Chapter 491

Having perused their chat history, Quinn typed in response to Orion: [No plans.]
Orion followed up with another message: [Where are you now?]
Quinn raised her head to glance in the direction of the school gate, then bowed it back down to transmit her location.

Every time Orion received her location, it always proved to be beyond his expectations—places he could never predict. Puzzled by why she consistently chose these peculiar locations, Orion pushed the thoughts aside and drove to Lindwood School of Arts, promptly spotting Quinn seated by the roadside upon arrival. Parking his car, he hurried over, calling out, "Quinn."

Upon hearing the voice, Quinn looked up at him. A smile graced Orion's face as he handed her the cup of coffee, saying, "It's hot." Caught in a momentary daze by his smile, Quinn returned to the present only when he placed the coffee in her hand.

"What are you doing here?" Orion inquired.
Turning to face him, Quinn met Orion's warm smile, his smile was pure and pristine. Lost in contemplation once more, Quinn found herself drifting.

Noticing Quinn's distraction, Orion waved his palm before her, "What's the matter?"
Startled back to reality, Quinn shook her head, setting the coffee down beside her, gesturing that she was waiting for someone.

"Waiting for someone?" Orion glanced at the school gate, perplexed. Did she know someone else attending the university?
Quinn nodded, averting her gaze back to the school gate, awaiting a person who would never arrive.

"Is it a friend of yours?" Quinn toyed with the edge of the coffee sleeve, opting for silence instead of a response.
Sensing her reluctance, Orion refrained from further inquiry, "Then I'll wait with you. Once he appears, I'll treat both of you to a meal."

As they sat together in their matching white down jackets, resembling a couple, no passerby would doubt their age or assume otherwise. Both were perceived as a couple.
Meanwhile, in his car, Alexander remained stationary, a few more cigarette butts littering the exterior.

A call from Kyle prompted Alexander to answer, though his attention seldom wavered from the duo by the roadside.
"Alexander, are you coming to the office today?"
"What's the matter?"
"Lori Ramirez is here." Alexander paused, his gaze flickering back to the two figures nearby, before responding to the call, "I'll be there shortly."
"Ok."
Ending the call, Alexander observed the pair for a few more moments before turning away and departing.
Lori, Xavier's mother, had come seeking Alexander to plead on her son's behalf, hoping for clemency.
In the meeting room, Lori rose as Alexander entered.

" Alexander."
Alexander nodded slightly, gesturing for her to sit and share.
Lori appeared noticeably aged, the rapid toll of grief evident since Valerie and the two children's passing. Unable to endure the agony of losing her children any longer, she sought out Alexander.

"Alexander... no, Mr. Alexander. Xavier's actions are known to me. Regardless of his motives, right and wrong are clear-cut. I've come to apologize on his behalf." Alexander lit a cigarette, reclining casually in his chair, silently listening to Lori's plea.

After a brief silence, Lori continued, "As long as Alexander is willing to spare Xavier, I am prepared to agree to any conditions."
