~ Chapter Nineteen - Part 2 ~
Artemis frowned as Hades appeared in her meadow. “Hades?” She questioned in confusion as she got to her feet.
Hades met her halfway as he gently grabbed her arms. “We have a problem,” he said with a frown.
Artemis looked into his eyes and studied him. “What are you talking about?” She asked as she gripped his arms.
“Atlas sent Jacques to the most dangerous part of Tartarus. He had a powerful witch or warlock cast some spell, and I couldn’t get in. Only Atlas, his warlock, or Katalina can get in,” Hades explained quietly.
Artemis released a small gasp as she put a hand over her heart. “I’m going to assume that it’ll let her in but definitely won’t let her out.”
Hades shrugged. “Even if it does, she’ll still be in Tartarus. Do you d have any idea how difficult it is to get out of Tartarus without help?” He asked in exasperation.
Artemis. “Then you have to help her,” she pleaded.
Hades shook his head. “I can’t. I won’t be able to even get to her.”
Artemis started pacing in front of him. Then she snapped her fingers. “We can summon Katalina here, and you can explain to her how to get out. Then we can even send her parents back with her, so she has someone to help her if she needs it.”
Hades nodded. “We can try and just hope that it works.”
Artemis took a deep breath. “Alright. I’ll bring Katalina here.”
Hades sighed as they both sat down in the middle of the meadow and waited for Katalina to arrive.
Katalina sighed as she sat in her usual window seat in Damien’s office. She leaned against the wall with her legs up in front of her. She had her sketchpad resting against her legs as she started drawing a beautiful image of her wolf sleeping with Damien’s wolf. Damien’s wolf, Ranger, was wrapped protectively around hers as they snuggled together in a gorgeous meadow. There was a crystal clear lake behind them and beautiful flowers of all types surrounding the Babylonian weeping willow tree they were lying under, snuggled together.
It was a gorgeous picture that had a smile permanently glued to her face. Then, Katalina decided to add a small wolf pup that was playfully chasing a baby fox close to the tree where they were resting. It was a beautiful mix of both of them. She looked it over with a joyful smile and a soul pounding with the sudden longing to have a child in her arms.
Katalina carefully tore the image out of her book before standing and walking over to Damien. She shyly held the drawing out to him before nervously playing with her hair as he looked it over. “Oh, little dove,” Damien whispered in awe. Katalina blushed as he took her hand and gently pulled her onto his lap. “This is such a beautiful picture, my little dove,” he pressed a kiss to her temple before holding her close. “I hope our child is a perfect combination of the two of us like that.”
Katalina took a deep breath and looked at the picture she had drawn. “I don’t know what it is,” she whispered. “As soon as I finished drawing that I felt what I can only imagine is what you have been feeling,” she looked into his eyes with desire, want, hope, and love in her own eyes. “I want a child with you, my beloved. I can only guess this is how you have been feeling,” she rested her forehead against his. “I know I said I was ready, and believe me, I truly am ready, but now I want it even more than I did before.”
Damien gently set the picture Katalina had drawn onto his desk and wrapped his arms around her. “You’re going to be an amazing mother, my dove. I already know it,” he said softly.
Katalina looked up at him with a bright smile. “You’re going to be an amazing father, my beloved,” she whispered.
Damien grinned as he pressed a loving kiss to her lips. “How about we take a break and go on upstairs to make that baby, huh?” He asked quietly against her lips with a mischievous grin.
Katalina giggled and quickly climbed off of his lap. “You’re going to have to catch me first,” she said playfully before taking off into the hallway.
Damien chuckled before Ranger let out a playful growl, and they ran after her.
Damien chased her into their bedroom and lifted her in the air. “Mm. Got you,” he said huskily against her neck.
Katalina let out a breathy laugh as he gently tossed her onto their bed. He laid over her and started pressing kisses over her neck and chest. She arched her back to give him better access to her neck and breasts. They quickly grew impatient as they started kissing each other furiously and tearing at each other’s clothes. It didn’t take them long to be completely naked. After another couple minutes of teasing touches and kisses, Damien smoothly slipped into her wet entrance. He loved how she was always so ready for him.
Damien slid in and out of her with ease as he pressed loving kisses to her face and neck. Then, even though she proudly wore his mark on her neck, he proceeded to leave hickeys on the other side of her neck and her breasts.
Katalina dug nails into his back as his thrusts grew more profound. Their lower bodies slapped together as they both met each other thrust for thrust.
They were sweating and panting as they got closer and closer to their orgasms. Finally, Damien looked into Katalina’s eyes. He smirked as he adjusted himself to hit that one spot that made Katalina’s eyes roll into the back of her head, and her climax instantly hit her.
Damien continued to pound into her even as she came down from her orgasmic high. She moaned as she clenched hard around his throbbing erection. He groaned as that was all he needed for his mind-blowing orgasm to hit him as hard as hers had hit her.
