Thirty-three

POV

Tessa

The warehouse was plunged into darkness when Loomis's henchmen finally left, leaving me alone with that sinister man. The sound of their footsteps echoed, leaving a heavy silence in the air. I felt like a trapped prey, my breath quick and irregular, filling the empty space.

Loomis watched as his henchmen walked away, a malicious smile playing on his lips. As the last shadow disappeared, he approached me, his movements calculated and slow, as if savoring every moment.

"Finally alone," he murmured, his voice soft and threatening, filling the space between us. His eyes gleamed with unsettling cruelty, casting a sense of terror around me.

I felt a shiver run down my spine as he got closer, his presence seeming overwhelming. Instinctively, I backed away, my eyes desperately searching for an escape in the darkness around me.

"What do you want from me?" I whispered, my voice trembling with fear and defiance.

Loomis smiled, a cold smile that didn't reach his eyes. He stepped closer, invading my personal space, his warm breath brushing against my goosebumps.

"Oh, my dear Tessa," he murmured, his voice laced with malice. "You still don't understand? I want everything you have to offer."

As Loomis's words hung in the air, a cold wave of dread washed over me. My mind raced, desperately trying to think of a way to escape, but the reality of my situation crashed down like a ton of bricks. Loomis stood mere inches from me, his presence suffocating and his intent clear.

"You won't get away with this," I said, trying to muster as much strength and defiance as I could. My voice sounded stronger than I felt, and I clung to that small victory.

Loomis chuckled, a dark and hollow sound that sent chills down my spine. "Oh, but I already have," he said, his tone dripping with arrogance. He reached out and brushed a strand of hair from my face, his touch cold and unwelcome.

I recoiled from his touch, anger bubbling up within me. "You think you can break me? You think you can take everything from me?" I spat, glaring at him with all the defiance I could muster.

Loomis's smile widened, his eyes gleaming with a sinister light. "Oh, Tessa, I don't just think I can. I know I can," he said, his voice low and menacing. "And I will."

The room felt like it was closing in on me, the walls pressing tighter as Loomis leaned in closer. His breath was hot against my ear as he whispered, "You see, this is all a game to me. A game I always win."

In that moment, I knew I couldn't let him see my fear. I had to stay strong, for myself and for Bennett and Mason. I straightened my shoulders and met his gaze head-on, refusing to let him see me break.

"You'll never win," I said, my voice steady and full of conviction. "No matter what you do to me, you'll never break me."

Loomis's eyes narrowed, his smile fading as my words hit their mark. For a brief moment, I saw a flicker of doubt in his eyes, but it was quickly replaced by a steely resolve. He grabbed my arm roughly, pulling me closer.

"We'll see about that," he growled, his grip tightening painfully.

As he dragged me deeper into the warehouse, my mind was a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions. I knew I had to find a way out of this, a way to escape and get back to Bennett and Mason. I couldn't let Loomis win. I wouldn't let him break me.

Even as I was dragged deeper into the darkness of the warehouse, a fierce determination burned within me. I refused to succumb to the terror Loomis was trying to instill in me. My mind worked frantically, seeking an opportunity, any chink in his armor that might give me a chance to escape.

As Loomis pulled me through dim and labyrinthine corridors, my senses were alert for any chance of resistance. Every step I took was an internal battle between fear and courage, but I refused to let fear dominate.

Finally, we reached a dark and gloomy room, where Loomis shoved me inside and closed the door behind us. The darkness was suffocating, but I could feel his presence in every shadow, his malevolence hanging in the air like a poisonous mist.

"You're a stubborn girl, Tessa," he said, his voice a sinister whisper in the darkness. "But that only makes things more interesting for me."

I swallowed hard, forcing myself to remain calm despite the storm of emotions within me. I needed a plan, a way to turn the tables in my favor and escape the clutches of this monster.

"What do you want from me?" I asked, my voice firm despite the internal tremor. "Why are you doing this?"

Loomis chuckled darkly, his tone dripping with malice. "I want what I want, Tessa. And you're here to give me exactly that."

A wave of revulsion and indignation surged within me, but I suppressed it, maintaining my facade of courage. I couldn't let Loomis see my weakness.

"You'll never get what you want from me," I said, my voice echoing in the dark room. "I won't let you break me."

Loomis's eyes gleamed in the darkness, a cruel glint that sent shivers down my spine. "We'll see about that, my dear," he said, his voice laden with ominous promises.
