Chapter 107
“Please just let go. I’ll tell you everything but please let her go.”
Marcellus pursed his lips with a deep scowl on his face as he glanced down at the rogue at his feet, only held back by the silver bars between them. Despite Liam stating that he would give up the location of his mate, he needed assurance that he was speaking nothing but the truth.
Just for good measure, he ordered Dalton to turn it up a notch, just to make sure that the rogue spoke nothing but the truth.
“Please! Please!” Liam begged as the tears continued to stream down his face. “I’ll tell you everything that you need to know but please don’t hurt her!”
“Tell me where my mate is.”
Liam nodded his head frantically as he gave an address.
Marcellus frowned lightly as he turned his head to glance at his warriors, all of them mirroring the same unsure expression as him.
“And if I find out you’re lying?” He asked as he turned his head back to face the still conscious rogue; Johnny now looking like he was slipping in and out of consciousness, too out of it to comprehend what was going on around him.
“I’m not. I promise!” Liam raised himself onto his knees and lifted his hands to beg the Alpha stood behind the bars unable to hear his mate scream out in pain any longer. “I promise I’m telling you the truth! Go to that address and you’ll find an abandoned old building. That’s where they’re keeping her.”
“I’m letting you live for now but if I find out that you were lying, I’m going to kill you all.” Marcellus growled in warning, sending a sharp look to both of the rogues. “And the first one I’m going to start with is your mate.”
After that promise, he was quick to shift into his mate and run out of the basement. As he reached the fields, he was thankful that Dalton had sorted out the rest of the warriors so they didn’t have to waste any time in going to save his mate and Luna of the Lupum Griseo pack.
If something happens to our mate, I’m going to fucking destroy you! His wolf whispered to him in a quiet, menacing tone as they pushed back on their hind legs and began the mission to bring his mate back to safety.
Trust me when I say, I’m going to be the first one to do that if there’s so much as a hair out of place. He couldn’t help but whisper back to his wolf as he pushed himself to run faster, growling at the group of trackers that he bypassed and couldn’t keep up with him.
You’re such a fucking idiot!
You don’t think I know that already? He struggled to get a hold of his overwhelming emotions as they raced through his entire body. You don’t think I don’t know that I’ve everything wrong by her and now, she’s gone missing?
I don’t care how much fucking grovelling you have to do but once all of this is over, you’re going to get down on your knees and beg for her forgiveness, even if it takes forever.
Despite how much he tried to tell himself that he would be given the chance to do just that, he couldn’t help but feel like shit.
The Moon Goddess had granted him a mate yet he had been so ungrateful and judgy that he had all but pushed her to the side and deemed her unworthy even though that was not his intention. However, that was what his actions looked like from the outside and now, he was paying the price.
Despite his wolf’s many threats, Marcellus knew that if anything were to happen to Anastasia, his little spitfire, he would never be able to forgive himself.
She deserved so much better than the shitty mate that she had been destined with and the moment she was back in his arms, he had a lifetime of bullshit to make up for.
Thought of Anastasia kept him focused and motivated as he ran to where the rogues had stated his mate was being kept; in an abandoned house about three hours away from his pack.
Except, they were able to cut down the three-hour travel time to just over half, with everyone driven and determined to bring their Luna back to safety.
What the fuck? His wolf questioned aloud as they came to a stop after having finally reached their destination as instructed by a desperate Liam willing to do anything to save his mate. There’s nothing here!
Marcellus couldn’t help but growl lowly at the prospect that the rogues had played them and instead of giving them the location of where his mate had been kidnapped to, had sent them to the middle of nowhere.
When we get back there, I’m going to fucking rip him to shreds!
That’s only if there’s anything left of him after I get through with him!
Both Marcellus and his wolf growled loudly, uncaring of the fact that they were in the middle of nowhere and his voice was probably travelling all through the forest. All he cared about was finding his mate and getting her back to safety but after making it this far only to find out that they had been left on the wild goose chase, he was starting to lose hope.
Even though he tried to remain strong, he couldn’t help but worry that after so much time had passed since she had initially gone missing, all of these terrible things could have happened to her already.
This is all your fault, you know?
I know it’s my fucking fault! Marcellus growled loudly as he lifted his paw and slammed it down on the ground in pure rage, unable to bottle his emotions despite the fact that he couldn’t be anything short of in control right now. I already know that without you reminding me all the time.
All of this could have been avoided if you told her we were mates from the very beginning! If you didn’t lie to her, then none of this would have happened.
Instead of answering, Marcellus growled loudly and shook his head, unable to deal with his wolf right now despite him speaking nothing but the absolute truth.
Determined to find her at any cost, Marcellus broke away from his wolves as he ventured around the place, looking for the abandoned house that Liam had said would definitely be here.
Desperate to find her and bring her back to safety even though she deserved so much better than him, he kept pushing and pushing until finally, he reached the end of the forest.
Breaking away from the forest and stumbling outside it, Marcellus had to take a few steps back in order to be able to comprehend the grand sight in front of him. While he had found the house that Liam had referred to, he had also managed to find something so much more.
After demanding Dalton and his warriors join him, Marcellus gulped and tried to comprehend exactly what was in front of him.
A fucking plane.
