Chapter 20

Megha's POV



Mehul seems to be bipolar to me. He says something and then behaves in an entirely different way.

When I got up today, he was sleeping next to me and his arm was encircling me around my waist. His face was very close to mine. He looked like a young boy with his hair falling on his forehead. I wanted to touch him. But, I was annoyed with him.

He thinks as if he is some kind of a victim of this marriage. He felt ashamed in telling his friends that I was his wife. So, I decided to give him space.

Just a minute... when did I come here to our room and how??? I was working in study and was too tired to come to the room.

My eyes were getting shut. So I shut down my laptop and curled up on the couch to sleep. How did I come upstairs to our room, on the bed, with his arms around me?

Did he carry me upstairs to our room?

He must have, I couldn't think of any other possibilities. But why would he? He doesn't even care. Does he? I was confused. I got out of his arms and went downstairs to the garden. I wanted to give instructions to the gardener. He was working on the area, I told him to work on.

He had already trimmed the bushes and mown the lawn. He had arranged all the flower plants. And brought a lot of white rounded stones.

I gave him the designs made and told him to get a few more things so that we could set up an artificial pond and a beautiful setting around it.

I wanted a beautiful sitting arrangement at various parts of the open space and a few pathways to reach there so that we could enjoy nature whenever time and weather permits. It would add beauty to the garden. Gardener said that he would get everything by the next day.

I was happy, with what he had already done. I asked him to hire help if he wanted. I wanted 2 sheds, so I told him the exact place and designs. He was also excited to do it he said he would get it done in two days with help.

I would get the stylish garden furniture and accessories my self.

I came back to where Papaji and Maji were having tea. I greeted them and told them about my plans. They were looking very excited about the fact that it would take shape within a week.

I saw that Mehul was coming towards us he sat down and after a few minutes. I excused myself saying that I need to get ready.

After the banter we had in our room, I went downstairs to have breakfast. He followed me shortly. I was in a hurry as I had to meet Priya again to finalize the colour schemes, wallpapers, buy the office furniture for her office and also visit her showroom as she was going to her long-awaited honeymoon shortly.

I wanted to finalize everything before that so I get ample time to finish work before she is back. I was still thinking, when Papaji asked, " So, do you need anything, Megha?"

I smiled and shook my head. "No Papaji, I wanted to go around the city as I am new here, so I wanted a driver and bhaiya sent one for me."

He smiled and said, " If you need an office or any space for your work, let us know. Feel free to use study and the storeroom if you want. "

I gave him a big smile, " Thank you Papaji, I will. Now, please excuse me as I have so many things to do today."

I picked up my stuff and left. I told Priya that I am on my way. She told me to come to her showroom instead it would save time for both. I agreed and she sent me the address.

I was there in 20 minutes. She was waiting for me. I saw the showroom and made some mental notes on what is to be done. Clicked some pics and I also saw what kind of material they provided. I could use some of them for the interiors like curtains and drapes.

Then I showed her all the colour schemes and she selected the ones she liked for her office, uncle's office and showroom. Once it was decided we went to M.G. road to buy furniture.

She selected and bought furniture for her office and I bought for my garden. We were very tired, so she suggested that we go and have lunch somewhere.

We went to a very nice restaurant nearby. We gave our order and were waiting when she asked me, " Can I ask something, is there anything between you and Mehul Bhai. "

The smile on my face vanished. I just didn't know what to say, I didn't want to lie to her and could not tell her the truth. I was still thinking when a stupid tear slid from my eyes.

I got embarrassed and hid my face she placed her hand on my shoulder and said, " It is ok Megha if you don't want to talk about it. Let's talk about something else." I nodded and gave her a weak smile. I said thanks and she squeezed my hand lightly.

We just finished our food when I saw a few familiar faces. They were coming towards us and before, I could even recall their name, they were at our table.

" Hi !! Do you mind, if we join you? It is so nice to meet both of you here. Priya, you already know three of us. Won't you introduce us to your friend? Though we know that she is Megha, Mehul's family friend. Right? " One of them said.

" Hmmm... right. Megha, he is Sagar, he is a businessman. This is Vikram, he is a doctor and last but not least, he is Gautam, a doctor as well. They are Rahul's and Mehul's friends.

All of them studied in the same school in Dehradun and became best friends. "

I said hello to them shyly. So what do you do Megha?" Gautam asked smiling like anything.

" She is a very talented interior designer. She is designing my new office along with my dad's office. I must say I am already impressed with her designs. They are so fresh. "

Priya answered before I could say anything.

" Wow !! That's incredible. So you are a beautiful girl, who makes everything beautiful around her." Gautam was grinning.

" So, Megha do you mind me asking if you are single? " Vikram asked, but I didn't know what to say.

I couldn't say, I was married to your best friend and didn't want to say that yes, I am single. I looked at Priya and she said, " As far as I know, she is. "

" By the way where is Rahul?" Sagar asked.

" Oh, I have no idea. He had some meeting and after that, he wanted to meet Mehul, so I guess they must be giving company to each other somewhere." She answered.

" Oh, then let's call them, as we all are here," Sagar suggested, but I didn't want to get involved in all this. He was ashamed of me.

" Actually, I have to go as I have a meeting in an hour and my brother is coming to Delhi. I need to leave. It was nice meeting all of you. " I said with a smile and got up looking at Priya and she also got up.

We said goodbye to them and turned to go out of the restaurant. Just then we saw, both Mehul and Rahul, coming inside.

Priya was very happy to see them. Sagar saw them too and called them. They were surprised to see us. I didn't want to be here right now. They came towards us. They all greeted each other.

" Oh, everyone is here, that's great. Priya, you didn't tell me you were coming here with Megha, we would have come with you." Rahul said to Priya and snaked his arm around her waist.

They look so good together. Looking at each other with so much love in their eyes.

" Oh, it was not planned we had come to buy some stuff and after we did that, we came here to have lunch and they were also here. " She said looking at them.

Gautam said, " Now, that we all are here, we must celebrate. We would get a chance to know our new friend Megha as well."

Mehul kept looking at me making me uncomfortable. He said," It seems you have already made many friends,

Megha. " I just smiled faintly and didn't reply.
