Chapter 34

Isabella’s POV

After my conversation with Levi last week, things between us changed drastically. We kept our interactions strictly professional from then on. Looking back, I regret sharing all my thoughts so openly and challenging him.

I even stopped walking out of the room when he asked me to, almost as if he were my Master.

I let him touch me again, though not as intensely as before, yet I still craved more. I enjoyed it. Even begged him.

Ugh!

I'm sure Mr. L will be furious and disappointed in me.

Now, I'm certain Levi is angry with me too and might even fire me soon. I'm ruining my own life.

Reflecting on all this, along with the awkward moment of locking eyes with Levi and quickly looking away, is distracting me from enjoying the race, which frustrates me. I need to concentrate so I can finish my report.

This was my first time watching the race with my team colleagues. In the past, watching races at home, I sometimes felt the excitement, but without a dedicated team to support, it lacked the same emotional intensity. Now, with a team around me, I felt connected and hopeful that the two red Ferraris could lead the race.

"Go Kevin! Go Seth!" I cheered loudly, joining the chorus of voices from my colleagues. Kevin, our lead driver, held strong at the front, while Seth, battling from fourth place, was steadily closing the gap.

"Yes!" I exclaimed, caught up in the thrill of each lap. Cheers and sighs ebbed and flowed through the tense air of the pit, where every move, every overtaking maneuver and tire change, dictated the collective heartbeat of our team.

After a grueling fifty-eight laps, an hour and a half of nerve-wracking twists and turns, Kevin streaked past the checkered flag, securing first place by a hair’s breadth. The crowd erupted into thunderous applause.

"Kevin! Kevin!"

Moments later, Seth crossed the finish line in third. It was a triumphant start to the season, with both drivers scoring valuable points and Kevin claiming his rightful place on the podium.

"This is the perfect start," I exclaimed to Mrs. Sebastian and Franco, embracing them both as relief washed over us.

"I'm so happy. I'm sure the boss is over the moon too. We've earned this. We've worked so hard," Mrs. Sebastian beamed.

Franco squeezed my hand and smiled reassuringly. "Now you can relax," he said.

Before I could respond, a prickling sensation drew my attention. I glanced toward the paddock console and found Levi, Kevin, and Seth standing together, smiles finally gracing their faces after weeks of tension.

Levi clapped Kevin on the shoulder, his voice cutting through the hum of the paddock. "Great job out there, Kevin. You drove like a champion today."

Kevin nodded, still catching his breath. "Thanks, Boss. It was a tough race, but we pulled through. Huge thanks to the amazing team at Ferrari."

Franco pumped my hand as we joined in cheering louder. "Go Kevin! Go Ferrari!"

Seth chimed in, shaking hands with Franco and Levi. "Couldn't have done it without the team's support. Thanks, everyone."

Our cheers escalated, and I cupped my hands around my mouth in excitement.

Levi nodded, pride evident in his eyes. "You both raced phenomenally. This sets a strong precedent for the season ahead."

Cameras flashed as the trio posed for photographs, their elation palpable amidst the busy paddock. The live broadcast captured the essence of victory, resonating with millions of viewers worldwide.

As the ceremony concluded, Levi gathered us all for a group photo. "Let's immortalize this moment, team," he announced, standing proudly beside Kevin and Seth, their gleaming trophies under the stadium lights.

After the pictures, I stepped back, taking in the scene of triumph. This win meant more than just a race victory; it validated our hard work. I couldn't help but smile, knowing this strong start would drive us towards even greater success in the races ahead, possibly even securing a permanent role beyond my internship next season.

Levi was not just a remarkable boss but also a remarkable person, and I couldn't ask for a better opportunity than to continue working alongside him.

Later that night, Levi booked a local bar to celebrate our victory. The atmosphere was electric, the place packed as everyone rallied around our star driver, Kevin.

The music was pounding through the speakers, almost drowning out our conversation as Franco and I chatted.

I leaned in close to Franco, and he flashed me a charming grin. "You look absolutely gorgeous tonight," he shouted above the noise, taking my hand and planting a soft kiss on it.

"It's like the tenth time you've said that already," I teased, thinking he was exaggerating. I was just wearing a simple, nice blue jumpsuit—nothing fancy.

But I grinned back, enjoying his attention and compliments. "Thanks, again," I replied, feeling the warmth of his hand in mine amidst the bustling crowd.

Franco then offered me his cocktail. "Here, have a drink."

I shook my head, remembering the previous party where I had a bit too much to drink and it ended in my boss almost fucking me. "Nah, last time I got drunk at one of our company hangouts," I admitted. "Let's hit the dance floor instead."

"You're sure you don't want a drink?" Franco asked, a playful glint in his brown eyes as he followed me onto the dance floor. The music pumped through our bodies, matching the rhythm of our exhilaration after today's victory.

"Double sure," I replied with a laugh, reveling in the energy of the celebration and the beat of the music.

As the night wore on, around ten o'clock, I decided it was time to head back to the hotel. Since the bar was conveniently located downstairs, I assured Franco I could manage on my own. He nodded understandingly, waving me off with a smile as I made my way upstairs, still buzzing from the excitement of the evening.

As soon as I entered my room, I couldn't resist rolling around happily on the bed, basking in the afterglow of our recent victory. The next two days were a rare break before we jetted off to the next city for another competition. It was a brief respite, and I intended to make the most of it.

I indulged in a leisurely, soothing bath, letting the warm water ease away any lingering tension. Stepping out of the bathroom, wrapped in a towel, I absentmindedly checked my phone. Among the notifications was a message from Mr L.

Mr L: Hi, baby girl.

Me: Long time no see, master. I miss you so much.
