Chapter 30

Chapter 30
Happiness POV
The Moonlight Pack nodded in unison, not daring to speak up and defy an Alpha, even if he was not their Alpha. The groups were made by simply splitting the large pack into six smaller groups. We all separated on different parts of the field, far from each other so that we won't have to worry about running into each other or any disturbance. Just my luck, my group had Benson in it. Louis tried to switch but gave up as Louis kept on refusing. Realizing that the stubborn Alpha will not budge and not wanting to waste any more time, Louis shot an apologetic look and turned back to his own group who was waiting patiently and quietly for their first instructions.
I crossed my arms and smiled forcefully at the group, I recognized some faces.
"Alright, we will start with a light warm up. You will run around this field ten times and then drop and do a hundred push ups and sit ups. After that, I will demonstrate a few attacking moves and you will pair up and practice with your partners." I heard some groans and moans but nevertheless, the group obeyed and started warming up. Only Benson stayed behind,
"How strong did you get Happiness? I doubt you improved much, if not at all." I looked down and avoided his eyes, my confidence disappearing all at once.
"I mean look at you, how can you be a warrior?" continued Benson. Something in me snapped, I glanced up and boldly met his eyes, a burning flame in my normal serene green eyes as anger clouded my vision,
"Do not underestimate me. If you want me to prove how strong I have gotten, fight me." Benson smirked,
"You want to fight against me? An Alpha? Okay, bring it on but don't cry too much when you lose," he sneered, taunting me. I glared at him, not backing down,
"Let's start now."
Hearing all the commotion, my group stopped warming up and came over, curious, intrigued, and anxious to see the fight. I let them since they could learn a thing or two from watching. took a deep breath and Mandel take over. It was the first time that the Moonlight Pack will meet Mandel. We shifted into our pure white wolf form, our bright cobalt blue eyes roamed around meeting stares of our group and Benson. Looks of astonishment and awe were thrown our way and many gasped could be heard. The most surprised of all was Benson, his mouth was agape and his eyes wide.
"You're a white wolf? What… but how?" he gasped out, spluttering over his words as he struggled to comprehend. In the werewolf world, white wolves are very rare, only one in ten million pups are blessed by the Moon goddess with pure white fur. White wolves can only be female, we are bigger and stronger than the normal female werewolves. Having a white wolf in your pack is a powerful weapon, as the wolf is born with an instinct to fight and skills to learn fast.
We blinked, acknowledging the stares before bearing our teeth aggressively at Benson, ready to fight. Ready to show him that we were not the same weak girl anymore, that we are a true warrior and lived up to our title. Everyone gathered around, forming a large circle around us, leaving enough room for the fight to take place. Benson smirked and shifted into his large and dominating pitch black wolf. His wolf was larger than mine, He towered over me and casting a dark shadow on my pure white fur. Lesson one, height, gender and size does not matter if you have the skills you can beat any werewolves. A cocky grin was thrown my way, full of arrogance and ignorance as if to say that this will be an easy fight.
We attacked first, skillfully pinning them, slamming them into the ground. They growled and used their strength to throw us off. We landed on our feet and glared at them before attacking again, only to be thrown off once again. They smirked as if to say that this was too easy.
"Happiness, let me take over. Trust me. We have to win this, we can't afford to lose." Mandel spoke, her tone strong and determined. I agreed with her and trust her completely, let her take full control of my mind and body. Regressing to the back, letting my wolf side take over my human side, letting Mandel take over my soul completely.
"Happiness, come back." called out Mandel, she sounded exhausted but happy at the same time. I slowly let my human side come back,
"What happened?" I asked, hope clear as day in my tone as I waited for the news.
"We won." Those words echoed over and over in my head, unable to believe that we actually beat Benson. Pride filled my chest as I congratulated my wolf. She truly was tough and fierce on her own, I thank the Moon goddess over and over again for her. Benson was still in wolf form, his battered and panting body struggled to stand, a huge bleeding wound on his side was already starting to heal. Once he was healed, his breathing gradually returned to normal. He walked behind a tree and shifted back, he came out shirtless and wearing loose gym shorts. He wordlessly handed me a plain shirt, long enough to cover my entire body when I shift back to my human form. I mirrored his actions, coming out when I was sure that I was completely covered. Everyone eyes were on me, looks of disbelief and also admiration filled their gazes. I turned to Benson and stated, loudly and clearly,
"Never underestimate me again." Benson reached out and held up his hand, waiting for me to shake his hand,
"You really did get stronger, I am impressed. I have never seen a werewolf become a full wolf and not lose control, losing their human side forever." Hesitantly, I reached out and shook his hand, it was the polite thing to do. Unwanted sparks caused a tingling feeling in my hand. After shaking it up and down once, his hand tightened around mine. I struggled to free my hand but he held on, refusing to let go. More sparks flew up my arm, the mate bond making my heart beat wildly, an invisible attraction pulling me closer.
"Please let go." I whimpered, the mate bond, the only connection between us, paining me, reminding me that this was my mate, the one I was destined to be with.
"You can feel it can't you? The mate bond." Benson spoke, his voice husky. I shook my head,
"No, I don't feel anything. Now let me go before I mind link Louis," my voice shaky and meek. Benson reluctantly lets go of my hand,
"I felt sparks Happiness and I know you did too. You are my mate and soon you won't be able to resist the mate bond." My confidence returned in a flash, his words angered me, with a defiant and fierce voice I spoke up,
"I will never be yours."
