Chapter 12 Facing Off with Cecilia

I had just hauled myself out of the pool, soaking wet and sprawled out on the deck. The pressure from the water had made me forget to breathe for a moment.

Finally, I managed to catch my breath, but my chest hurt like hell, and my nose burned from the water I'd inhaled.

The guy who pulled me out was a werewolf in a suit. His face was cold and unreadable as he glanced at the servants, and then he crouched down and looked at me with a bit more warmth. "Alex, are you okay?"

Cecilia, wrapped in a blanket and drying herself off, looked like she was about to cry. "Harris, it's all my fault. I just wanted to take Alex swimming, but he got too wild and pushed me in, dragging himself in too."

She then turned on the servants, "Idiots! Don't you know Alex can't swim? Why didn't you save him right away?"

"Cecilia, please calm down. It's our fault," the servants mumbled, heads bowed in fear.

I knew she wasn't worried about me; she was scared that if I really drowned, Silas would come after her. Now I finally understand what kind of life Alex has been living here. His autism might even be Cecilia's doing!
Harris helped me up and used a dry towel to soak up the water from my hair. I figured he must know Silas; otherwise, Cecilia wouldn't be so on edge.
Sure enough, Harris adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses and pulled out his phone. "I'll report this to Silas right away."

Silas's Perspective:

I was sitting in my office, waiting for Harris to bring back some documents I'd left at home. Suddenly, my phone buzzed. I glanced at the screen; it was a call from Madison, one of the maids.

I answered and put the phone to my ear. Madison told me Alex had a little accident, which immediately made me anxious.

"I'll be right there!" I hung up and rushed out. At the same time, I was off. Werewolves usually have a special sense when their loved ones are in danger, which is how I managed to save Alex from that gang of thugs before. Why didn't I sense anything this time?

Even though I was puzzled, now wasn't the time to dwell on it. I needed to get home and see what was going on.

As soon as I walked in the door, Cecilia threw herself into my arms, crying. She was soaking wet, wrapped only in a towel, and shivering from the cold.

"What the hell happened?" Her crying was grating on my nerves. I pushed her away and asked in a deep voice, "What happened to Alex?"

"Alex is fine. I just thought the weather was nice today, and the doctor said we should let Alex try new things, so I took him to the pool and invited him to swim with me," Cecilia said, still crying.
"Everything was fine at first, but then Alex suddenly pushed me into the pool, and he fell in too. Luckily, Harris was passing by and saved us."

After saying that, Cecilia leaned into my arms again, crying her heart out. "I care about Alex more than anything. Everything I do is for his good. How could he do this to me?"

"Did Alex really push you?" I was skeptical. Alex is my son, and I know him well. He would never pull such a prank. The more I thought about it, the stranger it seemed. I pushed Cecilia away from me.

"Silas, do you think I would lie to frame Alex? He's just a child. Why would I harm him?" Cecilia looked at me with a heartbroken expression, her tone filled with disappointment.

"I'm not saying you're targeting him. I just don't understand. You know Alex can't swim and is afraid of water. Why would you take him to the pool?" As I spoke, I couldn't help but feel suspicious of her. My gaze gradually filled with doubt.

"Just because Alex is afraid, does that mean we shouldn't let him try? As the child of an Alpha, countless eyes are on him. Every weakness is a potential danger! I'm doing this for his own good!" Cecilia's earnest attitude made me gradually dismiss my suspicions.

But I didn't jump to conclusions. No matter how reasonable she sounded, I still believed Alex wouldn't prank someone for no reason. Thinking this, I turned to the butler. "Bring Alex down. I want to ask him myself."
### Lucas's Perspective:

With a nervous heart, I came downstairs. Cecilia was sitting next to Alex's dad, crying as if she had suffered a great injustice. Silas, on the other hand, had a calm expression, revealing no emotion.

Harris nodded at me, giving me a reassuring smile.

"Alex, tell me what happened," Silas suddenly asked.

"Cecilia wanted me to swim and tried to force me to take some medicine. I got scared and accidentally knocked her into the pool while struggling," I said.

Silas's face darkened, and he looked at Cecilia.

"Alex, how could you think that of me? I just wanted you to learn self-defense skills. As for the medicine, it's the same one you always take!" Cecilia said urgently.

The servants chimed in, "Yes, it was indeed time for Alex to take his medicine."

"I don't believe it!" I raised my voice, seeing her lie. "You two were holding me down, so I couldn't move!"

I felt utterly helpless, stomping my feet in frustration, not knowing how to prove I wasn't lying. Who would believe me? If Mom were here, she wouldn't let them bully and frame me!

"Sir, everything needs evidence," Harris suddenly spoke up just as I was about to lose hope.

I looked at him with a hopeful, pleading gaze.

"Perhaps we can test the contents of this medicine," Harris said, walking over to Silas and handing him a glass bottle.
