Chapter 16
"Let's go?"
I nodded and rode behind him. I placed both hands on both of his shoulders for support. I think it's too awkward to hold me by his waist.
He started the engine and drove away. I didn't even bother to look at Raxon myself because I'm sure he'll just give me a cold look.
"At the end of La Teresita is their house," I said to Harrold. Maybe he doesn't know where we're going.
"Yes ma'am!" He made a strong promise and then laughed. I couldn't help but smile. But that smile also disappeared immediately when I remembered Raxon's expression earlier. It's like he's angry. The little guy will run out of patience.
But the question is, why did he looked at me like I'm the one who's making him mad?
I finally decided to put it out of my mind. I don't want my head to be filled of thoughts about him.
Just ten minutes later we reached Lalaine's house. I was surprised to notice a blue car outside. I'm sure that's not theirs. Is it possible that someone else is in their mansion? As far as I know, Lalaine doesn't let any men in, even if she's her boyfriend, so I'm wondering.
Harrold parked his motor opposite the gate and I immediately got off.
"Thank you, Harrold. I'm sorry if I bothered you."
He smiled. "Oh, that's okay! What are you, Amara. It's the least thing I can do for you. So don't feel bad about it."
"All right. You can leave. Maybe you're going somewhere else. Again, thank you."
"Not anymore. I'll be waiting for you. It's getting late, Amara. It's dangerous for a woman to go home alone."
"Don't worry about me. There are many tricycles out there that I can ride home." giit ko.
"No. I'll wait here." he finally promised as if nothing could break his decision.
"Go inside. Maybe your friend needs you."
I sigh because of his insistence. "Fine. Wait for me here."
When the guard recognized me, he immediately let me in. During the time that Lalaine and I were friends, even their assistants knew me.
I went straight inside the mansion and asked one of their housemates.
"Is it Laine?"
"She's in her room, ma'am. She has a fever. But don't worry because--" I didn't let her finish what she was going to say and I immediately ran up the stairs.
And when I reached her room I quickly opened it.
I was stunned and almost stunned to see who was sitting next to Lalaine lying on her bed.
It's Ravin Bermudez.
At first I thought it was Raxon because of the similarity of their features and body built but after a while I looked at him I realized he was his brother.
But the question is, why is he here? Lalaine didn't say even single a word about her being close with this man.
"Uh .." I'm speechless. I looked at Laine who was obviously asleep. He had a bimpo on his forehead and I also noticed his slight redness. Probably because of his high temperature.
"You must be Amara, her friend. Right?"
"Um. Yeah. I was worried about why she didn't come in so I went here right after class. But I guess, there's already someone who's taking care of her." I smiled. He didn't smile back and just gave me his cold look.
His brother really made no difference to them.
"Don't worry. I'll take care of him until he feels better."
"Thank you, Ravin." I would have asked what their relationship was with each other but I restrained myself. Maybe I'll just ask Lalaine about this tomorrow. Ravin's presence is just as intimidating.
When I came out of the mansion Harrold was still there. He immediately turned his attention to me when he saw me approaching.
"Oh, how fast did you come back?"
"Well, nothing bad happened. He's okay." She has a knight with him so I think she'll be fine eventually.
He smiled playfully. "I thought so because you'll miss me right away."
"Stop that Harrold. I'm hard to resist the charms of men. You know that."
He laughed. "I know that! Even the whole batch of us knows that you are harsh when it comes to your lovers. Just a little show of motive will stop you immediately."
