Chapter 8
When? Where? And how does it feel like this has ever happened? I can't remember it clearly, but it was really strange.
I decided to look for something around the table in this room and when I opened one of the drawers in the bookcase, I found a box containing dozens of letters that had been written and arranged very neatly.
I read the letters one by one to connect them with the letter I received. ADV, all the letters were given by someone with the initials ADV. Apart from that, all of these letters also contain romantic words such as dialogue in the theater drama Romeo and Juliet.
"What the hell? How come there are this many? This guy must be a crazy stalker. I can't let it go, I have to meet him and see what kind of disgusting he looks like.
I found a calendar and realized that tomorrow was Saturday, which meant tomorrow was the promised time to meet.
I waited for that day feeling annoyed and nervous. That bastard named Aiden De Velgmegeur makes me look like a cheap whore in the eyes of this family and I hate it. I want to teach him a very valuable lesson.
"You want to go?" Emily asked when she saw me sneaking out of my room. Today she looks very beautiful in a simpler dress, she even lets the cleavage show.
"Wow..." Without realizing it, I was amazed following my old habits as a womanizer.
"Wow?" Emily frowned as if confused by my ridiculous reaction.
"I-I mean, you look so beautiful in that dress!"
"Jeez, Ella! Stop acting like a womanizer. You're really weird. So, where are you going?"
"I don't want to go anywhere, do I look like someone who has plans to go somewhere secret?"
Emily stared at me for a moment, then glanced at her surroundings to confirm something. He took my hand and took me to a quieter place.
"Tell me!"
"What did you say?"
"Where are you going?"
"Me? I told you, I don't want to go anywhere!"
"Don't lie, Ella! I know you're hiding something from me. You'd better just say it or I'll complain to mother!"
"You mean you want to complain to that witch?"
"Witch? You also think that mom looks like a witch?"
"You think so too?"
"Yes, I have to admit that sometimes I think that mother looks like a witch because she is too strict and disciplined towards her daughters. But I'm sure she did all of that because she hoped that we could live a better life."
"I think she's just a greedy old woman who wants to sell her daughter to a rich man,"
"What?"
"She's just a greedy old woman, I've known one like her before!"
"Don't say that if you don't want mom to hear you!"
"I don't care if he hears it, it would be great if he actually hears it!"
"Oh my, it's you. So, you're going to see him again today?"
"Who do you mean?"
"I know you got a letter from Duke Aiden yesterday. He invited you to meet!"
I fell silent as I realized that it was a mistake because I was trying to hide something from him, it seemed like this wasn't something that could be kept secret.
"Actually, who is Duke Aiden De Velgmegeur?"
"You really don't remember or are you just pretending?"
"I really don't know her, Jane! I mean, Emily."
"Who is Jane? Since you woke up from your faint that time, you have been calling me Jane!"
"Forget it! Even if I tell you, you definitely won't believe it. Now you better tell me, who is Duke Aiden De Velgmegeur and what relationship do I have with him? Why did he send me that ridiculous letter?"
Emily sighed, then laughed a little as if she found my question funny.
"You once told me that you fell in love with a man and that man was named Aiden De Velgmegeur, who is the half-brother of His Majesty King Zavier."
"Really? I fell in love with a man?"
"Yes, you were the one who told me that at that time!"
"Hoooeeekkk..." I really feel like vomiting right now because I think back to the dozens of romantic letters in the box that I was forced to read. My eyes feel like they're stained.
"What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
"No, I'm fine! You'd better just continue with that!"
"You were often invited as a dancer to parties held at the king's palace and also Duke Aiden's palace. Because you met often, you fell in love with him!"
"That's not possible!"
"Isn't that possible?"
"Would you believe I fell in love with a man?"
"Why not? You are a woman, Ella and Duke Aiden are very handsome men, no less handsome than His Majesty the King."
"Damn, I hate handsome guys!"
"So did I guess right? You want to meet Duke Aiden somewhere?"
"I just came to see what he was like and why he wrote that disgusting letter."
"If you go, mom might notice because you're not home!"
"You'd better do me a favor by not telling the old hag that I'm going out, you understand?"
