Chapter 17

THREE WEEKS LATER

School haven't been like school lately. Home haven't been like home either but I try to smile so my dad and step mom wouldn't worry about me. Isaac and I's relationship haven't been the same but we try to make it work.

I haven't been over at Isaac's house since the day I found out that he's related to the man that killed my mom. he said he took the photo down from off the wall but it doesn't change the fact that their still family and their house is right beside his.

I know he's trying and I appreciate it. I appreciate it a lot it shows that he really likes me and I'm in love with him. I haven't told him directly and I'm not sure If I should. I think I will scare him away.

Today is the second game of the season and I don't know if I'm going yet. Chad and Joe definitely are but I'm not sure about me. It has nothing to do with Isaac but Alicia is buying the material's for the nursery tomorrow and I haven't sketch a design or list any items yet so I had to do that and I have solo project that's due tomorrow and because I'm always thinking about my mom and Isaac's uncle I didn't remember the nursery or my project.


It's even hard for Isaac and I to have a conversation. Whenever I look into his dark green eyes I zone or and think about his uncle. I can't get over it.


"Hey you!" I roll my eyes at the familiar female voice. Britney, she's Isaac's ex-girlfriend and very annoying. Everyday she tells me the same thing 'Leave my man alone'

"Little girl I don't have time for your bullsh*t."

"Mhmm aren't you curious to know who was at my house last night?"

"Not really, I don't care about you."

"Imma tell you anyways, Isaac. Yup I invited him over and we kissed." She grin

I ain't going to admit but he hurt like hell to hear her say that even though know it isn't true because she comes up with something new everyday Isaac say she's crazy and I'm starting to believe that

"Look Britney, I don't give a f*ck, don't you have a cheer off to practice for? leave me alone you retard." I hissed and walk away from her.


I walked into the library where I knew Chad would be. I spot him at the back with three science books open and highlighting sentences from the books.

"Hey you have a test coming up?"

"Yes, tomorrow...WE have a test Rumi."

"Great." I sighed and place my head on the table.

"It's okay I know you have a lot of other work to do and dealing with your relationship. We can study together during lunch.

"You're the best, have I every told you that?"

Chad chuckled and hit me on my shoulder.

**ISAAC'S P.O.V**

I didn't know where Rumi is so I sat with my friends during lunch. They were talking about football while I think about ways to make Rumi happy. He haven't been his self lately and I understand that one hundred percent. I don't know what I would do if I loose my mom so I understand he love and miss her.

I asked him out on a date last Friday but he said he wasn't in the mood to go out. To make things more complicated his mother's death anniversary is coming up. I have to find away to make him happy because it's going to be a tough time for him and he might even push me way some more. After I met his dad and step mom his dad said last year on is mother's death anniversary he got mad at everyone and cried and scream and then would go to school and get angry at any one that was in his way and that started a lot of fights. They tried therapy but the therapist was pressuring him and asking sensitive questions and Rumi wanted to stop. Another problem was my ex Britney. I don't know who told her about my relationship but ever since he found out she haven been annoying Rumi by telling him all sort of nonsense. I told him to believe her and also told her to leave him alone but she's crazy and Rumi has anger problems.


"I'm sorry I haven't been a good friend lately."

I turn to Damien who was already looking at me. "I should have been happy for you that you finally find someone that make's you smile and care for you and I shouldn't care whether it's a boy or girl and I'm sorry."


I smirk at him, It was a little shocking because Damien is always the angry one and don't like apologizing. Apart from him not accepting my relationship before he have been a really good and I'm thankful that he accepts it now.

"You're forgiven, it's quite fine I could understand where you're coming from."


Damien sighed from relief nd gave me a bro hug.


"Soo...you're gay?" Ricky suddenly ask.

"I came out about two months ago you already know that Ricky".I growl

"Well it's because you don't act like one".he shrug

"Haven't you seen him and Rumi in the halls,sucking faces like aliens". Michael ask

"And dry humping each other in the hall."

"Okay!! we don't do that stop lying" I roll my eyes.

They laugh and continued to tease me.

I didn't see Rumi for the rest of the day so I texted him and ask if he was okay. He said he was alright and was just studying for his upcoming exam. He also said he isn't going to make it to the game today because he have a project to start and a room to plan. I was a little upset but he has things to do so it was okay and I'm glad it isn't because he doesn't want to see me. I saw Chad and joe at the game and greeted them. These two all of a sudden love football after the first game.
