Chapter 8

I was currently sitting in the living area with Fab and Elvin, I had a good talk with Li and with how her face was glowing at the mention of her mate, I could tell she was happy with Fab. But, as her brother, I still got to make sure she stays happy all her life, I looked at Fab was sitting across the from me on the sofa staring me down as if trying to figure something out.




"Are you done watching me?" I asked annoyed by his stare




"Not really, but I am almost there" he replied looking serious as hell, what the fuck does that mean? I heard Elvin snicker beside me as he tried to hold on to his laughter




"You find this funny, don't you?" I asked glaring at him




"To be honest, this shit is kinda funny" he replied shrugging his shoulders as he turned his attention to Fab who was still staring me down




"What is that you want?" I asked annoyed turning to glare at the idiot I call my best friend




"You want to say something?" he asked as he continued to stare me down




"It's not like you don't know what I want to talk about" I replied looking at him




"Enlighten me" she said leaning back on the sofa with a damn smirk on his face




"Fab, I am being serious" I said, his face immediately turned serious when he heard my tone




"Fab, you are my best friend and I love you to death, but if you as much as hurt my baby sister in any way, I am going to have your head" I warned him




"I love you too bro, but I love my mate more" he replied as a smile made it's way back on his face




"And, I promise, that I would rather die than hurt her, I have been waiting for her for so long, I don't think I am stupid enough to mess it up" he replied as his smile widened, another reminder that I would not have what he has, my mate, I would never be able to have her




"Now, I want you to tell what the fuck is wrong with you?" he said turning to look at me as he started staring me down once again




"Why would say that?" I asked trying to think of something to change the topic




"You look like someone died" he said and I sighed knowing it's difficult to get away from him




"Can we talk about this in my office please?" I asked in defeat, he only nodded his head looking at me with concerned filled eyes




"Let's go" Elvin was the first one to get up, Fab and I followed close behind as we walked to my office, I think it is better to rip off the bandaid all at once




"So tell me what is happening?" he asked as soon as we closed my office door behind us




"You know I had a meeting with werewolf council yesterday right?" I asked and he nodded his head




"Yeah, and it was why you weren't there for the ceremony" he replied and I nodded my head in acceptance




I sighed as I explained him everything that happened yesterday, I told him about the meeting and the order the council has issued on me. His eyes widened in shock and surprise as he looked at me with his mouth hanging open trying to find for something comforting to say.




"So you have to find yourself a bride and get married to her in five days?" he asked looking at me, I only nodded my head absentmindedly




"And that too not any she-wolf, she must be an Alpha female" Elvin reminded us




"No shit" Fab mumbled under his breath, but it was enough for me to know because I have known him for a long time that I can literally say what he is capable of doing




"What are you going to do now?" he asked looking at me




"I have found a bride for myself" I replied and he smiled brightly




"Oh! Telll me about her" he said sounding excited, if only he knew what I am thinking




"We had run a check, currently there are only two Alpha females alive that are of age, one seems to be his sister and the other seems to be yours" Elvin said, Fab on the other hand just nodded his head, I don't think he is getting what I am saying




"What are you going to do now?" he asked, I swear he is so fucking slow when it comes to things like this




"We have to go as per the tradition and marry a bride I chose to purchase" I started




"So I want to ask you for your sister's hand for marriage" I said and he stood frozen in place as he processed everything I said




"You want WHAT?" he screamed loudly making Elvin and I vince as his voice attacked our sensitive ears




"Like I said Fab, there isn't any other option left for me, I wish I had something that I could do, but now I have to do this, even if I don't want to" I replied




"She will never agree, I know my sister well to know she only wants her mate" he said shaking his head in denial




"I want my mate either, but I can't have her, and now this is the only way out for me, besides, I know your sister will do well taking care of my family and pack" I added




"You don't get it Vin, she has been waiting for a whole year to be able to go out and search for her mate" he said shaking his head in denial continuously




"I understand, I really do, but this will be a win win for the both of us, we will be able to fultil the tradition and I can help you get rid of all the financial crices and settle you for life" I replied looking at him, I know I lost my sister, but I couldn't do anything




"You are offering me money" Fab said looking at me in disbelief




"I am only following the tradition" I answered




"I don't give a fuck, I will do anything I can to be able to let my sister have a chance at happiness she wants, I don't want your money so you can keep it. I will make sure that she has everything she desires" he said




"My answer is no, I will solve all the issues I have financially by myself, I don't need for you to be helping me around" he replied with a stern face, not leaving any space for arguments, before I could say anything my office door snapped open revealing my baby sister. She looked at us both back and forth before shrugging her shoulders as she shook her head




"Lunch is ready, mom is calling us" Li said with a bright smile on her face




We silently walked down to the dining room, and I could clearly see telling them anything will be like banging my wall in a head. We took our seats at the table as we continued to chatter with a few of them, I was glad Veronica wasn't adding more to my troubles, and my wolf just roll my eyes. I ignored everything as I focused on the food in front of me. It was as if my mom knew what was happening because the next thing I know she giving me an encouraging nod.




After lunch we sat down taking about how everything that is going on, they seem to be happy and I am really happy for them. I smiled a little as I recalled a little dream I had a few months ago, I couldn't see the face of my mate, but I must say she is strong and beautiful, I had her in my arms, but it was just a dream, I hope it could have been the truth. Our situation was already tensed, and I was getting a feeling that things are going to be difficult.




"Don't worry we will be fine, we will find a way out" Elvin whispered in my ear




"I don't know about that any more" I replied with a sigh




"We will talk to him again and make him understand the importance of all this" he replied




"We will see how things goes from here and then decide" I said and he nodded his head, we spent the rest of the afternoon chatting until it was time for Fab and Li to go back home
