Chapter 12
It's been a whole year since Twilight and Takumi lived together and she did visit her dad sometimes. During that time, Tis kept nagging her about you know what. They also ended up getting each other weird birthday gifts. Takumi got Twilight black, fluffy handcuffs and she got him a bunch of porno mags. Mostly so that he'd stay out of her hair...pants.
Right now, she was on her way home from another day at work. When she got home, she went straight to bed, not bothering to talk to Takumi.
“Hey, what's up?” He asked.
“It's been a long day and I just want to sleep.”
“Are you sure? You're not one to miss out on food. I'm sure your dad will kill me if he found out that I let you skip dinner.”
“It's ok, it's not like I'll tell him. I just want to sleep.”
“If you say so.”
A few minutes later, he climbed into bed.
“What are you doing?” She asked.
“I thought you'd feel lonely sleeping by yourself, so I decided to join you. Is it ok if I cuddle you?”
“Sure, why not? I'm too tired to fight.”
He wrapped his arms around her.
“Oh, and speaking of my dad, I'm thinking of visiting him again this weekend.”
“May I come with?”
“Why?”
“It just gets a little lonely when you’re not here.”
“If you can keep your hands to yourself, then ok.”
“Awesome.”
*The next day…*
“Gummy Bear, Alpha Jace is here to see you. Don't worry, he came alone this time. He's in my office.”
“Right. Rengoku, you don't have to wait for me.”
When she got upstairs, she stood in front of the door. She wasn’t sure if she should knock or give herself more time to think of what to say but she thought it’d be best to just go in and get it over with. And that’s what she did.
She thought about avoiding the Alpha's gaze but decided against it to not appear weak because if he had any harsh words for her, she’d take them head-on with her head held high. She sat down and before he said anything she spoke first.
“I’m not going to apologise.”
“Pardon?” He sounded surprised.
“I'm not going to apologise for what I did to your son and his whore. I know I shouldn't have lost control of my wolf like that, but in all honesty, he shouldn’t have mistaken my kindness or silence for weakness. But I suppose it’s my fault for giving him that impression.”
“I understand all that, Milady, but I came here to apologise.”
“What for?”
“For what my son did to you. I know that I can't expect you to forgive him, but I apologise for what he did...”
“It's alright, you don't have to apologise. And you're not the one who should be apologising. But thank you.”
“No, thank you for agreeing to see me, Milady.”
“The pleasure's all mine.”
After he left, she found Takumi in the living room with her dad.
“So, how did it go?” Her dad asked.
“Pretty good. He just came to apologise.”
“Oh. That’s good.”
For the rest of the day, Twilight took Takumi for a quick tour of the pack grounds. The wolves they met on the way waved at her and she ran into a few of her friends, and they hung out. Throughout the day, all the other wolves kept questioning if she was dating or liked Takumi, through the pack link. She, of course, denied it but they knew otherwise. At some point, she ran into her two best friends, and they hung out.
“Takumi's pretty hot, isn't he?” Mitsuri asked.
“No, he's not.” She blushed.
“And you are a terrible liar. How do I know? Let's see, maybe because I'm your best friend in the whole wide world. Or maybe because you look at him the same way my mom looks at my dad.”
“No, I don’t.”
Luckily, Takumi was talking to Youhei, and they were out of earshot.
“You’re such a tsundere.”
“No, I'm not.”
“I can't wait to see what your kids are going to look like.”
“Shut up.”
“Everyone in the pack seems to like you a lot.”
“To be fair, they did watch me grow up. They're like my family and I treat them that way and they do the same with me. I spent most of my time helping them out wherever I could. But there are a few who don’t like me because we don’t get along well. We do greet each other at least.”
When they got back, Twilight was greeted by muscular arms wrapping around her and lifting her from the ground.
“Little Lady, you finally came back and you're still as small as I remembered.”
“Yeah, and you're still a jokester.” He put her down. “Rengoku, this is the pack's Delta, Kaido. His job is to look out for the Luna. Like how the Beta does for the Alpha. He’s basically my babysitter/bodyguard.”
“Let's go inside so we can catch up.”
They sat at the table in comfortable silence except for Twilight, who was drinking a milkshake. Kaido was the first one to break it.
“So, how's sharing a bed working out for you two? Has anything interesting happened yet?” Some of the milkshake shot out of Twilight’s nostrils. “Before you ask, I got the information from Takeshi.” He said while handing her a handkerchief.
Takeshi just so happened to be nearby, and she sent a glare his way.
“Don't blame me, Princess. I said I wouldn't tell your dad. Besides, hiding anything that involves you from Kaido is practically impossible.”
“It's working out great for me. It comes with a lot of benefits.” She kicked Takumi under the table. “But she does make a good roommate.”
“Don't let him fool you. We have pillows in the middle as a barrier.”
“Too bad but maybe it's a good thing. Taking care of you was bad enough, I'm not ready to handle mini versions of you.”
“You got that right. No offence, Princess, but you were a little monster. Sometimes I wondered if you were the devil himself.”
“Takeshi!”
“What?”
“Don't you have somewhere else to be?”
“Fine, I'm going. Please don't devour my soul.”
“You don't have to worry about that happening. If you think I'm bad, he's worse. I don't want to deal with mini versions of him.”
“By the way, how come Takeshi always calls you princess?” Takumi asked. “I've never heard him call you anything else. And wouldn't your dad be the one calling you that?”
