will know that you’re inlove with a not so rich girl right? I’m not like the others bro.”, replied Kenneth.
“Wait, did you already apologize to her?”, added Kenneth.
“Yeah but she doesn’t want to talk to me.”, replied Kenneth.
“I am just curious about why did you fall in love with her at the very first place.”, asked Kenneth.
“It’s because I find her attractive, intelligent and independent. Guess what bro, we both love that romance novel that I used to borrow. I also did not expect that she likes it too.”, replied Justin.
“What a destiny right?”, asked Kenneth.
Justin smiled and not later than an hour, their meals were already served and they ate happily.
“You know what, you should make the first move. But you should gonna break up with Matilda if you don’t want Matilda to ruin Kiesha. You know what I mean bro.”, said Kenneth.
“Yes. I will. We will come to that point soon. You know what, I don’t think me and Matilda will be together. I’m just confused of our relationship.”, replied Justin.
The guys ate together and continuously talking. Afterwards, Justin drove Kenneth at his place.
“Bro, thank you for the time. Please promise me that no one will know about this except us. I mean regarding with my love interest with Kiesha Jones. Just pray for me bro. See you tomorrow.”, said Justin.
“Of course, you can count on me bro. See you tomorrow. Thank you so much!”, replied Kenneth.
Justin drive back at his home safely afterwards.
