Chapter 28

Courtney

"Thank you for doing this for me." Giovanni hugged me as I entered the office.
I nodded stepping back glancing at the desk. "It's no problem really. Do you think Alec will ever talk to Tony again?"
"Well, it's going to take some time. This isn't the first time Tony has landed himself in hot water." He chuckled to himself as if he were reminiscing about the past.
I remember what Alec had told me about Lucien and Tony's past. At one point in their lives, they despised each other. They fought over Caterina like cats and dogs, but in the end, it was Lucien who won. Lucien and Caterina may not be exclusive, but I think Tony got the point. But that's all a lie. Giovanni actually set the whole thing up.
He told me how Caterina became Lucien's obsession when he turned sixteen. He was completely possessive over her, and any man that even looked her way paid the price. Nobody looked at her without consequence.
"So through that door is the secretary's office." He pointed to the other side of the room.
"What do you want me to show her?"
"Just get her started by answering the phone and typing the documents that are on the desk. Her lunch is at noon."
I stepped in and Nicole was already sitting behind the desk waiting on me. She was on the phone so I guess she got that part down. She hung up the phone and smiled up at me. "You must be my brother's girl."
"Yes. Giovanni wanted me to get you started with the work, but it seems you got the phone thing down. Do you see those papers? He said to get started typing them up and your lunch break is at noon. You have an hour and a half for that."
She gave me a small smile as I stepped to the side of the desk, but she shook her head. I looked at her confused. "I got it. I'm actually pretty good at the computer. I've actually hacked into security systems a time or two for Tony."
I widened my eyes then smirked. This girl is the female version of Alec. Alec was a whiz at anything electronically and it seemed she had the same gene. "I'll just leave you to it."
I was about halfway out the door when I heard her. "Do you think Alec will ever forgive me and Tony?"
"He will eventually, but he's not mad at you. It's just Tony he's upset with." I paused as my hand rested on the doorknob. "Just give him some time to adjust his trusted friend is with his sister."
She looked down and I took that as my cue to leave her to work. I stepped out of the room and saw Lucien standing in the doorway. He opened his mouth several times, but nothing came out. I knew whatever he was going to say probably had something to do with Caterina. She had caught him whacking it moaning out her name.
"What is it, Lucien?"
"Alec and Tony..."
"They what?"
"They're working things out. I just need you ready just in case we need you to calm him down."
I nodded knowing what he meant by that. It seems I'm the only one that can tame his beast when he's out of control. It wasn't always that way though. At first, I was the reason for his fits of rage and outbursts. Now I'm the one putting his fire out.
I stepped out and walked by the dining room. I could hear two voices arguing and glass breaking. I stood and listened just to be sure I wasn't going to have to intervene. I heard Alec spit out angry curse words and punch something. "You're just fucking using her!"
I could hear Tony raise his voice and scoff. "Like you're doing with Courtney!"
I debated whether I needed to make an entrance or walk away. I'm sure they need to work this out on their own without me interrupting them.
I felt a hand clamp down on my shoulder. "He loves you. Don't listen to Tony."
Lucien's face softened and I started to walk away. His hand squeezed my shoulder. "Please. Just don't leave him, it would break him completely."
I decided to stay and walk through that door. I shoved the door open and their heads whipped to the side. Alec had his fists balled up at his sides with blood on his face. Tony looked slightly worse. His nose was busted and his lip was bleeding. Alec kept his eyes trained on me not breaking contact.
"Go upstairs, Courtney." He hissed out.
"No. Alec, I get that you're angry and feel betrayed, but you have got to get past this. Tony is a part of Nicole's life whether you like it or not. If it weren't for Tony, you would have never found her. He didn't even know that you had a sister so technically he never betrayed you! So quit acting like a girl and get the hell over it!!" I huffed as I tried to get my breath from letting out my frustrations.
For the first time ever, I saw the great and powerful Alec Vitale at a loss of words. His mouth hung open as if he hadn't just heard me tell him off about what I thought about this situation. I slowly stepped forward and pushed him back until his ass hit the chair. "Now apologize to him and get over it!"
He looked up in fear and gulped.
"You're right, I'll be good I promise, baby. Sorry about your face Tony." He muttered still looking at me. "If Courtney thinks you're good for her, then you're good enough for me. She's also right that if you hadn't found her then I'd never seen her again."
I was so worked up ranting that I didn't even realize Gio and Luca standing there smirking at Alec. I could feel my cheeks heat up as all eyes were on me. Alec caged me to the wall and leaned in. "You're sexy as hell when you're angry, baby."
He leaned in to kiss me, but I shook my head at him. "Not until you wash the blood off."
He stepped away and caught the wet rag Lucien tossed to him. Wiping off his face, he tossed it to the trash and resumed his position he had me in.
"Now, where were we?" He kissed my neck, working his way up to my lips.
I moaned when he pressed against my hips. He snuck his tongue past my lips vibrating on my skin. I didn't care if anyone was watching us. He was exactly what I needed in my life. If you had asked me if I would ever let my walls down, I would have told you hell no. Now if you ask me that same question, I'd say yes without hesitation. I found love inside of a beast and I wouldn't have it any other way.
A throat cleared making us break apart. "Not to interrupt, but I have an announcement. We are having a party to celebrate the alliance with Nikolai Vasiliev. It's in two days at his estate."
He smiled genuinely. "I'm glad to see you two have quit fighting it. Making love is far sweeter than making war."
Alec led me to his room and picked me up throwing me on the bed. I squealed as I hit the mattress. His hands trailed up my legs pushing them apart as he slithered his way up to level with my face. "You're so hot and all mine."
"Yours. I'm yours, Alec." I managed to say between breaths.
"As I am yours. I belong to you Courtney." I reached down to his belt working my way past the barrier. I wanted him more than anything I've ever wanted in my whole life.
His lips curled up in a devious grin as I growled. He reached down wrapped a hand around each wrist. "I want to do this right, baby."
I was confused.
I thought this was what he wanted.
To have his way with me.
He reached in his pocket and pulled out a bracelet. He held my wrist and place it around it fastening the silver on me. It had been inscribed. "Every Devil needs an Angel." At the bottom it had his name engraved. I looked to him as my heart was melting and suddenly it felt like my panties were melting too.
He brought my hand to his mouth and kissed it lightly. "So everyone knows who you belong to."
He pulled his shirt over his head and on his chest was a tattoo. It was an angel sitting with her legs pulled up to her chest and a pair of angel wings from her back. It said Courtney's devil.
I traced the angel wings then the words. "Oh my god, Alec. I-I don't know what to say."
He pecked my lips. "How about I love you my devil because I love you, Angel."
"I do. I love you so much, my Devil."
