Chapter 10: Lydia

Lydia awoke the next morning feeling sore and throughly used. As she rose to go to the bathroom Drake pulled her back down into the bed.

“Ahhh!” Lydia squealed not expecting Drake to yank her down.

“Just a few more minutes,” he yawned sleepily.

“Drake, if I stay in this bed any longer I’m going to pee myself.” Lydia pouted trying to wiggle free of his grasps.

Reluctantly Drake let her go, and Lydia booked it to the bathroom to use the facilities.

‘What a perfect way to start your morning.’ Lydia thought to herself smiling. Her smile quickly turned to a frown though as She reminded herself that this was a job and in a months time she’d go back to being a high end escort, and not a billionaires girlfriend.

Lydia quickly finished her morning routine of brushing her teeth and hopping into a hot steamy shower, before jumping out and wrapping herself in a plush white robe. She walked out of the bathroom to ask Drake what she should wear today, but to her dismay Drake had already left the room. Lydia pulled her robe strings, tying the knot tighter against her body, before she set off wandering the house looking for Drake.

It didn’t take Lydia long to find him. He was standing in the kitchen wearing grey sweatpants that hung low on his hips, he hadn’t put a shirt on yet and Lydia was busy ogling his toned muscular back, nothing was more sexy to her than a man’s back.

“Are you going to stand there and ogle at me all day, or would you like a cup of coffee?” Drake turns and smiles at Lydia.

A deep blush creeps up across Lydia’s chests and on her cheeks.

“I wasn’t ogling.” Lydia stammers. “ I was trying to figure out what other secrets you’re hiding. Drake Whittenberg, playboy billionaire, generous lover and home chef.”

“Hah, wouldn’t you like to know all my secrets.” Drake said jokingly while reaching up and grabbing two coffee cups out of his cupboard.

“Cream and sugar?”

“Just cream please,” Lydia responds, “Is there anything I can help you with?”

“Nope, I’m just about finished. Actually here, take our coffees to the table, and I’ll meet you there in a second.” Drake grins, grabbing the coffee cups and passing them to Lydia before returning his attention back to the stove.

Lydia grabs the cups and heads towards the dining room table, it was a gorgeous table that stood high, and was made out of mahogany wood, the chairs were bar height, the cushions nice and plump. Lydia climbs onto the chair, it was a bit difficult for her, due to her short stature, but she finally manages, and she sits at the table and sips her coffee while she waiting for Drake’s arrival and once again she finds herself daydreaming about what life would be like if this was her reality.

‘I guess I’ll just enjoy being Cinderella for right now, and then when the clock strikes midnight, when our month is up and everything goes back to normal, I’ll at least have the memories from our time together.’ Lydia thought to herself.

At that moment Drake walked in with two plates piled high with scrambled eggs, bacon, and fresh fruit interrupting Lydia from her own thoughts.

“And your breakfast is served beautiful.” Drake says while leaning down and setting the plate in front of Lydia, planting a kiss on her forehead.

“Drake!” Lydia exclaims a big smile on her face, “you didn’t have to do all this.”

“I know. It’s just been a while since I’ve had anyone to make breakfast for. And we have a long drive ahead of us today, you’ll need all your energy, you’re going up against the Whittenbergs’ today.”

Lydia felt butterflies in her stomach. She was feeling anxious about meeting Drake’s family today.

Lydia popped a bite of eggs in her mouth and moaned in delight.

“Drake these eggs are heavenly, they’re the best scrambled eggs I’ve ever had.”

“The secret is the cream, it makes them more fluffy. Amelia taught me how to cook when I was younger.”

“Will you tell me more about Amelia?”

“No.” Drake said shaking his head and pushing his now empty plate away from him. “Id rather not talk about Amelia.”

Drake’s entire demeanor changed at Lydia’s question. Gone was his light cheerful mood and back was his business professional attitude.

