XLIII. Bruise Me

Raine’s POV:

They say love makes you blind.

They ain’t wrong.

“There! There!” I point at the perfect area to set my new game console. “Wait.” I held two fingers in the air. The three guards wipe the sweat on their foreheads with their forearms. I rushed towards the bed and threw myself on it. I flip from my stomach to my back and then back to my stomach.

With one eye closed, I made a rectangle with my fingers then zoomed in at the gaming console below the flat screen. I turn the rectangle towards the brand new candy stand, popcorn machine, and refrigerator.

I never have to leave this room.

I sat upward, “Okay. You may all leave.” One by one they left the bedroom. When the door closed, I jumped on the bed. “I love being wealthy! Wealth! Money!” Who said the money couldn’t buy happiness. Because I am loads happy right now.

I clap twice.

The lights turn off.

I clap three times.

The disco ball appears.

“Beautiful,” I whisper.

I grab the remote and switch on the tv and console. I close my eyes and the music scatters across the room and into my ears. “Is this Heaven?” I turned on the popcorn machine. The wonder scent drifts into my nostrils. “This is Heaven!”

At that particular moment, I slightly forgave Miguel for kidnapping me. Just a bit. I’m still mad that he did it and I’m still determined to set my revenge somehow.

The door inside the closet slammed open.

“Half a million dollars!” Leon’s voice distributes around the Pack House.

I clap once and the lights turn on.

Leon’s face was redder than my brand new game controller. He stomped towards me and threw down numerous papers. “You spent half a million dollars on-” He looks around the room. “Automatic lighting?”

“In the future, I may have to run away more and it will hurt my feet. If it’s not automatic, how else am I supposed to switch on the light?” I reason.

“I don’t know.” He walks around the bed. “Maybe with the lamp beside your bed?”

I puff my cheeks and look down.

“A gaming console?”

“You got one,” I mumbled. He got several.

“Popcorn machine?”

“You got voice command game storage in your bedroom,” I rebuttal.

“Mini-fridge?”

“You got one too.”

“Candy storage?”

“Everyone in the Pack House is so tall. You guys put everything on the top of the cabinet. I can’t reach it.”

He points at the ceiling, “Disco ball?”

I smile, “I’ve always wanted one.” My body shakes like an excited little girl on ice cream. “Plus, you guys kidnapped me! The least you can do is give me all of this!”

Leon folds his arms, “And the new toilet?”

I purchased one of those fancy toilets that warm-up and spray water into my butthole. I cannot wait to try it out later. “Girls got needs, you know!”

Leon stared at me, his mouth slightly parted but nothing came out. He swallows and clears his throat.

“We both know, I can’t do anything with anyone around here,” I said.

Leon growls, but immediately he covers his mouth.

“See! Your wolf will surface even with the mention of it! So-” I circulated my hand, “You know. I need to distract myself from my...needs.”

Leon grunted before he exhaled. He settled at the edge of the bed and dropped his head at his hands. I crawl towards him and settle beside the depressing body. “How is everyone convinced that you’re depressed with all these things?”

My smile widens, “We can have a fight right now.”

He turned his head towards me, his hair was slightly messy. “What?”

I head towards the door and slightly crack it open. I peek through the doors to see several people in the hallway. Silently, I closed it. Then, I clear my throat and puff my chest. “What do you mean I can’t have all these things!”

Leon took several blinks but didn’t respond.

“I hate you so much! You forced me to stay here! The least you can do is allow me a little happiness!” I circulate my hand at him, indiscreetly cueing him to go.

Leon clears his throat slowly and stood up. “I told you never to disobey me!”

I cover my mouth to hide the laughter that desperately wants to escape. I cannot believe this is happening. I rushed towards the night lamp and threw it across the room. Two reasons.

One, I got to make it believable.

Two, I didn’t like that lamp.

It’s ugly and whoever decided to put it there needs to re-evaluate their life.

Leon’s mouth gape open and he whispered: “Why?”

“Making it believable,” I whisper.

He glances at the lamp and frowns. “Why do you never listen to me!” He actually sounds miserable and angry. I grab the lamp from the other side and hand it to him. He shook his head. I push it towards him. He pushes it back. I push it farther towards him. He closed his eyes and threw it across the room.

He looks like he is about to cry.

The next two hours were filled with screams and threats, along with alot of broken items. It was unnecessary to break the items, but it gives me a reason to replace it. I wonder if I can take everything with me when I leave.

I sat on the bed and filed my nails. “Stop it! Please, stop!”

Leon laid beside me, and his fingers motion furiously on the GameBoy. “This will teach you to disobey m- Fuck!"

My body shutters and I look over.

Leon died in the game.

“Fuck! Fuck!”

Then, I shriek from the top of my lungs.

Finally, after a few seconds, I went back to filing my nails.

Leon exhales and looks around the room, “I’ll send someone up here to clean up later.”

I shook my head, “Mind link someone tomorrow.”

“Why tomorrow?”

“Because we’re sleeping together tonight.”

“What?”

“You just punished me. We aren’t going to sleep separately.”

He nods, “Make sense.”

I clasp my hands together and pull down my shirt. “Put a hickey here.”

Leon leans back, “What?”

“Well, you gotta put some sort of marking on me. Oh, and bruise me too. Just a bit.”

He went further back, “I repeat. What?”

“Making it convincing! Don’t slap me though. I don’t do well when someone slaps me.”

“And how am I supposed to bruise you?”

I looked around the room, but there wasn’t anything I could do. My eyes pinned towards his pants. “Use your belt.”

“Wha-”

“Just do it, so we can call it a night.” My voice was cracked from the constant screaming.

Leon fidgets slightly before he gets to his knees and takes off his belt. The bed shifted slightly due to his weight, and I held the largest urge to swallow. His slimmed fingers tucked between the edge and slid off the leather from the metal. I clear my throat and tilt my head as the sound of leather rubbing against jeans drift around the room.

Shit.