They both lay still as they tried to catch their breath. Damien rested his forehead against hers after pressing a featherlight kiss to her lips. “I love you, little dove,” he whispered against her lips.
Katalina smiled. “I love you too,” she whispered lovingly.
Damien kissed her once more before getting out of bed and walking to the bathroom. He grabbed a washcloth and wet it with warm water before returning to the bedroom. He knelt on the bed by Katalina’s feet and gently cleaned her up. “All clean, my dove,” he said softly after pressing a kiss to her belly.
Katalina giggled as she sat up. “Thank you, beloved.”
They got dressed and went back downstairs. Katalina went to the kitchen to make them lunch, and Damien went to his office to get some work done.
Katalina made a simple pasta and made it fairly quickly. When the food was ready, she made two plates. She picked them up and started walking towards Damien’s office when it happened.
Katalina’s world spun around her as she fell to the floor. Then, her world turned to darkness as she was sure Artemis had summoned her.
Katalina sighed as she blinked her eyes open to find herself in Artemis’s meadow. She turned to face Artemis as she got to her feet. A tall man with black hair and silver eyes, who she guessed was Hades because he looked a lot like Roman, was standing next to her. She folded her arms over her chest and pouted. “You made me drop my pasta,” she whined.
Artemis let out a small laugh. “I’m sorry, sweetheart. We have a serious problem, though.”
Katalina frowned. “What is it?” She questioned in confusion.
Artemis sighed as she moved to stand in front of Katalina. “Hades has just learned that Atlas has somehow managed to trap Jacques in Tartarus, the lowest point in the underworld,” she explained softly.
Katalina looked at her with wide, horrified eyes. “Wait. Tartarus is where you guys put the worst monsters. Your enemies. People who go against you guys or prove to be dangerous to you or humanity,” she rambled on as she tangled her fingers together. “Why would Atlas send him there? Why would he do that?” She questioned with tears gathering in her eyes.
Artemis quickly summoned Isabella and Jake to help calm her down. Isabella quickly pulled Katalina into her arms. “Sh. It’s okay, baby girl,” he whispered soothingly.
Katalina took a few deep breaths before looking at Artemis and Hades. “Do you know why Atlas sent Jacques to Tartarus?” She questioned.
Artemis sighed heavily. “We think he’s going to use Jacques to get you to Tartarus,” she explained.
Katalina let out a shaky breath as she closed her eyes. “He wants me trapped and tormented in Tartarus because he believes he'll be unstoppable if I’m not the one leading.”
Artemis nodded. “Exactly,” she said sadly.
Katalina felt the tears rush down her face as she leaned into Jake for support. “Okay,” she slowly exhaled as she repeatedly ran her hands through her hair. “All I have to do is think. Then, I can figure this out,” she muttered.
As she was muttering to herself, Artemis and Hades received a summons to a meeting with the other gods. Artemis sighed and softly asked. “Katalina, would you like to join us for this meeting? You can tell everyone else about what’s going on better than we can.”
Katalina shrugged as she took a few deep breaths. “Sure.”
Artemis nodded. “It’s time to say goodbye. I’m sure you’ll be able to see each other again.”
As Isabella and Jake disappeared, Artemis grabbed Katalina’s hand and teleported them to where everyone was meeting. Artemis looked at her and softly said. “Okay. All of the other gods and goddesses are going to be here. Don’t be scared. No one will harm you. Be honest and direct. Zeus always prefers for people to get straight to the point.”
Katalina nodded along with what she was saying. “Okay. I can do this.”
Artemis giggled as she tucked her hair behind her ear. “You’ll be just fine, sweetheart.”
Katalina took a calming breath and nodded. “I’m ready.”
A man chuckled from behind them. “Of course, she brought her little wolf here. She could never keep anything from her chosen wolf warrior,” he said as he shook his head.
Katalina frowned as she came out of the field in front of the lake. “Well, I think her chosen warrior has a right to know what’s going on, don't you?” She asked as she walked in a small circle, trying to find the source of the voices.
The same man laughed darkly. “I don’t think so, but then again,” he said as he suddenly appeared in front of her. “I don’t think much of her wolves,” he growled.
Katalina rolled her eyes. “Have you ever tried to get to know any of her wolves?” she folded her arms across her chest. “Most of us are very nice people,” she shook her head as she said. “You wouldn’t know that, though. Would you?” She demanded as she tilted her head in curiosity.
“Watch who you’re talking to, little wolf,” he growled.
Katalina scoffed. “I don’t care who you are. You do not insult Artemis or wolves like that in front of me without me talking back to you,” she said in a sassy tone.
Ares lifted his arms like he was going to grab her, and lightning lit up the sky as another man put his hand on his shoulder. “Now, now, Ares,” he said as he pulled his arm back. “There is no need to get so furious.”
