Ronald Smith

Hailey walked into the foyer while rubbing her neck lazily. Ivy had just dropped her off in front of their villa and she walked in.

She was tired and sleepy. Her eyelids were also threatening to close at will and her head drooped down as she struggled to walk to her bedroom without falling asleep the next second.

The guards at the door stared at her quietly and they couldn't help but mutter in their hearts that how could an adult be so cute.

Of course, Hailey didn't notice this. She scrambled to the door and turned the door knob.

As she stood there, she could hear the sounds of voices coming from inside. She immediately straightened up and forced herself to stay awake.

The Smith manor wasn't a place where she could relax and loosen up. She turned the knob and stepped in.

Inside the living room, there were three figures seated in the room. Hailey immediately recognized the two people seated alongside Ashley.

It was her father and step mother. They were both seated on the long sofa.

It had been three years since Hailey had seen her father last. He never bothered to come see her at all during the time she was in the Prime manor. Of course, she didn't want him to come anyway.

It would only be a stroke of bad luck if he actually came.

The three in the room had also noticed her the moment she entered. Ashley was shocked the most. Her crying expression was morphed with shock making her facial expression look even more scary. She hadn't expected Hailey to suddenly appear.

It was especially evident that she was guilty since she was trash talking Hailey to their father behind her back. She had even lied about what happened and tweaked the truth.

She was going to leave after poisoning her father's mind and stay outside for sometime. Then, she would let them tear each other apart before she returned.

But, she didn't expect the person she was badmouthing to arrive so soon. She was caught off guard.

Hailey took in her expression and immediately knew what had happened behind her back. She wasn't surprised. In fact, she would be disappointed if it didn't go that way.

After all, she had created a trap and it would be a loss if no one fell in.

Hailey strode into the room and ignored everyone seated. She didn't even look their way or offer any kind of acknowledgement towards them.

She walked towards the stairs leisurely and stepped on it.

It was then the people in the room regained their senses. Father Smith was the first.

He was annoyed seeing how she walked past him hastily and gritted his teeth as he questioned, "Hailey Smith, are you blind? Can you not see me seated here?"

Hailey paused in her steps. She didn't react for a moment. Then, she slowly turned to look at him over her shoulder.

Her gaze was indifferent yet haughty as she retorted, "So what?"

Ronald Smith was taken aback by her retort and could not ready for some time. He could not believe that it was Hailey talking back at him.

His tone was full of disbelief as he muttered, "You're talking to me?"

Hailey was disdainful. She folded her arms and sneered,

"Of course, I'm talking to you."

Her words were as disdainful and contemptous as they could go. Her posture was also as haughty and she stood on top of the stairs looking down at them.

Although Ashley already knew that something had changed about her, she was still caught off guard seeing how arrogantly she was acting despite being in front of their father. She had thought that she wouldn't dare to defend herself in front of Ronald when she complained about her.

But, she didn't expect that Ronald would also be attacked that way.

Of course no one could be more shocked than Ronald himself. Hailey's gaze was directed at him so he could sense how icy her glare was.

He couldn't believe that the thoughtful and timid daughter he had to be so daring.

He was even more infuriated. He spat in anger, "How dare you talk to me that way? I'm your father."

Hailey's expression didn't falter.

She merely gave him a glance and rebutted, "I don't have a father. At most, you're just a sperm bank that contributed to my birth. So, what are you acting so arrogantly for?"

Sperm bank?

The three held their breath at her words. Her words were harsh and brutal. As expected, Ronald was even more incensed.

Lea, Hailey's stepmother took a glance at his tightly clenched fist and looked in Hailey's direction. She also didn't expect it but she was more tactical and easily adapted the situation.

She looked at the two people tearing each other apart for a moment and a thought suddenly appeared in her mind. A small crafty ole appeared on her lips at that thought.

She adjusted her expression and looked in Hailey's direction. Her voice was soft and kind as she muttered, "Hailey, don't talk to your father like that. It's disrespectful."

Hailey's gazs immediately turned sharp. She directed her gaze towards her and her gaze was also cold. She spat, "He and I are talking. Who are you to interfere?"

Lea's breath was caught in her throat and she looked at the glint in Hailey's eyes in disbelief. She was at a loss.

When did Hailey become like this?

Ronald was angry. But, he knew he had to be calm. Otherwise, he wouldn't be able to get what he wanted.

He directed a small smile Hailey's way and beckoned to her.

"Come and take a seat. There's no need to quarrel like this."

Hailey was surprised at her father's face changing attitude. But, she wasn't surprised. He had always been shameless.

She huffed before stepping down the stairs and walked to the sofa at the edge.

She settled on the seat and folded her legs. "What do you want?"

Ronald's chest burned with anger seeing her defiant attitude. But, he suppressed himself from lashing out as he smiled.

"I heard you have a blue gemstone in your custody."
