Chapter Forty

Chapter Forty
Zen’s POV
I had a bad feeling surfacing from deep in my chest, a premonition if you will; a thought that our fairy tale was coming to a close; a feeling that tonight would be the last time I would ever see Princess again. I held onto her tightly as we sunk into the scorching bath water. I wasn’t ready to let go. Why did I have to let go? I knew I was giving up prematurely, but Dan was not someone who let things go. The fucker would have my head one way or another.
I guess I never would have the opportunity to be promoted to Prince.
I ran hot kisses down her throat as she straddled me in the water. She bit her lip to stifle her moans, worried that Tom might hear her if she was too loud. As I pushed in and out of her, I fell into the depth of her eyes, burning this final moment into my memories. I was going to see Dan tonight, without Princess even knowing. I’m so sorry.
“I love you, Elizabeth.” I whispered into her ear in between my heavy breaths, pulling her bare chest against mine and stabilizing her hips so I could thrust into her faster. Her breathing climbed along with her orgasm, until she finally stilled, digging her nails into the nape of my neck and massaging my cock inside of her. My orgasm followed immediately after. I could barely breathe with all of the steam surrounding us. My eyes popped open once I was done filling her, desperately searching for her calming eyes. Instead, I found her staring worriedly back at me.
“Zen, what’s going on?” She inquired, her brows furrowed.
“What do you mean?”
“Why were you looking at me like you were saying goodbye?” I swallowed hard. She was too perceptive for her own good.
“I wasn’t baby. I’m just enjoying having you in my arms.” I gave her a tender kiss on her lips, and then each cheek and her forehead, feeling her body relax on top of me.
Who had I been kidding? I should’ve known it wouldn’t last. It was too good to be true. She didn’t belong with someone like me. Not forever, anyway. She belonged with someone more like fucking Collin. Some kid with a promising and safe future ahead of him. Someone who would preserve her innocence, not taint it. I knew that she would hate me once she found out that I lied to her, but she would get over it. She would move on, I knew she would.
She wouldn’t have a choice.
My heart stopped when my girl stepped out into the living room. She looked like an angel turned devil with how sexy her red dress clung to her. Her whitish blonde hair was adorned with loose curls, falling down to her back in waves, and the deep crimson of her dress contrasted her creamy skin beautifully. The strapless neckline dipped low, showing off her amazing cleavage and making me want to rub my face between her soft breasts. The tight high end fabric hugged her thin waist and hips, before flowing loosely to her black heels. A long slit climbed all the way just below her hips on either side, and her red lips looked even more plump and kissable than usual. She was even wearing the set of earrings and necklace I had bought her when we first moved in here. Her bright blue eyes popped against the black sequined mask and if I wasn’t so dumbstruck, I would ravage her on the spot. My only complaint was that other people would see her this way.
Her eyes were still raking down my body as I approached her, lifting her hand and kissing it with a slight bow, my other arm behind my back.
“Princess, I love you. Forever and always.”
