Chapter 1120

Abigail wasn't about to mess with Landon anymore. He looked like he was in a mood, and she didn't wanna end up dead 'cause he snapped.

The sky was pitch black, and nothing could be seen around them.

Landon didn't bother with a fire, so it was just them and the creepy-crawlies making noise all around.

Before long, Abigail was burning up with a fever, but Landon didn't even notice.

Next morning, he glanced at Abigail on the ground, her face all red and sweaty, curled up and shaking.

"Mr. Kennedy." One of his guys ran up, ready to say something, but then he saw the faint slap mark on Landon's face and froze. What the heck went down between these two?

Landon just said, "She's got a fever. Don't let her croak."

The guy snapped out of it and nodded fast. "Got it."

They had a bunch of meds with them. The guy dug through the bag and found some fever meds for Abigail.

But her clothes were still damp, so he hesitated and asked Landon, "Mr. Kennedy, should we change her clothes? Otherwise, the fever's not gonna break."

Landon, busy cleaning his gun, didn't even glance their way. "Then change her."

The guy was shocked. "That's kinda... inappropriate."

He already figured something went down between them. If he dared to change her clothes, Landon might lose it and kill him.

Landon paused and looked up.

The guy touched his nose, looked away, and went to grab some clothes from the backpack.

Abigail managed to open her eyes and saw the guy coming with clothes. She reached out and grabbed them, saying, "I can do it myself."

The guy looked confused. "You sure?"

She struggled to sit up and weakly said, "Of course I can."

The guy glanced at Landon, who still didn't react. He tossed the clothes to Abigail and left.

Abigail held out her hand in front of Landon, signaling for him to unlock the cuffs.

Landon looked at her with a blank face.

Abigail shook the cuffs again.

Maybe thinking she was too weak to run, Landon pulled out the key and unlocked her.

After flexing her wrists, Abigail grabbed the clothes. Landon just sat there, not even pretending to look away.

Abigail's temper flared. She threw the clothes on the ground and unzipped her jacket, starting to undress.

She took off her jacket, showing a T-shirt underneath. Despite her height, her chest wasn't much. Landon caught a glimpse and smirked.

Abigail saw the mockery in his eyes and got even angrier.

"What are you staring at? Your junk ain't big either," she snapped, her eyes darting to his crotch.

It was so dark last night, and she was half out of it, so she hadn't actually seen anything.

Landon didn't get mad. He looked at her calmly and said, "Whether my junk's big or not, I'm not interested in a man."

"As if I'm interested in you. Wait, who you calling a man?" Abigail yelled.

Landon's eyes flicked to her flat chest, and he sneered.

"What do you mean?" Abigail asked, fuming.

Landon ignored her, got up, and went back to the water's edge to keep cleaning his gun.

Abigail was so mad she started cursing, "You don't look like much of a man either!"

Landon's body stiffened, and he suddenly turned to look at her, a flash of murder in his eyes.
