Chapter 32
Roman takes Alice to truth justice Court, one of the many places where he hid his familys relics. After finding the right coordinates, he starts to dig and this time, he exhumes a golden wrist watch that is designed with diamond. He casually gives it to Alice, who is obviously awed. She then asks him how many did he hide and he nonchalantly tells her its enough to open a private museum. He brings Alice to the stony beach. While she excitedly digs up relics on the shores, Roman talks with his imaginary friend. He tells his friend that Alice is his oblivious, luckless and stingy landlord. But even though shes a pain, he is fully aware that shes the only one who can help him find his murderer. Since the monster video plan is a failure, the only way now is to keep track of who sold his moms golden wrist watch. Hes dead sure he didnt sell it, therefore, the person who did may be the one who dried up all his blood.
Bill learns that Professor Gerald left his company ID at the research facility. He finds it strange that the professor forgot to bring his ID when he is said to be attending a conference. Bill decides to go to the professors house. Its left unlock, so he comes in uninvited. But unknown to him, some mysterious guy is already in there. Hes installing something in the professors computer. And while Bill wanders around the house, the man immediately hides from sight and draws a knife, aiming at Bill's back. Good thing, the security guard comes by just in time which forces the man to return to hiding. After talking with the guard, Bill leaves and the man resumes to his work.
Like what Bill suspected, Professor Gerald is not attending a conference but is busy conducting his own investigation on the missing dormant body case. He talks with the man who was first on the scene and discovers that the reported pervert and the dormant body wore the same clothes.
Alice is having a difficult time deciding whether to return or accept Roman's gift, so she turns to social media for some advice, but it proves to be an inept move when people bashed her instead. In the end, she returns the bracelet, saying that one cannot be too greedy. Roman agrees and tells her to use it as an additional funding for her well-digging activities. She is so overwhelmed that she unconsciously kisses Roman on the cheeks and promises to help him break into Hilton's house the next day. Her innocent gestures brings out a blush from Roman.
Hilton takes on an indeterminate vacation leave and stays at home per his Captains advice. There, Alice pays him a surprise visit. Well, not really a surprise since it is part of the break in plan. She will serve as a diversion while Roman access Hilton's computer. Richard, on the other hand, will be the lookout. Hilton is apparently happy to see Alice as he didnt even bother to guard his emotions and gives her a back hug. Perplexed by his actions, she can only ask if somethings wrong. He instantaneously denies. Its a shame he has a terminal illness.
Once Alice gives the go signal, Roman gets inside Hilton's room. Luckily Hilton's computer is already signed in at the police offices data base. However, the site needs a password and inputting the wrong code will automatically shut down the database for an hour.
In the living room, Alice excuses herself to hide in the bathroom. She then tells Roman that her birthday has always been Hilton's password. Thankfully, it still is, While Alice is busy secretly talking with Roman via an earpiece device, Hilton hears tapping from his room and walks slowly towards it, armed with a wine bottle. Seeing Hilton's attempt to go to his room, Alice feigns to slip. Hilton dashes to the bathroom, giving Roman enough time to escape.
Right on cue, Richard knocks on the door and reminds Alice that she still has a shoot. Hilton laughs at her carelessness.
On the way home, Roman mulls over the fact that Hilton still uses Alice birthday as the password. But, Alice assures its only natural since she and Hilton grew up together and is practically family. This answers Roman's speculations and he then treats Alice and Richard for a midnight snack. With their missions success, Roman gets hold of the golden wriat watch current owners address. He advises Alice not to join him this time because shell only be in a harms way. But because shes hardheaded, she still follows his trail the next day. So, Roman is forced to tag her along. They find the address but unfortunately theyre too late. The couple are already dead and to prevent Alice from seeing the dead bodies, Roman pulls her for a hug.
After the news of the double murder breakout, Hilton volunteers to Investigate on the case despite being on official leave.
At home, Alice cries from guilt and fear. She blames her bad luck for the death of the couple. Roman sympathetically disagrees, telling her that its not her fault and promises to keep her safe no matter what.
Later that night, Roman thinks by himself, praying to know how he can heal a heartache. Wounds are definitely a hundred times easier to heal. He feels that Alice is having bad dream, so just to give her a little comfort, he settles on hugging her tight.
The enemy has been informed of Professor Gerald's hunt for the monster. Because of that, the enemy warns the professor to butt off and stick to the scientifics or something bad will happen to his family.
The next morning, Roman makes Alice a drink. Its supposed to be an energy drink I think. But given Roman's horrible cooking skills, she tries to make up lame excuses just to avoid glugging down the dreadful drink. However, he insists and shes forced to drink all of it. And yeah, shes right. It tastes awful Out of the blue, he wipes off the juice on the sides of her mouth using his thumb. This seemingly innocent but sweet gesture turns her into a disgruntled zombie.
Hilton and his team concludes that the culprit was after the golden wrist watch. Roman learns that the niece of the deceased couple came to bury her relatives, so he pretends to be one of the police investigators in charge with the case. He talks privately with the niece and ask about the relic. The niece readily relays that the jade was pawned by a young man at her great grandfathers shop. After the young man was gone, her great grandfather inspected the golden wrist watch box and found a secret compartment. Inside was a picture of the young man and his mother. Since their great grandfather cant bear to sell the golden wrist watch he kept it as a family heirloom. And if only her aunt wasnt sick years ago, her uncle wouldnt be forced to sell the golden wrist watch.
Professor Gerald files a leave of absence from work. He spills his plans to Bill. The truth is he didnt really go to a business trip and only stayed at home. He already knew that the dormant body was the reason why Alice acquired the prefect enzyme, and he was trying to find the corpse by himself. At first, he was only driven because of scientific discoveries, but later, he became greedy and aimed on making a cure for his daughter using the monsters blood.
Alice is all giddy remembering Roman's sweet gesture. Richard then notices that she hasnt wiped off her make up. She usually cleanses after a shoot. With Richard's comment, she realizes that she had been unkempt and messy at home. Her panic-stricken reaction compels Richard to bluntly remind her that having romantic desires for Roman will end up with a tragedy. But she continues to deny liking him.
Bill and Hilton meet up for their regular dormant body progress report. But sadly, there is nothing to report as their investigation arrives at a dead-end. While looking at his phones GPS tracker app, Hilton discovers that on the day of the double murder, the car he lent to Alice was parked near crime scene.
