Chapter 16 - Never Cross the Alpha

Eloise’s POV



Xavier held on to my hand but not as tight as before. If I wanted to break away and leave him to suffer, I could. He looked embarrassed and seemed to realize that he was being far too rough.



However, I stayed behind. My breathing was still against him.



He turned me around, taking my hand in his again. Xavier began to guide my touch down his chest. My soft fingers were soon gliding over his abdomen, down to his lower abdomen, then to his hardened cock.

I shrunk my hand back for a moment as my heart thudded against my chest. We had never been intimate before and the closest it ever got was the night I fumbled over him trying to get to the other side of the bed.

When I woke up the next morning, I looked to the spot beside me and saw that it was empty. Xavier was gone.

"My Lady, you’re up!" Nora rushed to my bedside and began helping me with my morning routine.



I nodded and asked, "What time is it? When did Xavier leave?"



"Oh, it’s already noon. Lord Xavier also woke up later than he usually did, too. He left about an hour ago and instructed me not to wake up and allow you to sleep in. " Nora gave me a wide smile and continued,



"Something seemed different about Lord Xavier this morning, too. Well. He still sounded cold like he usually does. But I could see there was a brand new spark in his eyes "



As I listened to Nora talk, my mind trailed back to the events of last night as I rubbed my aching arms. Nora went to help me out of bed but upon seeing me, she couldn't help but let out a gasp of surprise.



"Lady Eloise…" Nora wiggled her eyebrows.



I looked down to see that the nightgown I had thrown on last night was loose. Because of this, it revealed the many red hickeys that peppered my chest and collarbones–the signs of last night's erotica play.



All I could think about was the way Xavier's lips felt all over my chest. The way his tongue felt against my skin. He was so close to…



My face turned red as I immediately clutched my collar. Heat rushed to my cheeks. "N-Nora, could you please run me a bath?"



Without another word, Nora hurriedly went to the bathroom to get the tub ready. Excitement ran through my mind. It seems like that the cold-blooded man also cannot resist my charm, I thought happily.



Soon after I was finally able to submerge myself in the tub. My thoughts were racing chaotically in my mind and I was attempting to quiet them down. I knew I needed a clear head to think about what happened last night.



It was truly strange. I did enough study to know that once werewolves became adults, it was much easier for them to control their desires even in the heat. Even though Xavier was clearly an adult werewolf, he still lost control last night.



I analyzed the situation a few times before I came to a conclusion. No one loses their mind like that unless they're on drugs… But who in the world would try to drug an alpha werewolf? Not to mention THE Alpha of the Leonards.



I remained lost in thought as I tried to get to the bottom of who could've done something so heinous.

Xavier’s POV



I kicked open the door that Vick and Stella were locked in. When they got sight of me, they got down on their hands and knees.



Like their begging would undo what they’ve done to me!



"My Lord, It was all my fault! Please believe that I had good intentions. I only wanted the best for the Leonard family." Vick crawled to me and grabbed one of my legs.



“How dare you talk about ‘what’s best for the Leonard family’! You were never one of us!” I kicked him away from me.



I looked to the soldiers who stood in the doorway behind me. "They are hereby banished from the Leonard family. Get these two off of my territory. I never want to see them again!"



Vick began to plead once more. "My Lord, please! I made a mistake out of impulse and temptation. Please kindly forgive us! I'm willing to do anything you ask of me!"



I grabbed Vick's collar and lifted him from the floor effortlessly. "The greatest kindness that I am offering you is your life. Do not make me regret my decision."



Once I threw Vick to the floor, the soldiers rushed in to take him and Stella away.



Stella struggled frantically against the strength of the soldier who grabbed her arms. "Xavier! I don't understand! What does that Wisdom daughter have that I don't? How do I not compare to her?"



"You lack a heart," I stated flatly. "The fact that you would stoop so low to such a dishonorable act shows me who you truly are. You are nothing in comparison to Eloise."



"I don't believe that for a second! Do you think that Eloise is pure? That she has no ill intentions? I bet you that witch has used more disreputable means than me!"



I stared at her and grabbed her neck. "What did you just say?!"
