Bonus Shackled- Alekos
Letting Viviane get Angel ready for our date night was not my smartest idea. I can barely keep my hands off her as it is, but seeing her so stunning in her red dress made me realize what little control I have.
I promised myself that I would behave during our first official date, especially since I want the entire city to know that I am no longer a bachelor. The exchange between Vivian, Angel, and me made me realize that I’m slowly becoming like my father-in-law. Ever since Wasp told the Lords about the Blight, my blood-brothers and I have become even more protective of Angel, but being a prisoner is no way of living. After a brief conversation, we came to the conclusion that the only way to let Angel enjoy her newfound freedom is by one of us being with her all the time. Once our honeymoon is over, the others and I will take turns each day to spend the day with her while the others go to work.
Finding a table at this restaurant would have been almost impossible if not for my family name. My grandfather and then my father worked hard to get the family where it is today. Even if Zak is the patriarch of the family, in the city, I am more important than him. I am letting him believe he won, while in reality, I am orchestrating his downfall. It won’t be long now before the power is given to me.
Stefan, Reyes, and I lead Angel to our table. In all the years that I’ve dined here, I have always sat at the same table. I made it clear from the beginning that I wanted the same table as it has a great view of the indoor fountain.
“Excited for our date?” I ask Angel.
She takes a moment before saying, “I don’t know. I’ve never been on a date before.”
I blink because I never realized what a jerk I have been to my wife. Though not entirely true. I always knew I was an asshole. I did everything in my power to make her think she couldn’t do better than me. Maybe, deep down, I never wanted other men around her until she was pregnant and barefoot, but I never once realized how much she missed in life because of her father. Also because of me.
Zak and his family are also here tonight. I chose this night wanting to present Angel to my uncle and warn him to stay away from my family. Anne is sitting between her mother and step-brother—my aunt’s son from her first relationship. Anne waves her hand at me. It’s been years since I last saw her. Makeup covers the scars left on her face by my father’s dog. I nod my head at her in passing.
We reach our table and I help her with her seat. “If you are a good girl, Sunday nights will always be date nights.”
Angel smiles. “I would like that.”
I sit next to her. Stefan and Reyes occupy the other two chairs.
Making her happy doesn’t require much. Besides, she’s been the perfect submissive wife for the past few days, but I miss the stubborn Angel. There was something on her mind, too. She’s been sad and looking for reassurance all the time. Each time I looked at her and saw her in silent pain, I did what I knew best—fucked her until she was better. Tonight, her eyes shine with happiness, and I am glad to have my wife back. As much as I love a submissive wife, I love Angel’s strong personality more.
A waiter comes to bring the menus. “Bring a bottle of the most expensive wine and a mocktail for my wife.”
The waiter leaves to bring us what I ordered while Angel takes a peak at the menu. The back of her dress is low and I place my palm on her exposed skin. When we are done here, we will take her to Paris and then to Dubai for a shopping spree. Angel is very frugal but I don’t mind spending all my money on her.
“See anything you like?” Stefan asks.
Angel puts the menu back on the table. “I might try the lamb chops with garlic mint sauce.”
“That’s one of my favorites,” I tell her.
Reyes looks at her for a moment. “Where is the jewelry we gave you?”
Angel looks like a deer caught in the headlights before sheepishly saying, “It didn’t match the dress.”
“I don’t care. You will wear them for the rest of your life because you belong to us,” Reyes snarls.
Angel doesn’t argue back. “I understand.”
Is it me, or was my wife acting strange for a moment? I will ask her about it later, as I want to enjoy the night. Viviane is an excellent planner, and she came up with many great ideas for tonight and the following week. She also had the hots for Angel from the moment she laid eyes on her but I made it clear to her that my wife is off limits.
A paparazzo approaches us. Many celebrities come here and it’s normal for paparazzi to dine here on a busy Friday night in the hopes for the next big scandal. I am guilty of many of them but I stepped away from the drama a year ago.
“Mr. Raptou, it’s been a while since you’ve been here.”
Usually, I avoid paparazzi like the plague, but it’s time for news about my marriage to be made public. I had to pay a lot of money to prevent photos from being leaked in the press but there have been rumors about my wedding.
I take Angel’s hand into mine and kiss the top of it. Photos are being taken. Angel is uncomfortable with all the attention, but she stays still and lets me do all the talking. “I’ve had a busy year. As you can see, my wife and I will be parents soon.”
More pictures are taken. “So the rumors are true. Congratulations on the baby. Do you know the gender yet?”
“We are keeping it a secret for the moment.”
The paparazzo asked me several more questions before congratulating us once more and going to another couple.

It is the end of the night and my uncle finally decides to come to my table.
“Alekos,” he says, not acknowledging my wife or blood-brothers. It doesn’t surprise me since he was very vehement that my role as a Lord should be anything else but a paid assassin. Neither was he happy that I married Angel. He knows what Carlos did to her. He wanted me to marry the daughter of one of his friends. Easiest no I’ve ever said.
“Zak,” I say back. Since paparazzi are always on the hunt for the next scandal, I don’t want to give them any reason to write any bullshit on the night that’s all about Angel.
My uncle stretches out his hand to shake mine. While I don’t want to shake it, I do so to keep up appearances in public. The moment I grab his hand, Zak pulls me to my feet and hugs me.
“I caught wind of what you are planning to do. Be grateful that I went after your secretary.” What the fuck did he do to Cherry? “This is my last warning: back off, or the next one will be your wife and unborn child,” he says into my ear.
Reyes grabs my free hand before I can stab Zak in the neck with the steak knife.
“You have no idea what you just started,” I snarl in a low voice, only for him to hear.