“I need to hurry and get dressed. Your bags are already packed with your clothes for weekend in Hampshire. For your brunch outfit you’ll want to wear a blouse, a skirt, and some heels, oh and make sure to pair them with a pair of Pearl earrings and a necklace.”

Drake stood up dismissing himself, their small moment of blissful pleasure had ended and it was back to reality, and Lydia was reminded that she was nothing more than Drake’s hired escort. Here to trick his mother into think Drake was in a serious relationship.

Lydia hurriedly finished her coffee and breakfast before going back to Drake’s room to pick out her outfit for the engagement party. She choose a light pink long sleeve satin blouse with a tan pencil skirt and nude pumps. The outfit fit her body perfectly clinging to all the right curves, putting just the right emphasis on her breasts and ass. She decided to apply minimal makeup with a matte light pink lipstick to finish off the look. For her jewelry she picked out a choker style pearl necklace and small studded pearl earrings. Her hair she parted down the middle and she wore it long and straight. Smiling at her appearance in the mirror, Lydia left Drakes room and went to sitting room to wait for him.

Lydia was relaxed on the couch reading through tabloids on her iPhone about the Whittenberg family when Drake walked in. He was wearing light grey linen pants with a white button up shirt, the top button was undone and he had his sleeves pushed up showing his forearms. He looked delicious. Lydia unconsciously bit her lip while looking at him.

“If you keep starring at me like that Doll, we’re going to be late for the party and then you’re going to have to deal with an angry Diane Whittenberg.”

Drakes mood from earlier seemed to have shifted back to his more playful banter that Lydia was use to, but Lydia still wanted to err on the side of caution.

“Well we wouldn’t want that.” Lydia said standing up smoothing out her skirt, “How do I look?”

“You look gorgeous.” Drake says pulling Lydia into a hug and placing a kiss on top of her head. “I am sorry about earlier. I shouldn’t have gotten mad at you. Amelia is just a sore subject. Please don’t ask about her again or bring her up around the family.”

He pulled back from Lydia so he could look at her face, his arms still wrapped around her waist.

“Got it.” Lydia said faking a smile. “Amelia is off limits.”

Drake looked like he wanted to say something else but he remained silent instead.

“ We should hurry before we’re late. I want to make a good impression on everyone.” Lydia said, breaking the silence.

“Yes, a good impression will make things easier for you,” Drake agreed. Grabbing a set of keys and heading for the door.

Lydia followed him out and into the elevator where they kept some distance between each other. Drake punched the button for the garage and the rode the elevator down in silence.

Walking out of the elevator Lydia let out a low whistle.

“Wow these are some nice cars.”

Drake took her hand and smiled at her. “They’re all mine.” He sounded like a little boy on Christmas Day unwrapping a set of hot wheels. “Do you have a favorite?” He asked.

Lydia gazed around the garage for a moment before pointing to the sleek midnight blue Aston Martin. “This one.”

“Then that is the one we will take today.” Drake walked over to his lock box and opened it up with the key he’d grabbed earlier from the house. He quickly grabbed the fob for the Aston Martin and lead Lydia over to it opening up her door for her and letting her climb inside.

Once Drake was in the car, he pushed the gas in a bit while letting up on the break letting the engine roar to life.

Lydia giggled. “Do boys ever grow up.”

Drake chucked. “Nope we just get bigger and better toys.”

They drove the rest of the way to Hampshire in peaceful silence. Lydia drifted off into a peaceful slumber, still recovery from their extracurricular activities last night.

Lydia woke to the sound of the engine cutting off and the car being placed in park. They had arrived at the restaurant, just from the outside view, Lydia knew the restaurant would be too rich for her blood.

Drake was already out of the car and he’d opened up her door and reached down and grabbed her hand. “Well Good Afternoon Sleeping Beauty, are you ready to wonder into the Vipers Den.”

Lydia took Drakes hand and pulled herself out of the car. She flashed Drake an award winning smile before responding, “With you my Prince, I am ready for anything.”
