Fourteen

I awoke early due to a knock on the door. Why was my mother bothering me when she knew it was Saturday? I walked out of the room, and my eyes narrowed. I felt like punching the person bothering me this morning because he was sitting in front of me on the couch in our living room. And he gave me a friendly smile.


"Don't smile at me. I'm not pleased with your visit. It's still six o'clock in the morning, but you've already arrived. What do you need?" I asked.





"Didn't you promise Mitch you'd go for a walk today?" Duke asked, frowning.


"How do you know?" I asked.



Duke laughed.

"Of course, I know because she’s in the town with Amara waiting for us," said Duke.



I was gaping.

"Don't you get tired, Duke? I still want to sleep in the morning, " I said.

"If Mitch can be there alone and without you, you can stay here and sleep until tomorrow,"





My head shook.



"I'll dress first," I said, leaving him in the living room.







I was dressed as if I didn't believe in myself. What made those people get up so early? After getting dressed, I left the room to look for my mother.











"Don't say goodbye to your mother, Zander," Duke said, looking at his phone. "She's gone back to sleep, and I'm done saying goodbye to her as well."









"What exactly are you looking at?" I asked.


"This is Don Augusto, he is one of our town's wealthiest men," Duke said once, showing me his phone.

"Who is that?" I asked him again as if I didn't know the man.



“I’m done saying who he is, Zander, just go back to sleep. Just don't come with us. I'll just find another date for Mitch there." said Duke.



"Bastard. Wait, is that well-known here in our area?"



"Yes, don't you know?" Duke asked.

I shook my head.



“Yes, he is rich but unmarried. I don't know why his story reached this age without being married. We know that he is in his fifties," said Duke.



“Maybe a lot of women are suing him, but he didn't like them at all. Because, based on what I heard, he was hurt when his girlfriend married another man," said Duke.

I was also curious about what Duke said about Don Agusto. I want to ask him when he comes home next.



"The family he has is good. They are not the types who like to insult and hurt others. So many love their family. "

I nodded in response. We had reached the area where Mitchelle and Amara were waiting. I opened the car window.



"Come on, girls," I told them.



I went out for a moment to go to the back so that Amara could sit in the front seat.



"Why are you frowning?" Mitch asked me, as she sat down next to me.



“Duke is bothering me in the morning. I still want to sleep. Where are we going? "I asked.



“Why don't you go to sleep now? I'll just wake you up when we get to where we're going. "

Mitch made me lie down on her lap, causing me to stiffen on the seat.



“Is there a problem, Zander? Lie down here on my lap so you can sleep a little bit," said Mitch.

I’ll just look to see if Duke heard what we were talking about but he's not because he was also busy talking to his girlfriend.



"I'm going to just lean my head here in the chair."



"All right."

Mitch also stopped talking to me when she was looking at her phone. I was ashamed, even though I regretted her offer. As a result, I couldn't sleep. The car stopped at a beach resort. And all three of them emerged at the same time, leaving me inside the car. Why didn't they say anything about us going to the beach? I wish I had packed some extra clothes. Duke rapped on the door. So I simply went out.

"How did you get here? Why are you being so sluggish now? You act like a lady. Don't tell me you were turned gay," Duke said.





"Bastard! "I'm hoping you told us we were going to the beach so I could bring some clothes," I replied.



"Mitch already bought you," Duke joked before entering the beach resort.

Mitch and Amara waved at us from afar. The dining experience at a beach resort is excellent because the tables are set outside and the diners walk on the sand. However, there is a roof to keep customers cool and dry in the sun and rain. The two ladies had already placed their food order. I'm sure they haven't eaten yet, particularly me.


"Sit down, Zander," said Duke.



"Are you feeling bad, Zander? I told Duke not to come to you but he insisted," said Amara.



"No, but it's like my soul was left in our house," I answered, and Mitch laughed.



I felt different because of her laughter and how beautiful she was. It's only now that I realize I want this woman.



"That's just missing the bath, Zander. Take a bath later after you eat. I also bought you a change of clothes, "said Mitch.



"Why did you suddenly become kind, Mitch?" Amara asked.



"Shut up, Miss, if you don't want me to report you to your parents," said Mitch. Amara frowned.



"That's enough. Let's eat first. " Duke's rebuke.



I woke up to the sound of my phone. I had a good night's sleep because I was so tired from our trip yesterday. I answered the phone without looking at the caller. But suddenly my spirit awoke when I heard the voice of the caller on the other line.



"Hello, Elodie. How are you? Why did you suddenly disappear yesterday without saying goodbye? " Mr. Yun asked me.



I sigh. When will this man stop pestering me?



"Look, Mr. Andrew Yun. The girls invited me to go home, so why should I let you know? You are too busy drinking. That is why." My answer.



"I'll visit you there." He says.

Suddenly, I panicked.



How did I get into this mess? I made the wrong decision to approach him because he could not be brought into a good conversation. He can’t understand that he got nothing from me.
