Chapter 30
MADDIE
My whole body froze as he claimed my lips. I wasn't expecting this, not after I set those rules. I pressed both of my palms against his hard chest, hoping I could get away from his lips even for a little while. But it seems like he has no intentions to let go of my lips.
"H-Hade---" I tried to protest, but he uses that opportunity to fully claim my lips and invade my mouth with his tongue. I felt his hand grabbing my nape, preventing me from moving away from his kisses.
He slid his tongue inside my mouth, invading every inch of it. I can feel the heat inside my body slowly crawling through my veins. His kisses ignite a fire within me that I never knew existed.
I tried to stop his hand gently caressing my thigh from moving anywhere. I shifted my face to the side to avoid his kisses, but it seems like it didn't bother him as his lips started tracing my jawline before it eventually moved down my neck.
"S-Stop..." I pleaded with him, but he fell deaf to my demand. "Aaahhh!" I moan and escape my lips when his hand succeeds in finding the treasure in between my legs. The fabric separating his long fingers from my center wasn't enough to stop the fire that was slowly consuming my rationality. I'm starting to forget the rules that I set a few minutes ago.
I was a little bit disappointed when he moved away. I groaned in annoyance, which earned a chuckle from him.
He then slowly leaned forward until his lips were inches away from my ear. "If you really want me to stop, you have to do better than that," he whispered.
His breath felt warm against my ear. It sent shivers down my spine as his words echoed in my mind. I knew I should fight against this against him, but every touch, every whisper takes away my strength to do so. I can hear the pounding sound of my heart through my chest. It matched the tension crackling between us.
His hand brushed against my thighs. With the slightest touch, he managed to set my skin ablaze. I should have pushed him away; I should have put more distance between us, but instead, I stood frozen, waiting for his next move. The room felt smaller, and the air seemed thicker, as if the time stood still and we were the only people left on earth.
Hades lingered close, his lips barely grazing my ear, teasing me with the promise of more. "Until when are you going to deny me, love?" he murmured, his voice low and velvety, a seductive undertone that made my knees weak. "Admit it," he commanded.
I clenched my fists as I struggled to find the strength to respond. I was trying my best to do anything other than surrender to the heat coursing through my veins. "I have nothing to admit," I managed to say, though the tremor in my voice betrayed me.
A knowing smile tugged at his lips, and he pulled back just enough to look into my eyes. His gaze was intense, penetrating, as if he could see right through me. "Is that so?" he asked, his voice barely more than a whisper. "Then, tell me you don't want me as much as I do."
My breath caught, and my mind raced to find a reply. But all I could focus on was the strong tension between us and the way my body instinctively moved closer to his, proving his every point. He tilted his head, watching me with a calm intensity, like he knew I was on the edge of something I couldn't quite identify but was scared to admit.
"I..." The words caught in my throat, a mix of frustration and longing warring within me. I wanted to push him away, to put an end to this before it spiraled out of control. But the desire threatening to escape is making it hard for me to do so. My body had already decided what my mind was too afraid to admit.
His hand found its way back to my thigh, his fingers tracing slow, deliberate circles that sent waves of heat through me. He was close again, his lips inches from mine, and I could feel the tension building, thick and suffocating, pulling us together like magnets.
"Cut got your tongue?" he murmured, and a mischievous smirk slowly curved his lips. His free hand cupped my face, his thumb brushing over my bottom lip with a gentleness that was completely opposite to the intensity in his eyes. "Honestly, you don't have to say anything. Your body already gave you away."
My pulse quickened, the weight of his words sinking in. I wanted to argue, to tell him he was wrong, but deep down, I knew he was right. Every inch of my body was drawn to him, every fiber of my being yearning for the connection I had denied for so long.
"Don't you dare kiss me," I warned him when he started to lean his face closer.
But as expected, he didn't heed my warning. He continued to lean closer, his breath mingling with mine, and I can feel the last of my resistance slowly crumbling away. But I know I should resist. The moment I allow him to kiss me, I'm only proving his point. I can't let him think that he can do whatever he wants just because he had the upper hand in this deal.
He smirked, "And what are you going to do if I do?" He challenges me.
I raised my eyebrow and glared at him. "Go on and find out," I replied.
He then confidently leaned forward and claimed my lips. And as soon as he did, I bit his lips as hard as I could until I could taste the blood in my mouth.
"Fck!" he shouted. "Did you just bite me?" he asked while touching his lips. His eyes widened in shock when he showed the blood on his fingers.
"I did," I responded. "Now, you know what will happen if you don't keep your hands to yourself. I think I already made myself clear. I'm expecting you to abide by the rules we agreed upon moving forward; are we clear?" I feel proud knowing I successfully managed to control the situation.
I was expecting him to get mad, but I was a little bit surprised when he burst into laughter. The living room was suddenly filled with the sound of his laugh.
"You're really something, Mrs. Grant. I'm looking forward to our life together, wife," he replied.
I roll my eyes at him. "I'm sorry, but I can't say the same." I remember the check in my hand. "And one more thing..." I lifted the check in front of him. "I don't need your money," I said as I ripped the check in front of him, and he watched my every move with an amused smile on his face.
I didn't wait for his response. I walked past him and headed straight towards the bedroom.
"This isn't over, wife." I heard him shout before I could even close the door.
