Buzz of desire
"okay, well," she huffed and looked around the room, "Do you have any plan this weekend, then? I just hoped that we could_"
I cut her off before she could let those thoughts trail any farther and get the best of her. "I'm going to be working through the weekend. With the gala coming up and the new club foundation being set down there's too much to do. And if you're bored enough to come in here and bother me before the day is over then perhaps, I need to look into increasing your workload as well."
Harriet stepped back; her eyes widened for a second before she schooled her features. I caught the flare of anger in her eyes before she closed and took a steadying breath. "No, I'm sure there's more to do that I just missed. Forgive me," she bit up.
I stayed tense in my chair until Harriet vanished from my office. Even moments after she was gone, I sat unmoving in the leather seat, listening for foot steps outside the door. After a brief span, I exhaled heavily and pushed myself out of my seat. As I moved through the building, I kept my eyes peeled for a stray assistant and made an escape to the roof.
Once the door clicked shut behind me, I was buffeted by the wind at the top of the skyscraper. My eyes drifted over the bright blue afternoon sky, covered with puffy clouds. The clouds reminded me of why I was up here, and I pulled the pack of cigarettes from my pocket.
I lit up and took a long drag, hoping it would kill the buzz of desire stirring within me. If only to have something else to think about besides Rhea. Anything except for what it felt like to have my cock buried inside of her and how good it was to feel her bare skin against mine.
My thoughts were only going further as my imagination ran wild. The sounds of New York alone weren't enough to get the Ballerina out of my head. It was the sound of the heavy door slamming shut behind me that pulled me out of my reverie.
"I knew I would find you out here if not in your office, my boy. Those smokes got you on a short leash. I told you when you were younger it was a nasty habit", My uncle's knack for finding me when I didn't want to be found was far from endearing.
"Hello, uncle, what can I do for you?", I put out the cigarette on the edge of the roof just as he leaned over at my side. I angled my face and looked at him with one brow raised in question.
"Just checking on you. You weren't in your office and it's almost the end of the day. Part of me thought you might have left early but I know you aren't the type."
"You saw my briefcase was still in my office."
"And I saw your briefcase was still in your office." He chuckled and slapped the back of my shoulder.
"Listen, kid, don't work too hard on the weekends."
"They're putting down the new foundation for the club on Sunday. I told the workers I would be there to oversee it." I sighed, regretting that I agreed to that before making the contract with Rhea.
"That's not too bad, I guess. How about after that you come over for dinner? I'll tell Annika to make that pelmeni you like," Nikolai offered.
I inclined my head, a chuckle slipping out. "She hasn't made pelmeni since the dough got stuck in her old wedding ring and she made you buy her a new one."
"Eh, yeah it's been a while." There was something weary in his tone as he looked out over the city. The lines on his face seemed deeper and I could see the smile on his lips slip away as he thought I wasn't looking.
"Are you alright?" I moved my gaze down to the street far below as I asked.
"Ofcourse, I am, boy. Who do you think you're talking to?", He grumbled back, putting on the guise of a grouchy old man.
"Hopefully, the mighty Nikolai Makalov can forgive me for even deigning to ask such a ridiculous question." I snorted and rolled my eyes.
"All is forgiven, my boy!" He slapped me on the shoulder again, and I glared at him. "Just come over for dinner on Sunday. Annika is complaining you don't come home enough."
"I have a home of my own now." I argued. There was also Rhes staying under my roof, and I wanted to bury my face between her legs.
"You know what I mean," Nikolai grumbled and smacked the back of my head. "Thick skull boy. Your tetya wants to see you more. We're getting old and I get to see you plenty around the office. She said she doesn't get to see enough of you and really enjoyed going to the ballet with you."
"Yeah, I'm gonna start having nightmares about your wrinkled face if you keep popping into my office. That was a good night", That side comment made my uncle chuckle and we fell into silence for a few moments, just observing the fading world around us.
It almost made me feel bad that when I thought of that night, my thoughts were about a certain dancer. All I could think about was Rhea. I wanted to see her smile and hear her laughter. And see the faces she made when she came.
"I'll tell her you'll be there for dinner on Sunday", Nikolai finally spoke up after a couple of minutes. I could have argued, but I knew I'd never hear the end of it if I declined the offer.
"Only if I can bring someone with me." I wouldn't have much time with Rhea, and I'd like to have her at my side as often as possible.
To get my money's worth.
