Chapter 24
Donna, drove down the road as the long stretch of tree’s whizzed by. She knew that they would never allow her to leave. She was a goner for sure. As rows of houses came into view she saw smoke rise into the air, thick black fumes.
She turned in the direction and soon came upon Josh’s and his families rented home.
Jenna stood outside with Josh tugging on her arm. She looked lost in her own mind.
Donna slammed on the brakes and jumped from her car. She could hear the local authorities heading towards the scene.
“Jenna!” she yelled.
Jenna’s head whipped in her direction, and she could see the confusion in her eyes.
“Quick get in!” Donna yelled as Josh pulled Jenna towards her car.
“What happened?” she asked as they headed onto the main street of town.
“She, she…” Josh stuttered.
“Josh, just tell me,” Donna gritted her teeth.
“She threw a fireball inside the house,”
“She did?” Donna grinned as excitement bubbled to the surface. All hope was not lost. She had shown she still held the powers gifted to her.
“Why the hell are you smiling she nearly killed us,”
“But she didn’t, you’re sitting there perfectly alive and without a scratch,” Donna waved as she pulled up to her home.
“Yeah, by some miracle,” Josh muttered.
“Josh, don’t you see? She has the power. I was afraid she had lost them, but she hasn’t,”
Josh froze as he stepped out of the car. He looked at Donna and nodded.
“Is she going to be, okay?” he nodded to Jenna who looked out of it.
“Yeah, just give her time. She has a whole other life to deal with,”
Josh carried her into the house. Donna showed him to a room where they both tucked Jenna into a large four poster bed.
“This used to be Edina’s room,” Donna said closing the door.
“Is Jenna gone now? I am mean with Edina being back?” Josh asked her to look sheepish.
Donna laughed, “Oh no. it will be still Jenna, she will have all Edina’s memories and power, but she will still be Jenna,”
“That is good Cassidy,” the way he said her real name made her pause as they walked down the spiral staircase she turned and faced him.
“I am sorry Josh. For lying to you and everyone. I just wanted a normal life. You know just be a teenager and not the daughter of a crazy witch queen,” Josh smiled at her and shock his head.
“I know what you mean. If only we were normal then we wouldn’t have all this worry,”

Jax ran in the opposite direction to his family. He couldn’t take the pull any longer. He could feel the wolf boy out there and let his feet guide him.
He came upon a large clearing with a cliff at the far end. The clearing was surrounded by shifters. As he scanned the area and his eyes travelled up, he saw the cave for the first time in which the queen lay asleep.
As he looked up into the black hole of the opening he knew without delay that he wasn’t on the same side as his family. He wanted the queen to rise. The humans should pay for what they have done to him.
He made his way across the open field and stood with the other shifters all of them with the same thoughts. Bring back the queen. To Jax that was the only way his people would be safe. Once the queen had destroyed the monsters that plagued the earth.

“Paige?” the sound of Melanie’s shocked voice caused a blush to rise on her cheeks.
“How?” she asked.
“I don’t know. It just sort of happened,” she shrugged her shoulders as her family gathered around.
“You will be the one,” Kobe said with a grin on his face.
“No father,”
“Paige the legend states, a tiger will be born as white as the snow. She will bring peace to the shifters that have lost all hope. With her strength and skill, she will help the protector and become the leader of the shifters,”
“Father, I am no leader,” Paige bowed her head.
“In time you will follow your destiny,” he said proudly.
“Where is Jax?” her mother’s worried voice made them; both scan the area.

Jess ran a brush through her purple hair. Soon it would be time to take back what was rightfully hers. She smiled at herself in the mirror. “I will do as you asked of me Grandpa Alico. I will not let you down,” she got up from her dressing table and attached a sword to its holder under her clothes. She stuck two daggers into the boot of each foot. She was ready.
Exiting the motel in which she had been staying for the last few months she got on her prized possession. Her Harley. She put her helmet on and kicked up the brake. Revving the engine, she smiled as she felt the vibrations from its power run up her arms.
Just as she was about to set off a man came out of the shadows and stood in front of her.
Heat instantly claimed her body as anger filled every pore.
“How dare you,” she seethed.
“Jessica? I need you to listen to me,” she jumped from her bike and whipped out her sword. He may have been her father by blood but in her heart, he was nothing.
He held up his hands as she marched forward.
“Jess you cannot do this,” he said in a low and calm voice which only ticked Jess’s anger more.
“You do not have the right to tell me what I can and cannot do!” she yelled.
“Your right, I am amazed that you even remember me,” he said hanging his head low.
“Reece Moore. My father. My Grandpa Alico knew he was going to die by the hand of the queen. He knew that you would betray us…”
“Jess that is not what…”
“Don’t, I do not want your excuses. He installed all his knowledge into my brain,” Reece’s eyes shone with understanding.
“Where were you when I turned sixteen and my entire world crumbled? You left me at that orphanage with those evil nuns!” she knew she wasn’t making sense, but her anger was too consuming.
“Jess I am sorry. I thought it was for the best,”
“No, you’re just a coward,” she turned and jumped back on her bike. She had a mission to take care of.
“Jess, you can’t do this!” he yelled as she turned and headed in the other direction.
