Chapter 7 Monica! Apologize now!
*-Angelina's POV-*
I never want to talk to Matthew again; I'm going to throw up if I see him for one more second.
I would let him leave, but I suddenly noticed that Monica had just walked into the dining hall, and she saw Matthew and me. So I changed my mind.
I pretended to be entertained by Matthew's answer and pointed with my chin to the empty seat next to me, "If you haven't had lunch, would you mind joining me?"
My invitation made Matthew the most enviable one in the entire dining hall. They must have thought I was attracted to the poor and handsome Matthew.
Matthew didn't act surprised. I knew him. He was so confident in his looks that he must have thought I was one of those simple so-called good girls who he would deceive.
"Thank you, Your Highness, it is an honor to dine at the same desk as you."
Matthew sat down next to me, and I pushed a plate of shrimp in front of him.
"Please."
"Thank you, Your Highness! Thank you for sharing your food with me."
He had a smug smile. I think he must be enjoying this moment. He likes being in the limelight. I should have realized he was a vain man, but unfortunately, I was blinded by love.
"Oh, Matthew, I think you misunderstood. I mean, please help me shell the shrimp."
I said at a deliberately higher volume, making sure that the dozen or so sons and daughters of the Alpha from different werewolf packs around me could hear.
The smile on Matthew's face froze.
Mocking voices came from the crowd, how jealous they had been of Matthew before, how much they were laughing at him now.
"Oh some people really have no self-knowledge. How dare they presume to eat the food of the noble princess. Of course they should serve the princess as a servant."
Matthew was so embarrassed that he lowered his head.
I pretended not to hear the taunts and tried to play the role of a naive and spoiled princess.
"Matthew, peel the shrimp for me. I want to hear the story of you and your fiancée."
" Yes highness."
I shouted as Matthew was halfway through peeling, "You didn't wash your hands! Your hands are damn dirty!"
Matthew shuddered at my words.
He must have remembered the words he had said before pushing me into the operating room, and now I gave them back to him.
Matthew looked at me in horror, "Are you... are you really not Angelina?"
"Matthew! Who is she?"Monica questioned as she suddenly appeared and pointed at me.
"Oh God stop it, don't point at the princess like that." Matthew got up in a panic to stop Monica from saying disrespectful things to me. He knew how scary girls could become when they got jealous.
I looked up at Monica, "May I ask who you are?"
Monica didn't see my face until this moment, and her expression shifted from anger to horror: "Angelina? How are you still alive?"
Fearing that Monica would say something she shouldn't, Matthew hurriedly covered her mouth and roared, "Monica! This is Her Royal Highness Princess Angela. Do not be rude to her again!"
After saying that, Matthew turned to me and apologized: "Sorry, Your Highness, this is my fiancée's sister Monica. As you can see, their sisters have a powerful bond. She simply cannot accept the fact that her sister has left forever. If she offended you with her actions just now, please forgive her."
"Oh so that's how it is."I pretended to be enlightened and looked at Monica with a sympathetic gaze, "I can completely understand how you feel. I'm sorry for your loss."
"Thank you for your kindness. You are the most forgiving and beautiful princess in the world. Monica, quickly apologize to Her Highness Princess Monica!"
Monica couldn't believe that Matthew spoke to her in such a commanding tone, "Matthew, are you crazy? How can she be the princess? She is Angelina. Look at her face..."
"Monica! Apologize now!"
"No! She can't be a princess, she must be..."
Matthew was too afraid that Monica would say the wrong thing, and he interrupted her, "Shut up! Monica! Don't be so impolite!"
Monica cried out in aggravation, "You scolded me, how dare you scold me?"
Monica ran away crying, and Matthew ran out after her nervously.
He did not run a few steps and returned to bow to me: "Sorry Princess Angela. Please allow me to leave first. Monica was distracted by her grief, she did not mean to offend you. I will make sure she comes back to apologize to you."
"I understand. It doesn't matter."
Matthew bowed to me again and then went after Monica.
The two of them were like apes performing in a circus in front of me, comical and ridiculous. I was curious what they would do after that, so I asked my bodyguard to follow them.
Yes, my grandfather made special arrangements for two bodyguards to enroll with me. They were twins. I call them Adam and Alex.
They did not disclose to the public that they were my bodyguards. They entered the school half a month ahead of me as a first-year college student and protected me secretly.
Before my last class of the afternoon was over, Adam sent me a candid video.
I put on my Bluetooth earphones and clicked the play button, and Monica's piercing voice soon came out of the video.
"You berated me for that woman! Is it because she looks like Angelina that you are like this? Was it after Angelina died that you realized it was actually her you loved and not me?"
Matthew in the video looked very nervous. He looked around while lowering his voice: "Keep it down, keep it down, baby, sweetheart, how could you think that? You should know that the only girl I love is you."
"Liar!"
"I swear I'm not lying to you. Monica, my Darling, you now have Angelina's wolf, and you are the only girl in the world with whom I have a mate bond."
Matthew's sweet words worked, and Monica stopped crying, but she still refused Matthew's hug.
"You always talk a fine game. You tell me, why did you call that bitch princess? Why did you peel the shrimp for her?"
