Miracle:

At dawn on the fourth day, the council and the entire court gathered in front of the great stone to witness the moment when it was removed.
The heavy rains had thankfully stopped, which made the meeting easier.
It was traditional, that a group of court maidens would raise prayers for the soul of the deceased convict, but on this occasion, the funeral songs were pronounced by the women of the pavilion and among them was Cítiê.
The emperor dressed completely in black and covered his face with a burqa, as a sign of mourning. This was very frowned upon because, after all, the deceased had died as a vile traitor, therefore she did not deserve the honor of lamenting her death.
The soldiers lashed out hard at the pair of monumental elephants needed to move the stone, and when the entrance to the pit was fully exposed, a cry of surprise seized every throat. The three lionesses lay motionless at the far end of the den, but in its very center the mighty male dozed. Everyone expected to see the bones of the former Lady Umara scattered all over the floor, however her body was completely intact and she rested seated against the hairy and magnificent back of the big cat.
"Umara, can you hear me?" Do you still live?
The deep voice of the man reigned over the entire great courtyard. Slowly, the woman's eyes opened, searching the crowd for her lover, until she found him. When their eyes met, a smile lit up her face.
Great commotion broke out in the royal courtyard. What happened was unheard of, incredible, wonderful! The nobles present couldn't believe their own eyes. A miracle had happened before them.
**********
Umara felt weak. She had been surrounded by the darkness and deadly cold of the pit for too many hours. This terrible place reeked of fear and death.
When he fell to the ground inside it and the beasts began to prowl around, he thought he would die. He positioned himself on his knees, entrusted his soul to the Almighty and closing his eyes waited for the blow or the bite that would end his life. However, neither of those things happened.

Among the members of the pack, only the male approached her, imposing with his great coppery mane, looking her directly in the eyes, but he did not attack her or even lick her. He simply curled around her, like an enlarged kitten, and fell at her feet in a kind of stupor that would last all three days and nights. The females roared, hungry and watchful from their corner, but little by little they, too, fell into rapture.
Umara couldn't believe what had happened. She had no idea why this had happened, but she thanked the Almighty for having preserved her life and began to nod off as well, until she woke up again, called by the voice of her lover.
***********
Cassandra watched, burning with rage, as two soldiers descended into the pit to help the desert whore out of there.
Two of her plans had failed, first the cobra failed to kill her and now the beasts of the pit. Since the arrival at the Palace of that filthy camel worshiper, Cassandra had suspected that her presence would bring her great inconvenience and she had been right, no matter how hard she tried, she had never been able to see the nomad's future. It was frustrating, he felt as if the woman was a wall that his visions were unable to penetrate.

Also, to top it off, the damn thing had discovered the matter with the poison of the waters, had had the audacity to hit her, Cassandra, the next great empress of the continent and finally, had also discovered her as the hand behind the poisoning of the women of the pavilion.
With her quick actions, Cassandra hoped to silence Umara, and that what she had discovered would die with her.
In silence, he watched as the risen woman emerged from the pit and ran to throw herself into the arms of the man who received her, with an expression of undeniable happiness as the straggling soldiers were dragged away and devoured by the four beasts that had just awakened. Offering the court the bloodiest and most terrible spectacle they have witnessed in many cycles.
Cassandra knew at that moment that she had lost that game but surely she would not lose the war.
*********
Umara breathed a sigh of relief in the strong arms of her lover. Feeling his warmth again, the strong beating of his heart under her palm and his muscular arms holding her, felt like having arrived at the heavenly Oasis.
"You're alive," he whispered incredulously.

"Yes, I am, my Lord," he stammered.
"You're alive!" he exclaimed, clutching her even tighter against his chest.
"Yes, I am, my love," she sobbed through tears.
Just then they were joined by the girls from the pavilion and Cítiê, they didn't seem to get out of their astonishment. They hugged her and kissed her, and caressed my hair, while Burya shouted that this was impossible and Cítiê tried so that the Russian and the twins didn't break her bones from so many hugs.
Sarab stayed away, but as soon as she was allowed to approach, she burst into tears against her neck. Saying over and over not to scare them like that again, that what she had done was unforgivable, and that next time she would allow him to accompany her to the pit, that she would take care of the beasts. He shook her so much, taking her by the shoulders that they ended up hurting her. Umara's eyes filled with tears at so many demonstrations of affection.

Umara:
While I exchanged with the other Lunas, I noticed that Cassandra stood motionless at the other end of the large courtyard, gave me a look full of hatred and left, followed by her brother and Emir. I thought about following her and confronting her about what she had tried to do, but Cítiê started dragging me with her and the other women in the opposite direction, back to the pavilion.
On the way I thought that it was very strange that the Emperor was not present at the opening of the moat and even more so, no one protested at the obvious demonstration of love between my gardener and me.
