Chapter 74-Strange Findings And Unanswered Questions

**Andreas P.O.V**
Athena and I leave Connor and Will with Doctor Andrews and walk hand in hand back to the front of the hospital.
“Alpha Andreas,” Doc calls out as he catches up to us.
“Please Doc, call me Andreas.”
“With all due respect, Alpha, I’d rather not,” the Doc says with a smile. “I’d like to examine you because of your marking to see if it’s had any effect on yourself or your wolf.”
“We have somewhere we need to be, Doc,” I say, looking at my watch.
“This is important, Andreas,” Athena says. “I’ll mind-link Noah and have him and Rich transfer Leon to a conference room while you get looked at.”
“A conference room? Are you sure?” I ask her.
She nods. “He’s the only link we have to the Rogue pack. I’m going to try to work with him diplomatically. If that fails, he goes back to the cells,” she explains.
I nod in agreement and turn to the Doc. “Lead the way.”
The Doc leads us down to an examination room and closes the door behind us.
“The usual?” I ask.
“Yes, Alpha. I’ll examine your remaining wounds, take blood, and I’d like to examine your wolf,” he says, placing a tray on the bed.
I strip down to my boxers as the Doc puts gloves on.
“Hmm,” he says when he looks me over. “The rest of your wounds are basically healed. It would seem I was right about you marking each other speeding up the process,” he says. “Your face looks fuller, too,” he says, then turns my head to look at my mark.
“Oh my,” he gasps.
“What?” I ask, moving my hand to my mark, covering it protectively.
Doc moves my hand and examines my mark again. “It’s forming a pattern,” he says in surprise.
“What?” Athena asks, moving closer to look as well. “What in the Goddess?” She mutters.
“Alpha, may I see your mark?” Doc asks Athena. She nods and moves her hair out of the way, and he looks at hers. “Yours is too,” he says with a smile.
Athena walks over to the bathroom and looks in the mirror. “What does this mean?” She asks.
“I have no idea. When it comes to you and the chosen, it’s been easier for me to just accept that I will probably never understand any of this. Otherwise, it would drive me mad,” he says with a chuckle. “The council may know.”
“What’s the pattern?” I ask.
“I can’t tell yet, maybe two crescent moons?” Athena says, walking back from the bathroom.
“We will see eventually,” Doc says with a smile. “Now, let me see Ares, please.”
I nod and remove my boxers, then close my eyes and allow Ares to come forward and shift.
I hear more gasps once the shift is complete and look at them, confused.
“I knew it,” the Doc says proudly.
‘What?’ I ask them over the link.
“You’re bigger,” Doc says with a big grin.
‘I am?’ I ask, trying to look at myself and knocking over a tray of instruments.
Athena laughs and walks over to stop us from knocking anything else over. She holds Ares’s face and looks into his eyes with a smile of adoration. “You’re definitely bigger, my love. And you look so much healthier,” she says as her eyes well up and she hugs us. When she pulls away, Ares licks her face happily, causing her to giggle.
“He is definitely looking much better than before. Your fur has filled out and you look more muscular,” Doc says. “Alright, you can shift back. I’ll take some blood samples and you can be on your way.”
“I’ll meet you outside. Noah is here,” Athena says with a smile and kisses our muzzle.

I close the door behind me and walk out of the hospital to where Noah is waiting outside. As I start to walk over to him, I hear someone call out to me, and I turn to see Lauren running over.
“Lauren! How are you?” I ask with a smile.
“I’m wonderful, Alpha,” she says with a smile.
“How are you settling into the pack?”
“Oh, everyone has been wonderful. I don’t want to take up your time. I just wanted your permission for something,” she says with a blush.
“What is it?” I ask curiously.
“I know I’m only an Omega, but I’m also one of the chosen. So, ah, I was wondering, am I allowed to train with the warriors?” She rushes the last bit out nervously. I giggle, causing her to blush further. “I know it’s silly, I’m sorry Alpha, I shouldn’t,” I cut her off by placing my hands on her shoulders and looking at her seriously.
“It’s not silly. I giggled because you don’t need my permission to train with the warriors. If this is what you wish to do, then do it. None of the Omegas here are forced to do anything they don’t want to, and are free to follow whatever dreams they have,” I explain to her.
“Really?” she squeals excitedly.
“Of course. Find Gamma Tony and sign up with him. He will assign you an instructor.”
She squeals again and runs off, yelling thankyou as she runs in the direction of the training field.
I giggle and make a mental note to discuss with the others the Gamma position, then continue to walk over to Noah. He gives me a sly smile as I approach him, and I feel myself blush.
“I’m so happy for you, Alpha. But you’ve ruined the cabin for me,” he says with a smirk.
I shove his shoulder with an embarrassed laugh. “You can blame Andreas for that!”
“Whoever’s fault it is, I’m going to have to move into the pack house now,” he says with a chuckle.
“Well, you’re part of the pack now. It’s time you did, anyway.” I smile.
“Yeah, you’re probably right,” he chuckles again. “Leon is in the conference room under guard,” he says, turning serious.
“Thank you,” I tell him as I feel Andreas come up behind me. “Let’s get this over with,” I say, and the three of us walk over to the pack house.

When we enter the conference room, Leon looks up and gives me a pained look. “Where are my mate and son?” he asks sadly.
“They’re being taken care of in the pack house. They are safe,” I tell him as Andreas and I sit in front of him. “Noah, remove the silver bindings, please.”
Noah nods and removes the shackles from Leon’s wrists.
“You’re not going to kill me?” Leon asks, dejected.
“Should I?” I ask him.
He sighs and leans forward on the desk, resting on his elbows. “Can I have a drink of water, please?” He asks. I nod to Noah, and he gets a bottle of water out of the mini fridge in the back of the room and hands it to Leon. He opens the bottle and drinks the whole thing in one go. “Thank you,” he says when he’s finished.
“Want to know about the Rogue pack,” I tell him, cutting to the chase.
He sighs again and makes eye contact with me. “I don’t know much. But I will tell you everything if you let me see my mate and son.”
“You’re not in the position to make demands,” Andreas says.
“I’m not demanding, I’m begging. I thought they were dead after what I saw...” he says, his lip trembling. He clears his throat and looks back at me. “Please, Alpha. I swear on my son that I will tell you everything.”
I eye him for a moment, then nod. “Noah, get his mate and son.”
“Yes, Alpha,” Noah says, then leaves the room.
“While we wait, you can start telling me what you know,” I tell him sternly, and he nods.
“They arrived on our lands around six months ago, but I think it had been planned well before that. Alpha Costas had our pack refurbish the old barn into a new pack house 18 months ago.”
“That’s before I left the pack to find answers,” I say out loud, trying to piece things together.
“I know nothing about that,” Leon says. “All I know is that Alpha Costas, well, he changed around that time.”
“Changed how?” I ask.
“He started keeping me out of meetings and anything to do with the new pack house. Then when the Rogue pack arrived, he told me they were important to the future of the pack and that I was to stay away from them and their pack house. Anytime I tried to find out anything, he would accuse me of trying to challenge him.”
“Costas was always power hungry. If he was promised something from them, he wouldn’t have hesitated to help them,” I tell Andreas.
“He wasn’t a bad Alpha,” Leon said sadly. “Well, not all the time.”
“He was extorting the unmated females in your pack to work in his strip club. I wouldn’t say he was a good Alpha,” I growled.
“He was always good to me,” Leon sniffed.
“So, you can’t tell me anything about the Rogue pack? Who their leader was? Nothing?”
“I know a little more, but I’m not saying anything further until I see my mate and son.”
