Chapter 7

**Braydon**

It didn’t take a long time to find Nicole. She was upstairs at her locker, muttering incoherent words to herself.

How the hell was I supposed to approach her after our little argument? How was I going to convince her to not tell Blake about her possible pregnancy?

Why, of all of the girls I could have cheated with, did I choose Nicole Fisher? The girl despised Blake and would stop at nothing to destroy her life.

Damn it, what did I get myself into?

Sweaty bodies. Hormonal teenagers. People drunk off their asses.

This was the party of the century—*my party*. My parents were on this dumb couple retreat for the whole week. So why wasn’t I happy?

I took out my phone and tried to dial her number one more time. Maybe something had happened to her?

*One ring.

Two rings.

Three rings.*

She’s not going to pick up.

I was giving up hope when a faint, “Hello?” came from the other line.

“Blake!” I shouted, mostly because the music was too loud and I could barely hear her. “Hold on.” I told her.

Grabbing my can of beer, I got off the couch, tried to squeeze between people and made my way out of the house where the music wasn’t so loud.

“Where the hell are you?” I asked. “You promised you would be here.”

“Sorry,” She yawned, “I fell asleep when I got home from dance practice and I just woke up.” I could tell that she wasn’t lying since her voice sounded drowsy.

But I was still mad.

“Do you know how embarrassing it is to be at my own party without my girl by my side?”

“It’s just a party Braydon, why are you so angry?” She argued.

“Because,” I yelled, “It’s not just any party, it’s my party. The party that we were supposed to enjoy together.”

“I still don’t get it.”

I sighed. “You promised if we won the home game - which we did - after the party, you and I would finally—”

“Oh my god,” She exclaimed, interrupting me, “This is about having sex?”

I ran a hand through my messy golden hair. “Blake you promised me. Do you know how hard and embarrassing it is to have a prude for a girlfriend.”

“I can’t believe we are arguing about this.” She cried.

“You act like losing your virginity is a big deal when it’s not.”

“It’s a big deal to me,” She snapped, “If you love me like you said, then waiting forever shouldn’t be so hard for you.”

“If you loved me like you said then having sex with me shouldn’t be so hard for you.”

“Oh wow. You know what Braydon; if waiting is so hard for you then maybe you should find someone that can give you what you need since I obviously can’t.”

“Maybe I—” I started to say, when I heard a dial tone come from the other line on my phone.

Fuck it. If she didn’t care about my needs then why should I care about hers? I finished off my can of beer and decided that it was time to go back in the house and, at least, try to enjoy the amazing party that I had created and not regret what the consequences would be tomorrow.

By my fifth beer, I had started to become dizzy and I could no longer walk in a straight line.

I was making my way to the kitchen to get myself another beer when I lost my footing and fell on my ass on the floor. Before I knew it, I was laughing uncontrollably! About what? I had no idea.

My laughing ceased, though, when a pair of green stilettoes stopped in front of me; my eyes roamed up her body until I got to her face and through the blurry vision, I saw a face with blond hair.

I couldn’t recall what had happened after I had seen the blond chick – which, I assume, was Nicole - helped me up from the floor. The next day, I woke up with the worst hangover. I felt regret in the pit of my stomach because I had been a jerk to Blake and woken up naked next to someone else.

I reached Nicole and stood in front of her but I still didn’t know what to stay to her.

“Look Nicole—” I started out saying but she held up her hand for me to stop.

“Braydon I never noticed how sexy you are.” She suddenly said, seductively stroking my left arm. My eyes narrowed in, confused at her closeness.

I kept quiet, not quite sure how to answer.

“It would be a shame if Blake finds out about us.”

I yanked her arm away. “What do you want from me Nicole?” I scowled.

The seductive smirk got even bigger and I knew right then that the next thing that came out of her mouth wouldn’t be good.

“The way I see it Braydon, you could either break up with Blake by the end of the day, or I could humiliate both of you in front of the whole school by going public about this pregnancy.”
